AC and dehum.. just make sure you vent the hot air it expells while running and it won't be an endless loop of waste electricity. pipe away the condensation from AC running on demand. Either it has a pump built in or you need a little pump like you do for any AC unit in your house. it will always generate more heat than cooling effect... laws of physics and such... So, if you don't vent it out, it potentially causes an endless AC/dehum cycle. dehum turns on, produces more heat, AC turns on to reduce heat, lol. if it's vented away, it'll save a shit ton of electricity in that context. All ACs dehumidifiy, it's inherent in how they work. This may be more than relying on 'just' that fact? A question for vivosun. This one runs at 185w so the 12L/day is probably the rating at sutration... take about half of that at more normal temps and ~60% RH. It's an important distinction to clear up. Another question for vivosun. If it's only 6L/day under normal situations, it might struggle with a 2x2 canopy size. if it's 12l/day AHAM, it'll probably be fine. There's a standardization for this measurement called AHAM (believe Average Heat and Humidity). don't quote me but it's something like 60F / 60%rh = AHAM. If it is measured at "saturation" the numbers will be slightly more than double AHAM measurements. If temp and RH isn't referenced, the L/day is impossible to interpret correctly. This gets complicated, because your local climate will be a huge factor. If you have to deal with ambient RH and the moisture your plants produce, then you will almost certainly need a beefier dehum. Just for a 2x2 canopy and no added humidity from outside, it's probably fine. You'll know by how hard it runs or if it struggles to keep up. If it runs and only turns off for the auto-defrost feature to protect the coils, it's not going to last long. Lick duct fans, buy bigger than you need so it reduces ware-n-tear. Exceptions -- maybe the AC is not running and the heat would help.. then go ahead and let it vent hot air locally. If you have a cold season, this may be helpful. My dehum helps control the temperature in winter. i've wasted money on a too small unit before that died within 3-4 years.. i've been through this learning curve... your local weather and canopy size are the major factors to consider.
