Here comes the first Preflower Update

A plant with both standard cellular respiration (occurring throughout the plant, including leaves and stems) and adequate root respiration will have a significantly higher ATP throughput than one restricted to only general cellular respiration in a limited way. Cellular respiration is the fundamental metabolic process that occurs in all living plant cells (roots, stems, leaves, flowers, seeds) to convert glucose into usable energy (ATP). It requires oxygen and produces carbon dioxide and water as byproducts. Root respiration is not a separate type of respiration, but rather a specific instance of cellular respiration occurring in the roots. Roots absorb oxygen from the air spaces in the soil to fuel their energy needs. Roots require a substantial amount of ATP for essential functions like nutrient and water absorption, as well as growth and maintenance of their tissues. The primary form of respiration in healthy plant roots is aerobic respiration, which is highly efficient, yielding up to 30-38 ATP molecules per glucose molecule. Anaerobic Respiration (Inefficient): If roots are deprived of oxygen (e.g., in waterlogged soil), they switch to anaerobic respiration, which is far less efficient, producing only 2 ATP molecules per glucose molecule and also generating alcohol, which can be toxic and kill the plant. Therefore, a plant with healthy, oxygenated roots performing efficient aerobic respiration in addition to the rest of the plant's cellular respiration has a much greater overall ATP production and energy capacity. A soil without organic matter will generally have a low Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). Biochar is often prized for its potential to increase soil cation exchange capacity (CEC), but this effect is highly dependent on the specific properties of the biochar (feedstock and pyrolysis temperature) and the soil type to which it is applied. High-ash biochars, especially those produced at lower temperatures and applied to acidic or sandy soils, can significantly boost CEC by providing abundant binding sites for cations like calcium (Ca²⁺), magnesium (Mg²⁺), and potassium (K⁺). Biochar is more sustainable than typical organic matter for long-term soil improvement primarily due to its high stability and resistance to microbial decomposition, allowing it to persist in the soil for hundreds to thousands of years. This longevity provides a lasting positive effect on soil properties, particularly by increasing the cation exchange capacity (CEC) over time, while regular organic matter breaks down much faster. Biochar generally offers a much higher CEC than coco coir, though specific values vary greatly; while coco coir might sit around 40-60 cmol/kg, biochar can range from tens to over 200 cmol/kg, with sources like Acacia wood biochar or even coconut shell biochar often surpassing coco's capacity due to its porous structure, creating significantly more cation-binding sites for nutrients, making it superior for nutrient retention. Needs to be charged similar to coco but at a much higger rate. But shhhh.. It's a secret. Ancient biochar-rich soils in the Amazon basin (known as Terra Preta) provide evidence of carbon stability lasting over 500 to 2,000+ years. Recommend a balanced ratio of key cations, particularly calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and potassium (K). A widely accepted general "ideal soil" cation saturation ratio is approximately 65-85% Ca, 6-12% Mg, and 2-5% K. That's roughly what I give mine. Can even add N in its NH4+ form

26.05.2026 Hi Growmies! Finally, it’s that time again, my friends! The grow season has begun, and I’m so excited to take this journey with you. This year, I’m growing three Fast Buds strains (Leftovers from last year): Apricot, Tangie, and Papaya Cookies. The germination kicks off on my windowsill, in small pots of about 0.25 liters, filled with Biobizz Light Mix. I can’t wait to see them sprout as I add mycorrhiza to the planting hole. Once they’re strong, I’ll transplant them into 15-liter fabric pots with Plagron Bat Mix. After that, they’ll move outside into my greenhouse, where they’ll fully flourish under the sun. I can’t wait to see what this season brings! All three seeds germinated (as always) although the seeds are from last years grow.I don’t use any additional lights; the natural sunlight is perfect right now. I keep them on the windowsill in the morning, and during the day, I move them to the back of my balcony where they get plenty of sun. Sun has been out and the plants have been growing. Accidentally misread the dosage of fish force but they were able to handle it. I also just received some advanced nutrients, Carboload and Tarantula. It says to give tarantula at the beginning of the veg and flowering state but I was late..Still thought I would give it a try. I also have some leaf discoloration on Walvisje, its just half the leaf. Pictures wil come later! 07/14- Supercropped Pumpkin Scone yesterday, may have gone a little overboard but she still looked good today regardless..

Despite slight damage by overzealous gardener with a weed wacker, causing shot through holes and torn leaves, the plants are doing OK. Supplemented feed on two different days with 7.5 ml/gallon Cytokin and 30 ml/gallon molasses. Had to remove visible eggs of unknown insect on several leaves (I hope it's not a beneficial). Increased but not overwhelming leaf miner damage. I need to start measuring these for height and width. The growth seems to have slowed but I am also on leave and observing the plants more so I don't know if it as situation where a watched pot never boils.

Another wonderful week goes by :-). The lady is developing very well. The flowers begin to develop properly and already smell very nice 🙂. The day before yesterday was the last time 1 g of GHSC Powder Feeding per L substrate was added :-). That should last to the end now. Of course, she continues to receive GHSC enhancers 👍 every 14 days. The tent was cleaned every day just like the humidifier was refilled every day. It is week 4 of flowering, and both plants are now receiving 1.5 ml/L of Calmag. I suspect this was due to the cold temperatures falling below 19°C during the dark phase, which prevented the Calmag from being transported properly. However, since the outdoor temperatures are currently rising to around 12 °C at night and 20 °C in the tent when the lamp is off, this should solve the Calmag problem.

The plant was planted in a larger pot, which has approx. 60-70 liters of which approx. 70% Bio bizz light mix and 30% Bio bizz Wurm humus were used. The plant was tied down with a scrog net and slightly defoliated. It should work through the stress for another 2-3 days and then it will start flowering.

The black cherry gushers has a really amazing smell I can’t put my finger on what it is but trust me. I also like the nodal spacing just a strong pretty plant for sure.

The solution temperature is a cozy 21 degrees, creating the perfect environment for nutrient uptake. And of course, the pH is a stable 5.9, maintaining that sweet spot for nutrient absorption. Feeding these plants is an absolute joy, especially with the Aptus Holland veg mix. It's like giving them a gourmet meal tailored to their exact needs. I can see the difference it's making in their lush, green foliage and sturdy stems. Every day, I'm amazed by the progress these plants are making. It's like watching a masterpiece unfold before my eyes—a true testament to the power of nature and the wonders of cultivation. Holaa, cuarta semana de la Negra44. Esta semana hubieron varios cambios. Primero hice el segundo y ultimo transplante a una maceta de 7 lt al hacer esto aplique Great white en contacto directo con las raíces. Luego le hice LST y al día siguiente le realice una defoliación para dar mas espacio a las ramas que pretendo mantener. Hago los riegos 1/1, uno solo con agua(EC: 0.4) y el otro con los fertilizantes. En los riegos estoy utilizando Sensi cal-mag para llegar a una EC base de 0.4 y luego aplicar los fertilizantes. Regulo el PH con los reguladores de BioBizz. Decidí sacar la malla para Scrog por la poca homogeneidad de las plantas en la carpa. Pretendo hacer esta semana la primera aplicación de Delta9 (estimulante floral) la cual será de manera foliar, está se hace 10 días antes de cambiar el ciclo de luz a 12/12. Va quedando menos para la esperada floración. Estos días está haciendo más frio por lo que la temperatura en mí carpa a bajado, no puedo hacer mucho frente a esto así que espero que no afecte tanto. La única solución seria alguna fuente de calor pero la cuenta de luz se me dispararía. Por lo demás todo va bien, no presenta carencias ni ningún posible problema. Se a adaptado muy bien a los cambios de esta semana y ya esta creciendo con mas vigorosidad. Cualquier recomendación sera bien recibida!! *Great White se mide en gramos. (Dosis: 1gr/3lt)

Ende Woche 7 – Anfang Woche 8 | Grow Diary Mimosa x 🍊 👊🏻 von Barney’s Farm Der Grow neigt sich langsam aber sicher dem Ende entgegen und man merkt jetzt richtig, dass die Ladies ihre letzten Kräfte in die Buds stecken. Die Blätter werden mittlerweile immer gelber, was für diese Phase absolut normal ist, da die Pflanzen anfangen ihre Reserven aufzubrauchen. Deshalb werde ich diese Woche den Dünger Schritt für Schritt herunterfahren, bevor es dann in der letzten Woche nur noch Wasser geben wird. Noch ungefähr zwei Wochen bis zur Ernte – die Spannung steigt langsam. Ab jetzt werden natürlich täglich die Trichome kontrolliert, damit der perfekte Erntezeitpunkt nicht verpasst wird. Die Buds legen aktuell trotzdem noch ordentlich an Dichte zu und wirken von Tag zu Tag kompakter. Der Geruch wird ebenfalls immer intensiver und die Mimosa x Orange Punch zeigt jetzt nochmal richtig, was in ihr steckt. Bin gespannt, wie die letzten Tage noch laufen werden. Ztrawberries= as you can see from the pic and video these girls are skyrocketing climbing almost an inch a day. Showing good signs of pre flower, very impressed with dominant heads coming through on all these ladies 👌🏽 Tropicana cookies = These girls are just showing off there stretch rate match that of the ztrawberries and it’s and impressive spectacle to watch also showing good signs of pre flower Cherry Cola = These girls seem a week slower than the rest none of the less they are showing a decent amount of heads just no signs of any stretch. O.N = Ztrawberries and Tropicana Cookies have had some defoliation not really touched Cherry Cola so I don’t cause any unnecessary stress. EC increased from 1.1 to 1.3. Very happy this week!!

I thought it may have been overwatering but at the same time I don't want to kill off the microbe life in my soil right now by letting it get overly dry. I'm more experienced with coco and the dry back is more aggressive and intense and with soil it's a little different and slower but it als9 cant dry back as
