This played out exactly like another photo period I grew the year before. I bought it as a clone and it was already growing for at least 3 weeks. This was back in late May (approx) - and it was outside for a good 5 months, maybe a bit more. When the heat kicks in here, any photo period that's been going for so long will just mess up. I have had great success with photo periods - but they have to be germinated around late June. They just can't handle the prolonged heat and go haywire. This one produced hundreds of bud sites, but they were all really, really, small. Exactly the same the plant I grew the year before (an O.M.G. from Ripper Seeds) It's not the seeds, it's the climate and timing. But all was not lost, the buds were a pain to harvest but they were incredibly sticky - so I turned into some lovely bubble hash and gave the rest of the flower away.

Gorilla by name, gorilla by nature. This one was damned big - I've never had an F1 like this before - absolutely massive. Took three evenings to harvest :) Once again, the top seed is (yet) another freebie seed from the guy in the grow shop. I didn't even pay for it :) Total cost for this grow? About 4 euros for the nutrients. The diary lost about a month - this was harvested after 8 - 9 weeks of flowering. Compared to the other two F1 plants (Tropicana Poison/Cream Caramel) this one started flowering around 7 - 10 days later. Probably the much bigger pot made the difference. I would recommend the biggest pots possible for these - same as photo periods.

Another winner from Sweet Seeds. Harvested after 7-8 weeks flowering. The diary lost about a month (too busy trimming) Really sticky, and very dense buds. Handled the crazy heat really, really well - and the dip down to very cold nights. A strong, resistant, plant.

They handled the blazing heat admirably, lovely aroma, nice dense buds. Very impressed with all the Sweet Seeds F1 strains - they're all top-notch and did a heck of a lot better than their auto flowers this year. They did not disappoint ;) The diary lost about 4 weeks near the end - Harvest was after around 7-8 weeks of flowering.

I'll give them a high rating because it was probably the conditions here that were the problem. However, all being treated equally? These really didn't hold up very well compared to the ones around them. Not a good strain for very (very) hot environments and probably more suited to a controlled grow tent setup. Of course, that costs electricity and makes it all rather expensive so that's no good to me here :) I'm happy with the results but I was expecting a bit more.

Turned out okay, a tidy yield and some interesting bud colours. I would say Papaya Cookies has a medium tolerance to extremely high temperatures.

The lowest of the three Fast Buds trio this year. Unfortunately I used plastic pots for this one and the the roots clogged at some point. It still worked out okay but I'm sure the yield would have been higher if I'd stuck to traditional fabric pots. The difference between plastic/fabric is immense - as I've come to learn this year. On the other hand, the buds do look beautiful :) 9 weeks from germination to harvest Plant 2 was 12 weeks from seed to harvest - came out very small

This is a real beauty - lovely sticky buds, nice aroma and a whopping yield :) Into the curing phase and this one looks fantastic (and smells nice, too) Apple Strudel takes the Fast Buds crown out of this great trio. They all did well, but this one did better :) Out of the three (and compared to the Sweet Seeds going on at the same time) this one handled the extreme heat admirably, producing the kind of flower that will keep stocked for the year ahead. Dense, fragrant and very smooth to vape.

Final dry weights : Plant 1 = 50g Plant 2 = 48g Plant 3 = 41g Plant 4 = 62g Plant 5 = 49g As I stated throughout most of the diary, they really held up well in some very extreme conditions. The first half of the grow was acceptable with temperatures just pushing into the 30C's - but the second half was deep into 40C - and these were also started at three different times throughout the summer. Incredibly heat resistant, a wonderful aroma and the buds are tight and dense. All in all, a perfect (lazy) grow. Minimal effort with great rewards :) I never grow the same strain twice, as much as I promise myself I will, but I may well make an exception next summer for these seeds. Up there with the best autos I've grown so far. I cannot recommend these enough if you can't control the weather and you know it's going to get very hot. Vape test/taste? It's all good. A smooth pleasant high that hits the spot.

Surprising low yield, but the heat was a huge factor. I would say this strain cannot handle the excessive temperatures. Dried to 28g a plant - which is pretty damned low for Sweet Seeds. Honestly, I'm starting to lose faith... All plants were planted at the same time and fed the same nutrients, etc. Across the board, Sweet Seeds have failed to deliver this year. They used to be able to handle this kind of heat with their 2022 strains - but last year and this year, the results have been dramatically different - and not for the good. On the other hand - their Fast Versions are all looking spectacular and are doing just fine in this crazy heatwave. It's like all the good genetics have moved over to them for some reason? The bud itself looks great - at least that's okay. Also, the seeds were about 7 euros each - so that translates as two ounces for 8 or 9 euros each? Yeah, the yield is low but I really can't complain :) For a really hot climate, just based on this year's grow, I would go with Green House Seeds: Super Lemon Haze x Ruderalis (autoflower) and any Ripper Seeds autoflowers.
