, LEDs grow just like any other light can grow. LEDs are just not that good bang for the buck and have a very high probability of burning someones plant (unless they are good growers or are experienced in what the leaves are telling them... like you said) I will say the very expensive LEDs with dimmers work really well. But most people cannot afford them. If you are growing a small amount (a pound or less) T5s and HPS seem to me a much better financial decision. After all you are getting the same weed (a 1000 watt light of any type should get you 1.5 lbs dry) Also, in a situation like you have, where you don't have a lot of electricity, LEDs can ge a good choice. Less heat. Less cooling requirements, less electricity. I do think the great LEDs will start coming down in price.... especially when the FEDs legalize weed nationally. Then everyone will grow outside and it will cost $10 an ounce. Indoor growing will be like micro beer a specialty item worthy of a higher cost than outdoor weed that might have trouble growing in that area. Glad you have a grow-teraphy room. Know this forum is just opinions. And whatever works for one might not work of another. Growing is very personal but the more of us that grow the faster the Feds will legalize it completely. Kind of like alcohol prohibition. Cheers.

, Yes raise the light up. You can always bring it back down. You will know you are at the right height when the leaves are reaching for it (spread flat and up). Great job on getting a ppm meter. This is the only way to go.

, I test the ppm before I feed. Usually ppm at a rez change in veg is 500 ppm for flower it is no more than 800. I let the plants drink some water usually 3 to 4 days and then test the ppm again. if it is the same of less that means the plants are drinking nutes and water at the same rate. This is what you want. If you test it after 3 or 4 days and it is way higher than your starting ppm your strength is way too high. back it off a bit. This is one of the coolest thing about DWC or RDWC. It lets you get the nutes perfect. not to weak not too strong.

, You are going to a most awesome grower. You are trying to do what the plants want not what you want. If you use silica (usually 1 mil a gallon is good) through veg and most of flower. Your plants will be much less likely to break. It is also a very good addition for SCROG or training of any type. Just add the silica first... then cal / mag / then nutes... then any additions. Keep crushing it.
