Replaced the water and nutrients in the DWC and increased nutrient strength. Had some leaf stress and burning from light height and intensity. (new LED light)
Changed out water and nutrient solution and trimmed lower leaves that were burned and stressed. Installed thermostat and heater as weather is getting really cold. Set the heater to 70F - 77F
Replaced the water and nutrients, and cleared some of the bigger leaves so more of the plant is exposed to the lights. Then chopped the tops and started the process of tying down the main stem and spreading out some of the smaller branches with clips.
I replaced the nutrients and water; this time, I mixed the nutrients the day before. I've also dropped the water level in the DWC buckets by 3cm to try and give roots more oxygen. The lights were raised by another 10cm and increased brightness from 25% to 50%. Due to our cold spell and the location of the tent finding it hard to keep the temperature consistently above 70+
The plants have just started flowering, so I switched nutrients to Cann Classic Flores and did my last trim. Plants are a lot smaller than expected not sure if it's the nutrients or light intensity which I'm still keeping at 50%. As this is the first grow in this new setup, I'm not concerned. But will try Canna Aqua next time.
This week, I added a pump to move the nutrients around, as I felt the reservoir tank was not being used. Replaced all the water nutrients and added a small amount of other grow products (see list above). Flowers are coming along nicely now that the light is 100% and maintaining a temperature over 70.
I gave them a bit of a trim, and all seems to be doing well, with loads of budding sites all over the plants. The only difference this week is that I did not replace all the water for fresh. Very Happy with the progress.
So pleased with the growth, this week I put a net up to separate out the buds a bit and trimmed the plants to try and get more light to the lower buds. Instead of replacing the water, I'm now directly recycling and adding nutrients and additives. I found the easiest way was to pump the system out into another bucket so I could measure more accurately how much to add and then replace the mix back in the system. The grow room smells wonderful. I'm so looking forward to when I can try it.
I completely changed the water and nutrients this week and added some Canna PK13/14. I have also added another MARS Hydro TW2000 light to the tent to try and get more light to the lower buds. Gave both plants a trim also for the same reason. I was concerned they were still not ready to harvest, but expert advice from FastBuds420 told me they probably needed a further 4 weeks. And I will give them an update and the information they requested. I think it's probably because I had the lights turned down to 25% during the veg stage and only at 50% for the early flowering stage; it was not till recently, about 3 weeks, I think the lights got turned up to 100%.
I gave the plants a good trim to try and get more light to the lower buds and replaced the water and nutrients, negating the CANNA PK13/14. Buds are starting to take shape and smell fantastic—hopefully, I can harvest them in another couple of weeks. I have learned a lot from this grow and will be applying all the knowledge gained into the next.
Just another week gone by, replaced all the water and nutrients. Trichomes are still all glassy and have had loads of new shoots and buds. Such a great smell in the tent; hoping to harvest within the next couple of weeks.
The final week will be just topping up the system with pure water and flushing out the plants ready to be harvested at the end of the week. Buds are starting to turn frosty.
Very easy to grow, and I'll grow this again in the future. The other plant was a cherry cola auto, which was an incredible plant (1169 grams wet) No need to be patient for a week to dry, then 2 more weeks curing in jars. Will report back on the quality of the smoke
