Those mysterious hairs ??? It is a extra long stretch to compare a carnivorous Amazon plant with an Asain Flower.
Its as if comparing an apple to a chiar.
Photoperiod react to light height and circadian rythm ( light cycle ) - but still depend on humity and feed as per instructions.
Shifting to flowering lights and longer light schedules just helps da plants to make itz flowers, which are used to gather pollen from males to make seeds.
Its da same as binging 20 shows on a row, da first wave of insomnia is hyperactivity.

A few pistils also appear on the photoperiodic strain if it stays in the veg phase long enough. But they're not "useless"; they can be pollinated and develop seeds, just like the main bloom later on. It's a safety measure to make sure no male pollen is missed. Cannabis is definitely not a carnivorous plant.

They are called stipules. I don't know if they have a biological use.. they could be vestigial, too... like your appendix. Google will help avoid postulating theories if evidence already exists. These stipules have nothing to do with sex or flipping to flower, though.

Autoflowers have a different feeback loop for triggering flower... it likely resembels 'something' else out there, but probably not this.

Plants possess a modular genetic blueprint where unexpressed pathways act like latent slots waiting for environmental triggers or evolutionary changes.
Not useless, think of them like un-used genetic appendage slots, some plants utilize them some do not.
Similar to when you are loading equipment on your mechs/vehichle in video games, depending on what tools/weapons you use, some slots are used some are not. Its all a very complex blend of tailored genetical expression across time. I like to think of it, to simplify it is think of it like equipment "slot(empty)"
