That Chitral IBL is a really interesting one. Pakistani cannabis has a long association with traditional hash production, especially in northern regions such as Chitral and the Hindu Kush. The old populations are generally associated with relatively compact, broad-leaf plants, strong resin production and earthy/spicy/hash-like aromas.
What I find most interesting about a pre-1970 landrace line is that it’s almost the opposite of modern breeding: you’re not necessarily looking for maximum THC, huge yields or identical plants. You’re preserving and exploring a population, so the variation between individuals is part of the appeal. I’d definitely document the phenotypes as this one develops — structure, flowering time, aromas, resin and colours.
Would love to see how different the individuals turn out.
