Almost a first time grow and it went ok. Started four, but the others died in oversaturated stonewool. This one was the survivor and it flowered late and longer than expected based on CK's description. It has a fair amount of crystal on it, but never got as resinous as the Canuk auto cheese that grew next to it--that one had sugar leaves like rabbit ears. Early Miss has a smell distinct from the cheese--more peppery. It's not bad, but I preferred the smell of the cheese. Will post cheese run eventually.
This Miss withstood an oversaturated stonewool block. It went from paper towel method to four inch stonewool block to 100% perlite hempy in 3 liquid-gallon sized buckets. It really hung in there throughout the early over watering, some humidity fluctuations and later PH imbalances caused by not refilling res daily during a busy week. It also tolerated defoliations pretty well. It was pruned at unideal times throughout the grow. Weird nute run: started with Advanced 3-part PH perfect, but moved to their Sensi Coco Bloom because the other plants in the space were in coco-perlite hempys. Wondered what would happen, but it took to the change fine.
Next time, will go with AN bloom all the way through. It bulked up some in the last weeks and more than half of the plant developed new white pistils. Harvested in stages: first, the part of the plant that was looking ready and wasn't flush with new pistils, then the rest.
Overall, I learned a lot for next time. I would grow it again, but there are too many other cultivars to explore. It will be a while before returning to this one. This was my first hempy run and second CK grow. Previously grew Trainwreck auto to success several years ago in 100% rockwool.
