Week two is upon us ! I have a new pocket size humidifier and it works great!! The low temperatures of my nights already bring out some purple on the leaves. Im pleased to see this so early in its lifespan. Although i have to be careful not to stunt her with too cold nights. I mixed a 1/4 of the recommended dose of nutrients for her first feeding. By doing so im reducing the risk of nutrients burn. To be honest i will get a few burnt tips on the firs set of leaves but id rather have a bit too much then less at this stage. The first leaves will drop first so i wont mind them being less attractive. The internode distance is good for a indica so far and i am pleased of the results so far. The glasses i use are yellow tinted and apparently they do a good job at correcting the colours for spotting deficiencies

Happy weekend everyone. Hope you and your plants are all healthy. On Tuesday this week I decided to flip to flower as I believe both of these strains like to stretch a fair bit. Let's see if that is the case. Gave them all a big plain water and trimmed off fan leaves before flipping. They looked very bare and I had the panic of thinking that I may have taken too many fan leaves. The humidity went up to 65% at one point because of it. So I cranked my little heater up to raise the temperature and drop the humidity. They have gained a lot of fan leaves back in their first four days of stretch and the humidity is coming back down accordingly. PHEW!!!!! I feel these next few weeks will be crucial and will really shape how this grow will finish up. Y'all gotta pray for me 😂. See you all next week. Alright grow cycle, mistakes, improvements, etc... She did stay in veg for too long, her growth was slow and not the best and so she took quite long, next time i'll be there from the beginning so I can take care of her throughout. But her growth is really fun. It is a tall growing sativa with fairly tight noding when trained accordingly, producing long filled colas. The buds grow fairly dense and fluffly but do air out a little when dried. Trichome production was pretty impressive as well as terpene production. She had thrips since her early days but did not seem to mind them at all. I did spray them initially but once flower started I stopped. I believe predatory mites might have been feeding on the pupae in the soil, if that is what this specific species of thrips did, the reason I say that is I could never see adults only larvae. Whatever the case maybe they were there but the population never really increased. Something I did not mention during the grow is that those plants were played music during the days, music that is apparently developed for plants. The 10L pot was WAY too small for a true sustainable living organic and to provide enough space for the plant, that was a mistake, I'd say a 20L would be the bare minimum and still. The bigger the better. The hempy transfer did not hurt the plant and I believe even helped to some extent, BUT, I am still running test on the subject and so can't confirm anything, here are my observations Roots did not colonize the perlite, a little on top and the sides but that was it, I was expecting to see a big root mass in there. I believe hempy are great for salt fert as it hold a soup of nutes where the plant can feed from since the coco only holds very little Whereas in nature most nutrient are in the top soil where the highest amount of decomposition happens, this is where the highest microbial activity happens and so where the plant will find food. Living organic is trying to reproduce nature and so there is no need for the plant's roots to gather at the bottom of the pot. Although it could have potentially provided the plant access to a larger amount of water and possibly more oxygenation of the pot. Those are all theories, please speak up if you have other proofs. In conclusion , unless i get proven otherwise by someone or my latest running experiment , I will not be using hempies again as I believe it brings more complication and issues than a simple fabric pot. The lights, The 600w at the start was good, then I decided to add a 400w...😂 That was completely overkill and not necessary. Waste of electricity. And they started suffering from too much light it seems at some point, I raised the light by a good 30 cm and they were fine. 600 is more than enough. I am happy about how the soil performed but it has room for improvements. As for the watering technique I have been watering large ammount every few days, next time I will be giving constant small amount of water each day and a soak every week or so, I believe the soil might perform better under those conditions. She was also an easy plant to harvest whit her long colas which had very little foliage, I do trim in excess as I like my buds extra clean but the buds are not excessively bushy. The trims were use to make some bubble hash, around 100g of wet trims yielded around 1.5-2g of bubble hash. I did add a negative effect but only because it wouldn't give me a smile otherwise, but to be honnest it barely dries your mouth. The soil is going to be recycled and reused in a next grow. I can't think of anything else at the moment but if you have any question don't hesitate.

This week I harvested the top of one lady and the others are getting bigger every day, now I want to start the flush so I can harvest all of them next week or maximally in two weeks.

I have not experienced any deficiencies the tips are turning purple but that’s because my night temps drop to the low 70s even to 69F. I took cuts of these girls again. Week 10

Everything seems to be coming along nicely feed them some great white today, steady growth after topping and no sign of flower so all good.

This girl is about finished here sister came out to about a 1 1/2 ounce hopefully this big girl is more overall good experience I don't have to say I will be doing these again because I already have 2nd and 3rd generation clones who am I tho I. Just a newbie 😌 lol

Week 7 is finished, end is near, 3 weeks to go. Nothing much to report. Fungus gnats are bugging me for sure, but the plants seem fine. Need to get them under control after this run. Lights are at 18” dimmed to around 65%, hopefully for a measurement of about 650 ppfd. They were at 75%, but plants were showing signs of stress so I dimmed them. Just watering using tap water, not ph’d, through drip on a timer. Hand water once a week with Gaia Green Soluble Seaweed Extract 0-0-17. Light still breaking through canopy in spots. Lots of leaves, but not much bud sites below. No need to remove big leaves yet. Thanks for the view, happy growing!

Still looking fair. I'm waiting for the fourth node before I top it the first time. Day 13 the fourth node was out yesterday so I topped it for the first time to begin mainlining. Transplanting into the final container (7 gallon fabric pot) to continue indoor growth until it's warm enough to send it outdoors

03/10/25. Start week 2 flower or day 8 Again…going with these definitely are based off candy and not size. She’s stretched 8 inches already. Her sister, Mellow yellow, is the same height. As usual she’s still yellow lol. Both seem to be more shy than their friends about showing some buds. Lots of white hairs sprouting all over. I’m sure they’ll be showing up any time now. These things are so bushy and leafy they almost look like some kinda big plant that you’d just see near some piece of art in the corner of your house. Anyhow, they’re drinking a gallon and a half about every 4 days. Usually feed every other water but these were getting a bit of spots around leaf edges.. that I’m thinking is potassium deficiency. So, didn’t skip feeding and actually increasing by going early with green sensation at half dose. The bottle says 4 weeks and up, but if they’re lacking, what can it hurt? I’ve increased light intensity to about 75% and they’re currently 13 inches from it. Going to raise it up some in the morning, as this seems a bit close for the moment. That about covers it for now. ✌️✌️
