I bought a lifetime supply of nute salts and make all my own concentrates and control ALL elemental ppm. I also grow in perlite which is mostly reusable, so now I only pay for water and electricity! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bVt9_9x-ag&list=PLxxqN5RKSG16VMcEHQr09mlYEDyAyKTcR

I have a pair of Ayahuasca Purple seedlings and both are tri-leaf above the cotyledons and each blade is a bit mangled and misshaped. I've never heard of a strain that starts like this, but to have both of the seedlings start like that has me blown away.

Though Jack's 321 is way better than Megacrop, it is still far from ideal. If one is interested in perfect nutrients for their girls, your best bet to to toss out the Jacks, keep the CalNit and Epsom, also get MKP, MagNit, Potassium Sulfate, Potassium Silicate and make your own micro blend using Iron DTPA, Manganese EDTA, Zinc EDTA, Copper EDTA, Boric Acid and Sodium Molybdate. Once you have your own custom Micro blend, you can target all of your macros very easily.

, yes, but more than just the blanket answer regarding TDS which measures how much salt is in the water, it is more important to be within ideal ranges of every element. At higher concentrations of everything, the user is much more likely to encounter lockouts which always express themselves as deficiencies, so instead of correcting the feed to account for giving too much of "A", the user is ramping up the "B" to account for a non-existent deficiency. Here is a tutorial I made about creating your own nutrient solution so to better understand the concentration of any one element. My personal aim as a grower is to produce absolutely perfect leaves and branches. I believe I am about 95% there. When I mix my own personal custom regimen, it settles to about 750 TDS, but more importantly, I guarantee the range of every element in my feed. I don't want to overdrive the plants, I just give them what they need for each growth stage and they do all of the magic. https://www.420magazine.com/community/threads/making-your-own-nutrient-concentrates.455187/

@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation
, if grown in potted rockwool (hydro), vegged for 8-12 weeks and grown under ideal lighting, would you care to estimate a yield? I'm trying to make an educated decision whether I want to run this strain with Pineapple Chunk perpetually. I had some awful experiences with OG Kush low yields, and though the smoke was primo, the yield was ass. Just looking for an honest review, I already own the beans, just trying to decide whether to run them or not. TYIA!!

, Overall, most brands will do ok as long as you don't overdo it. Just keep the tanks near 700 on your meter and your girls should do just fine.

@skybound
, good to know it was my first time using nutrients and the problem was I was mixing my nutrients and using tap water and when my PPM meter came in 3 weeks later that's when I did a runoff test I fixed the problem mind you I had to run 20 liters of RO water through the plant

5000 is WAY too high. You need to be down near 700. I have some AP beans, but held back from growing them and glad I did. I seek a great yielder, but also extremely resinous. I blog on 420 magazine, but unfortunately their server seems to be down. When it's back up, I suggest finding my thread there titled "How to use Hydro Buddy and Mix Nutes". I used GH 3 part for years and always saw leaf damage, but never really knew how to remedy that. I now mix my own nutes from salts and every element right down to the trace elements are intentionally targeted to produce the most favorable result. Each strain has slightly different needs, so when growing new strains, I quickly learn which adjustments need to be made and make them. I now grow perfect cannabis. Well, let me more accurately state that, I now grow with perfect nutrients so the plant can produce the best possible results.

I journal on 420magazine. I began to put my content on here, but the site formatting seems to only be geared towards SOG style grows with only known nute brands and it would be a hassle to try and fit my content within those parameters. I mix my own nutes from salts, and target each element to PPM right down to the smallest trace element, except I would not be able to relay this information on this site which IMO greatly detracts from the value of what makes my grows successful. I'm on 420 and RIU with the same screen name and avatar. I do like this site for researching strains though as I can search by breeder, then strain, then journals. This is helpful to get to know something before popping a bean. I like to know growth characteristics, known phenos, weaknesses, dietary preferences etc, whatever I can gather. One can never be too informed.

@midEastern
, I have a PC in about mid bloom and another in early bloom. My N is fine, but I think I'll need to jack P up as I have purple petioles for about the lower 3/4 of the plant, plus she's stacking super slowly to the point that I'm concerned, lol. I mix nutes from salts and use Hydro Buddy to calculate each element so have the ability to influence them individually (thankfully), but at least for the first harvest I expect a diminished result. I wish she had the vigor I see in Triple Cheese. That strain you can't hold it back, though the TC has spaghetti branches and every single one needs supplemental support. PC is very resinous already though, plus has nice thick branching, I just need to put more weight into the buds and faster if possible.

I have some in late veg, just about to head into bloom. Was looking for some tips, feed needs, deficiencies? Toxicities?

How long did you veg for?? Judging by your weeks, I guess 7? I'm taking down a Cheese that only vegged for 6 weeks and I expect around 12 dry, so getting 5.25 wet from this strain seems a bit off. I have a couple of these IBs in reserve and was thinking about taking them out for a spin.

I vegged mine from 8/5 - 10/23 and have her flushing now. Mine swelled up and stacked very well. I got 8 foot long colas that very in girth from a Red Bull can to a soda can. Mine unfortunately has plenty of popcorns, but future rounds won't. I expect more than a pound from this one plant under ~400 watts (1800ma) of Vero29D. The trics look evenly cloudy with a few clear, but the pistils are taking forever to amber. The smells from mine are identical to the 1980s cereal Boo Berry, yet early bloom scents were more of a cheesecake with a tinge of palm sweat. This chick's all over the map for smells, but they're all super sweet. She's a sweety and a good yielder.
