Hi Bud. Saw your fan question and wanted to add... I do fan maintenance to lubricate the main shaft inside the fan motor. The shaft seizes if the lubricate goes dry. I use WD-40, but any lube will work. that you can spray on the shaft ends. You'll need to use the straw that attaches to the nozzle to get the lube in the right place.. Take cage off, and the fan blade off, and spray the lube into the holes used for motor ventilation at the top and bottom of the shaft. You can turn the shaft with your fingers to see how stuck it is and then turn it after the lube, to work it in. After spraying let the lube breath for a minute or 2 so the accelerant doesn't catch fire when you start it up. I do fan maintenance once a year to help give new life to the fans, but I keep an eye on all the fans. The fan blades gather dust and hair and fibers that will add drag on the motor and the blades need to be wiped cleaned to get the best air flow from them with the least air resistance on them.. Remove and hair and fiber from the cages too. This adds resistance to the motor and helps dry out the lube. Yes, I've had fans burn out... but with some maintenance you can get double to triple the life out of your fans. Good Luck Buddy. Chuck.
