Keep going bud. Sounds like your dealing with same issues I have had in past. Including budget. Still have some but fix 1 issue at a time. To fight overwatering add course perlite I am at 35 percent in my substrate. Only water 2 times a week and way less amounts. Stick finger in soil to check if wet. Lift bucket and go by weight as well. Make a totally dry bucket of substrate identical to one your using that is dry for comparison (NO PLANT). Should help. I feel your pain on being a newbie.
