You raise a very logical argument, and your skepticism is highly justified. You are looking at this situation through the lens of basic business common sense. There is no argument; you are correct.
In a perfect world, mindflowers- I'm sure they tried- the current legality across different states and countries makes it very difficult to deliver. The legal maze of international cannabis laws makes operating a global platform incredibly tough and ever-changing, and many of these businesses are small startups operating on razor-thin margins in a brutal market. It is easy to get frustrated when things don't work perfectly, but remembering that platforms like GrowDiaries are pioneering something that was completely impossible just a decade ago changes the whole picture. True validation comes from the community and the craft itself—becoming a "growing legend" in your own right, not just from a website's contest or sponsorship. That's the real beauty of GD.
Focusing on gratitude for how far legalization has come in recent years is a far more positive mindset to have. I'd rather give a big thank you to GD for giving me the opportunity to meet so many great growers from all over the world and for giving us the chance to learn and grow from each other. :) A few coins along the way make little difference.
Dopamine isn't about the pleasure of receiving a reward, but the motivation and excitement in the anticipation and striving for that reward, making the journey itself, not just the destination, the core of our drive and satisfaction. Dopamine is not the pursuit of happiness, but the happiness of the pursuit.
At the end of the day, we all know that where there is money to be made, there will always be actus reus & mens rea. But don't let their bad business ruin your joy for the craft. Pursue something greater than a couple of free seeds. Much love!
