The Grow Diaries team is excited to introduce our brand-new strain catalog!

This catalog gives cannabis enthusiasts powerful tools to choose the perfect strain to cultivate or consume without feeling overwhelmed by the vast and intricate world of today's cannabis options.

Main Page

Let's begin with the main page. It features buttons for the most popular categories, such as types, THC levels, and main effects. By clicking them, you can instantly access a specific category.

Big filter buttons for major categories

Below that, there's an additional filter. This tool allows you to fine-tune your selection by filtering strains in the catalog based on multiple features, such as effects, flavors, growth characteristics, and more.

You can also use the search bar to directly look up the name of a strain you want to explore.

Strain Page

Once you've found a strain that piques your interest, click on it to access its dedicated page, which provides a wealth of information, including:

  • Indica/Sativa composition

  • Cannabinoid levels

  • Common effects and flavors

  • Medical conditions the strain is commonly used for

  • The strain's parent plants

Strain page

Additionally, we highlight the strain's lineage by showing its family tree, allowing you to trace its genetics over several generations.

Strain's family tree

Another exciting feature is a list of seed lines from different breeders, so you can select a trusted source for seeds of this particular strain.

Breeder products (seed lines) for this genetics

When creating this catalog, we aimed to make it a one-stop source of accurate and reliable information about the modern cannabis market. We hope you find it both helpful and enjoyable to use.

I appreciate the effort but I can't condone another strain catalog based off psuedo-science and decade-dated information. The current state of the market is exotic hybrids, even "landraces" pushed to consumers are fortified and stabilized. Even landraces in their source origins are mostly adulterated these days. The ratio of a plant's indica/sativa background is often not indicative of effect, unless you're extremely susceptible to the placebo effect. The growing methods (like when one chooses to harvest) and phenotype (which is a much more complex area of botany than most cannabis enthusiasts would care to admit or understand) play a bigger role in effect. Mathematically the ratio of indica/sativa is non-linearly correlated to effect, this is demonstrable across various fields where genetics is at play.

The strain catalog is probably not highly correlated to any plant labeled with a specific strain, but the problem is there's no regulation on how you name plants and the people invovled are uneducated science-deniers more times than not. So, you've bashed one psuedo-science and supported another psuedo-science. Etthos just makes up their own useless labels. Can't even stick to basics of mendellian genetics properly. They wouldn't recognize a punnet square if it slapped them in their face with their own genitals.

Still have to dig deeper into it, but at first glance I like it much more than the old layout. There seems to be more information available as well. That's very good! It looks like there was a lot of consideration going into the new version!

@Spike_KCanG A lot of user feedback and suggestions was factored in to make this possible. You can always contact us via email or the "contact us" form about bits that you want to see improved/reworked.

I don't know if I trust the data on this. Nice idea, Leafly already did it though, Most really special strains are rare phenotypes that work best as clones unless u got room to grow out 100's of plants. Like anything with this site, grain of salt, fun integration none the less.

I think what m0use implies is the fact --the only strain/phoenotype true to the mother-plant representing a particular 'strain' are clones/cuttings from that particular mother. Everything else? siblings at best and at worst; not even relatives, when you buy seeds from another breeder selling the same 'strain'.

The only data we can trust is the '... hybrid cannabis strain with a mysterious background ...' 👍😂.

they need to identify and have a category plus breeder info on clone only strains. or atleast have a separate category because the clones are a different league than the seed versions that come around after a strains been poplularized
