This review is written after real use, real effort, and real disappointment. I ran Purple City Genetics seeds (in particular Haight Afberry) alongside seeds from other breeders in the same exact grow run, under identical conditions, using proven germination methods and controlled environments. While seeds from other breeders germinated and performed as expected, Purple City Genetics showed unacceptably poor germination rates and weak viability. Multiple seeds failed outright. Let’s be clear: growers understand that not every seed will pop. That’s not the issue. The issue is consistency and quality control. When multiple seeds from the same pack fail while competitors’ genetics succeed under the same conditions, the problem is not the grower. Seeds are not cheap novelty items. They represent time, planning, emotional investment, and entire grow cycles. Selling seeds that cannot reliably germinate wastes all of that. Branding, hype, and reputation mean nothing if the product itself doesn’t perform. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Purple City Genetics. There are far too many breeders producing stable, viable seeds to justify gambling on genetics that fail at the most basic level. This review isn’t written out of emotion—it’s written out of experience. Until seed viability and quality control improve, I won’t be running or purchasing Purple City Genetics again.
