To begin with this was my 1st grow. AND it was the wettest summer our region has EVER had. We had just under 21 inches of rain in the last 90 days. During one particularly rainy week in August the flowers really seemed to deflate. They never recovered. I really did not get anything like a real "bud" on either of my two plants.
I had one plant in the ground with a mixture of my normal soil and compost. The other was in a 5 gallon smart pot with happy frog potting soil. I did go light on nutrients for the 1st few weeks. Only a compost tea and later the light nutrients. Between the two, the one in the smart pot did better than the one in the ground. Both were in an area that had marginal direct sunlight. I had to do this to be discrete.
Things looked OK during veg, but again we had a really, really rainy year. I'm torn on how to score this, but a 4 star review seems right. I say this because I did have one other variety that weathered the same rain, nutrient regiment and marginal sunlight as the OG Kush and that one (Sour Diesel) did much, much, much better. Ironically the SD happened to be the "freebie" seeds that came in my order. They are doing the best of all of my plants. Go figger...
