I'm not the most active member to be fair but chances like this definatly encourage me to put more effort in.
I think it would be good if the breeders were a little more closely involved.
Perhaps every month a different breeder could offer a few beans of a particular strain, growers that are interested in that strain can opt into the comp and the breeder randomly selects a grower or two.
Winning growers then have to start a diary within the month and take the beans to completion.
Grower gets free beans.
Breeder gets exposure.
Growers and viewers get a diary of reference regarding growing that strain.
Everyone wins.
If you don't intend to germinate the beans within 28 days you can't compete so don't opt in.
Anyone who competes and doesn't germinate within allotted time will be barred from entering grow diary comps for a certain time.
Only applicable to apprentices and above.
That's a 10 sec draft of a passing thought, I'm sure you can brainstorm it so it's viable.
