Right on with the light stress. My HLG 225 is always at 100%, and seems to cause problems if closer than about 22". I'm still experimenting, but I don't have enough grows with the light yet to know the best distance/schedule/intensity balance.

@Eagle680
, Meh, shes turning out fine. ILGM is 6/10 in my books so far but I'll have to give my Jack Herer Photoperiod beans a try. I'm just not getting the best aromas and tastes like other seed providers do, like Seedsman or 420Fastbuds. I'm new to GD but have decades of non-recorded grows with Nirvana, bagseed and even with companies that have gone under like Castle seeds. Love these new strains, so much easier to grow but seemingly "watered down" tastes, smells...

Looks like your vSpec 550 is kicking butt over my HLG 225, but it's all good. Going-forward, I only want to have one plant at-a-time, so I'm thinking the 225 is good for me. I would get another one if I wanted to have two plants....but I would recommend your light for anyone who wants something bigger than the 225. I like HLG, I think they deliver quality and value. I've been smoking the Bubblegum buds, great smoke. I expect this Jack Herer to be even better, with more Sativa like effects...but we'll see....they might not be much different.

I've been doing some quick dries on the ILGM Bubblegum Auto, and sampling the smoke. Nice buzz. When I dry it slow, then it's really-sweet tasting. I pulled a few popcorn buds from the bottom, and put them on top of my LED driver to dry for 1-2 days...then smoked 'em. If I dry 'em for longer then they lose some of the terps. I've been taking some larger bud samples from my tops, drying them for 1-2 days, then grinding them. Those make for some good smoke, you're gonna love it. I'm gonna wait at least one more week for main harvest, only about 50% of my trichomes are cloudy. I think this strain needs 15-16 weeks to fully-mature.

Something I learned from this grow - it's good to have a tent that's not bigger than the footprint of your light(s). If your tent is too-big, then you lose the benefit of light bouncing off the walls and helping the outsides of the buds. Using my lux meter, I find the extra reflective light to be significant. Also, I learned that you probably need a fan setup and/or air conditioning system to keep the temperature and humidity right in a CLOSED tent (that maximizes reflection off the walls). My advice to newbies is that you only need a big tent if you're going to be a producer or seller. For guys like me who just want personal supply, I think one 2x2 tent, and one plant at-a-time is gonna be plenty. You can easily get 2 oz from a 12-week flowering plant....and that's enough weed for most people for 3 months. It probably depends on how much you use, but 1 oz/month is plenty for most people I know. The HLG 225 light I have is plenty for one plant at-a-time in a 2x2 tent. Not quite enough for two flowering plants I think, but two of them would do it in a 2x4 tent...but that would require a good fan/AC system to deal with the extra heat. It's complicated, but fun to learn about :-)

Imagine having a marijuana strain named after you. Here's to Mr. Jack Herer, and Mr. Bruce Banister, cheers!

@NelloFarms
, the Jack Herer buds are getting really fat, dense, and sticky..and they're also stretching up slowly. Will post some pics soon.
