Hi everyone! I’m thinking about using Dryferm bags, but I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews online and some people love them, while others don't get good results.
For those who have used them:
What has your actual experience been like with final quality and aroma?

Since I first used them, I did not stop. The quality and aroma are definitly not worse then from a good old school drying. That is enough for me, as the work and risk is less. First time I used them when I had to dry a harvest while I am on vacation. When I came back the harvest was perfectly dried without budrot or any negative points.
The videos I saw on youtube did a comparison including test-results stated that the quality and aroma is a bit better then a good whole-plant-drying. But as I wrote: for me they do a great job even if the results would be the same.

There's to many ways to tackle something that will happen naturally anyway in this industry..don't get it... just hang your bud up..stops confusion..just adding to a problem that isn't there in my eyes.

I never used them so I'll give my biased opinion on mason jars lol . There're like a dollar or two and last pretty much forever. Least concern of contamination. I've dropped them from 3-4 feet onto hard ground and they survived. Pain in the ass to burp a bunch though if you have a big harvest so not feedable there. I usually only need to burp mine one or twice and they are good too go. Are those bags much different than a turkey bag? the seem to keep bud pretty decent. I got half gallon jars for my recent harvest. But my dad found old 5 gallon mason jar at the flea market for 20 bucks. I cleaned it out I'm gonna try to cure a plant in it! I may try to hunt a few down they are kind of expensive online since there like 100 years old. Half-gallons are the way to go or jars something each.. 2 bucks to store 2-4 oz of bud is not bad, and cost goes down by held each time you re-use. Plastics products have there place it just depends but for home grower i think jars are the best.

This is a homegrowing attempt at making number 2 your cheapest line item. how do you think it will work?

Its about curbing your expectations. The entire hang for 14 days to correct pre harvest metabolism is a myth. Dry cure at most can convert 5to10% . If nitrogen is not sunk correctly you are smoking harsh low grade irrespective of dry cure method.
The bags do exactly the same and work perfectly. But they will not magically convert more than the rough edges of the finished plant. A vast portion of smoke quality comes from having correct pre harvest signalling and metabolism, the idea that the dry cure is the end all be all is industry garbage im afraid.
Curing is a process of refinement, not transformation.
