After exfoliation, leaf spot has virtually disappeared and main cola has really put on weight. Flowers are also growing much more densely than with my dwc grow but the blueberry pine diesel smell isn't there this time around. I have also been fertilizing quite high this week, double strength because soil gets completely dry in under 24hrs and I'm not seeing any lockout or toxic signs. 9/15 Started flushing despite last dwc with Jack grow went 12 weeks. Bud was potent but lacked odor.

Grow Questions
caliEskimo5
caliEskimo5started grow question 3 years ago
Will my Jack herer autoflower this time around be more robust and have larger, much more dense and lessly populated colas due to being grown in a soil substrate versus my previous JHa in bubbleponics DWC? I notice much slower growth, is this an issue or don't sweat it?

Hey Cali. My ILGM Jack Herer is in week 7, you can follow my grow to compare with yours. I'm using techniques learned at https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/ . I did tons of research and decided that their "fertigation" approach worked well for me. I'll probably use the manifold technique detailed there from now on, because I'm trying to get the most out of a small light and a small tent. I find the manifold easiest to manage, and it keeps the canopy flat in my small space. What made the biggest difference for me was using coco like they describe on cocoforcannabis.com, with liquid nutrients mixed in a daily watering. As they say, it's hard to over-water coco. Watch the leaf color carefully, back-off nutes if dark green. I used a bit too-much in my grows over the last month, so I'm using no nutes for the next few weeks. HMU if you have any questions. Also, I enjoy watching Mr. Canuck's Grow on YouTube...I learned a lot watching him...and it's fun too. Don't over-do the nutrients. I just use the regular Miracle-Gro liquid from the store, mixing in about .2-.5mL per pint.

@Eagle680, Meh, shes turning out fine. ILGM is 6/10 in my books so far but I'll have to give my Jack Herer Photoperiod beans a try. I'm just not getting the best aromas and tastes like other seed providers do, like Seedsman or 420Fastbuds. I'm new to GD but have decades of non-recorded grows with Nirvana, bagseed and even with companies that have gone under like Castle seeds. Love these new strains, so much easier to grow but seemingly "watered down" tastes, smells...

BTW, your plant looks fine for 1-2 weeks old. There's no way the one shown from the grow question would be that big after just one week. You have another week or two to decide if you want to do manifold, topping, and/or LST. Read the instructions on cocoforcannabis.com if you don't already know how to do it. My ILGM Jack Herer is doing well with it so far, but I have a bit of experience. I burned my first plant with nutes, and didn't top the second one well :-( The second plant is an ILGM BubbleGum auto, you can see it in my grow list. It's yielding some big juicy buds, will be ready for harvest soon.

Will do!! And likewise! We'll be very busy this fall/winter...We also have some Seedsman on the way (Bruce Banger, Peyote WIFI, Peyote Gorilla, Gelat.OG and White Widow fem 😻), a flower tent full of GC Kush, a monster cropped kush as big as me in the field, a veg tent with 3 ILGM, 7 Crack clones and 2 at home crosses lol...between us (and family members) we go thru about 3oz a month which keeps us insanely busy lol...I'll be following your grows, good luck!! ❤️😽💨

Hey bro, I'm disappointed to see your little Jackie suffering :-( I would encourage you to get a bigger pot, follow the instructions at cocoforcannabis dot com. I'm not sure about your lighting setup. I have a lux meter that helps me dial-in the locations of the plant vs. the light. I would encourage you to "dial-in" the watering, the air temp and humidity. My ILGM Jack Herer is looked a lot better at 5 weeks, and it's really doing well now. If you copy what I'm doing, then I'm sure you'll get great results, I think this is a fine product from ILGM.

Also make sure your water PH is right, and dial-in nutes or don't use them. My latest ILGM Jack hasn't gotten much nutes, but I killed the first one by using too much. I think it's better to not use nutes if you can't dial-in the watering. I water mine every morning around 9:30, and I give it about a pint of water (48oz). With coco, it's hard to over-water if you saturate it to runoff once each day. That's how I got my watering right.

@AsNoriu, no. I never weigh plants right after cut, what's the point? It just gets pulverized and digested for next runs compost. I honestly don't know why I even answered that question, the answer is rubbish.
