Cal-Mag Deficiency Adjustment – Pheno #5’s Special Needs This week started with a close inspection of our phenos, and we noticed that Pheno #5 was showing early signs of a calcium/magnesium deficiency. Whether it was slightly off VPD levels or this particular plant being more demanding, we decided to correct it by increasing the dose of RO Water Conditioner. Now, while this isn’t a direct substitute for Cal-Mag, it does contain trace amounts that can help stabilize the situation. 🔬 Understanding Cal-Mag Deficiency: Calcium and magnesium are essential secondary nutrients. Calcium strengthens cell walls, preventing issues like tip burn and weak stems, while magnesium plays a critical role in chlorophyll production, allowing plants to efficiently absorb light energy. 💡 Signs of Deficiency: • Yellowing between veins (Magnesium) • Rust spots on leaves (Calcium) • Slow growth and weak stems ⚡ How We Address It: • Slightly increasing RO Water Conditioner to see if trace minerals help • Keeping an eye on overall nutrient uptake to ensure no lockout • Monitoring VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) closely to optimize nutrient absorption Let’s see how she reacts next week! Branching Development – Pheno #2 Leading the Race All five phenos are thriving, but Pheno #2 is showing the most aggressive branching, pushing outward faster than her sisters. However, overall, we’re seeing very uniform growth, which speaks volumes about the stability of these genetics. 🌱 What is Branching & Why It Matters? Branching is the plant’s way of expanding its canopy, increasing surface area for photosynthesis, and maximizing potential bud sites. Well-structured branches allow better airflow, light penetration, and more even growth—key for a successful high-yield harvest. ⚖️ Topping vs. Leaf Bending – The Training Choice Instead of topping, I’ve decided to go with leaf bending for now. This method allows for gentle manipulation of the plant’s growth without causing major stress. Once we introduce the SCROG (Screen of Green) net, this training will help maximize the canopy spread. 📆 Semana 11 La Auto Pablo Escobar llegó a su punto justo. Tricomas en su mayoría lechosos con un 20% ámbar, los pistilos ya marrones y retraídos. Olor muy penetrante y dulce, con tonos terrosos y algo especiados. La planta respondió muy bien al lavado en la última semana y dejó ver unas flores compactas y bien resinosas. En general, cultivo fácil, ciclo rápido, y muy buena producción para una automática. I put the plants into an NFT system couple weeks ago. I could have waited a bit longer for the plants to develop a stronger root system before placing the rockwool cubes into NFT but I was being impatient because of the slow start and wanted to get the plants under proper light. Now two weeks later they are growing well with good root development. I switched the lights to flowering cycle about a week ago so they should start stretching soon. No preflowers yet.

Bending the plant makes it stronger

So, they streched a lot, I had to bend severely. And so quick, like 5 cms in a day! They touch the light, I had no more room... I did a late FIM on 2 of them.... emergency I finally found a way to get the lamp 5 cms higher. Lukily it has stabilized but still, top of the buds are at 5 cms from light!!!! That's why I decided to drop the power at 50% and I lower the day light to 16 hours.

And the third week of flowering is behind me, Watermelon has begun to stagnate in growth so a height of about 70 cm is the maximum it will reach. 😎 At the end of the week I did a defoliation, I removed the lower leaves and branches and some of the leaves inside the plant itself, which were already very yellow. I’m still not sure what is the cause of the brown spots and leaf decay. If it’s an excess of nutrients, then the conclusion is that Purple Punch (which keeps her company in the Box) is much more resistant than Watermelon. Another possible cause is nicotine disease, because in the plant itself, there is an opening through which air enters the Box, and if there is a lot of tobacco in the room in front, it is possible. 😟 If anyone is reading this text, and has an idea of ​​the cause of leaf decay, I ask him for advice. 🙏 The flowers develop nicely, are full of already visible trichomes and begin to take on an increasingly intense scent. I got at least 2 vids this time , in the next week a lil bit more , i use the whole hesi nutrient pack btw and are really impressed what LED and a noob scrog grow results to , don´t get me wrong but its a huge difference to hps and some untopped plants under it ;) , happy about all feedback btw. The small growing Orange Lemon in mid seems to have a lot more haze DNA . Left Gran Jefa, right back Fullgas , right Front and mid Lemon Orange.

Most of them made it only 1 six shooter definitely didnt make it and a cream cookies is a lil stuck. I threw a mexican airlines in the old six shooter cup but just letting it germinate in the soil I havnt done that in a while. They are going to get another feed tmm. The medium is a 50/50 coco/soil mix since I'm using the green buzz and its organic I figured a little soil might be beneficial. Day 7 from germination they should be ready to go into their final pots in the next few days.

High, finally, after 65 days of flowering, they were ready to get their final cut. I flushed 16 days. Das war die letzte Woche der GorillaAuto. An sich sehr vollgepackt mit Blüten. Leider etwas viele kleine Blätter die zwischen den Blüten gewachsen sind. Die musste man regelmäßig entfernen damit es nach Regentagen das Wasser besser wegtrocknet und man dem Schimmel etwas vorbeugt. Es waren echt viele von diesen kleinen Blättern... Hier und da waren ein paar Stellen die vom Schimmel betroffen waren. Ich denke das lässt sich outdoor nicht komplett vermeiden. Besonders nicht bei dem verregneten Sommer den wir hier dieses Jahr haben. Für die letzten Tage wurde die GorillaAuto an Regentagen reingeholt damit die buds nicht unnötig nass werden auf die letzten Tage und vielleichtnoch hier und da schimmel entsteht. Für die Zeit drinnen hat ein 5Watt Ventilator für Umluft gesorgt und eine 20W Anzuchtlampe die für etwas Tageslicht sorgt. Das Substrat wurde nur noch so minimal feucht gehalten das das Substrat nicht austrocknet.

With this strain I vegged for 5 weeks and flowered for just over 10 weeks. The plants produced some impressive size buds with minimal popcorn bud. The buds are coated in trichomes which produce a sweaty-like resin which I haven’t seen before. Man this plant is LOUD - I loved it.

Its day 25 since sproud and the plants are looking good so far. The jslow stress training with the clips works as expected and the branches are getting thicker and more robust. Defoliation on day 34. I collected leave mold from the surrounding woods. a lot of white fungy hopefully usefull mycoriza.

Just keep watering as it drys. Supporting buds along the way that are getting too heavy. Smells like skunk and gas. Little fruit but not much. Trics still getting thick. Look forward to it finishing. Tricomes still cloudy. Little amber on sugar leaves but it's still going strong. Some leave fading finally to fall colors.

The Pineapple Express is ready to come out soon and has started her flush with crystal clear , it tastes as good as it looks , I’ve pulled a bit more off to smoke ( the last pic ) . She’s got some purple coming out and is absolutely stacked in trichomes and sticky to the touch . The Gorilla Zkittles is another 2 weeks behind and will love getting the place to herself next week , she’s so stinky it burns your nose but every now and then that fruit orchards smell will come thru , she’s starting to fill out nicely and is standing a bit over 1.2 metres, I’ll spread her out some next week when I have the space and keep feeding her for another two weeks . For now it’s drier sheets at the exhaust vent and and giving these two a great finish.
