As of day 14, the Blackberry Kush is still exhibiting it's abnormal leaf growth. I've only ever seen this on another genetically purple strain, so I am curious if there is a connection. If anyone has seen similar issues in their own plants let me know! It's growth hasn't been too bad, and I am sure it's going to continue to take off over the next week! I usually top my plants between day 14 and 21, so i am hoping it is growing vigorously enough to prevent any stunting. I haven't seen any adverse effects from temporarily switching to my plentiful dry cal-mag, so I am happy about that so far! I am still adding a similar EC worth of Cal mag (.5) so it's good to have dialed in a rough equivalent. I hope everyone is staying safe, and happy growing! 👍🌱 Day 15: the leaf growth continues to be very screwy, and even if it's at least partially a genetic issue I continue to triple check all my practices and parameters. The PH drifts up mildly in my reservoirs between cleaning/remixing of nutrients, but it is going from roughly a 5.8 up to a 6.2 (at worst) with no change in the EC/PPM. Between the lack of EC drift and lack of smell, I don't think there are any major bacterial issues. The outflow PH is also acceptable (5.8) and the outflow EC is around .2-.3 above inflow, which is also acceptable. I dug into the coco a little bit, and the medium is not oversaturated with water (it is always a bit "fluffy" with good drainage and never compacted) and the roots are white and healthy. With the healthy vigorous growth of the other Blackberry in the same conditions, it brings me back to this being at least partially a genetic issue. I looked through grow questions of other diaries for similar leaf issues, and it seemed that most were either blueberry or blackberry strains from a range of breeders. This could be purely a coincidence, but it does make me wonder. The grows with similar issues seemed to otherwise have no commonalities in how they were grown. I am going to keep trying my best with this plant regardless, so I hope it pulls through alright! Day 17: being very careful with my PH and keeping it a bit lower, to rule it out as a possible cause of the twisted leaves and less vigorous growth. I am keeping it between 5.5 and 6 for the time being to make sure there is no lock out of micro elements like boron. As per the comments, I am being more accurate be using a pH pen as opposed to drops which I may have misjudges. I topped the plant, which is definitely a risk! But I am hoping for some healthier leaves to come in, and the plant hasn't stunted so far! It has grown the number of nodes it should have for its age, it just not as filled in and lush as I would like it to be. Day 19: I have been monitoring PH especially carefully, taking a few measurements per day and keeping it between 5.6 and 5.8 (a little on the low side). The runoff is consistently under 6 as well. EC and other conditions have stayed where they should be as well. I reduced any PH drift by running the air pump for the res 24/7, instead of just for mixing and before fertigations to rule that out. But I haven't seen any overall improvements for the leaves so I am reverting back to my theory of a genetic issue with this particular plant. It's growing larger and it's stems are thickening, so I'm just going to keep it growing as well as I possibly can and see what it yields!

Love this strain, will be growing again for SURE!. I can't wait to smoke and press this flower, she is sticky, stinky, and dense..... Perfect strain for mainlining/manifolding. Only took me 3.5 hours to wet trim, and she should yield around 12 zips of frosty sticky nugs. Sweet Seeds knocked it out of the park, and I am a huge fan of African Tai, which is in this lady, and I can't wait to give a smoke report.... Tropicanna Poison XL Auto- Outside W10F6 8/17-23 This past week has been rainy and overcast from a tropical storm with temperatures mostly in the upper 80s. We have Hurricane Erin approaching the Bahamas heading northeast with wind gusts of 30-40 MPH. While we won’t be directly hit by the storm, we will get the outer bands of heavy winds and rain. To protect my plants, I brought all the girls inside on Tuesday 19th in preps for the storm. I inspected each one for bugs, rot or anything unusual. She is free and clear of any rot or bugs 8/19 Tropicanna Poison XL auto is 53 days from germination. Sweet Seeds says 60-75 days to harvest so she needs about a week more. Next week with the hurricane approaching, we are expecting rain for most of the week. Given the pending weather conditions for the next couple of weeks, the remainder of the grow will be in the tent where I can control the environment. I also will be using the air conditioner to drop nighttime temperature and maybe bring out pink and red colors. The stems show pink so I’m hopeful. 3 autos are getting cut this week probably the last watering today. The other 4 are a few weeks behind. The big Photos are straight monsters Ethos genetics are amazing 👏. They are in week 2 since flip. The small photos are around week 5 or 6 veg they just got put under their own light for the first time SF7000 doing 50% at about 22" just to see how they react to the new light. They were also translated and topped yesterday.

Las vacaciones complican tealizar el seguimiento de manera prolija, pero ahí seguimos. Aclaro nuevamente que 2 de las plantas (fancy) estan en periodo 12/12 hace 15 días. El resto está esperando que baje un poco la temperatura para transplantar a exterior y comenzar floración.

had a bit of a nightmare. bit much on over water and may have had a nutrient lockout. took one sweet cherry pie out and replaced with seedsman northern lights auto. also added a few more of those in the tent 5th dec. was unfortunate as this week was for topping. went ahead and did it. will be very careful next week. Purple berry Kush came on strong this week. took the nutrients fine. less damage from over water.

Coming along well, Day 43 Flower, I've dimmed the lights 10% using a Kill*A*Watt meter. Nutrient wise I've changed it up for the final stretch, to the gallon of 180ppm city tap water, I've reduced Maxibloom to 1/2 teaspoon, I've began adding 1/4 teaspoon KoolBloom powder and 2-3 teaspoons of Diamond Nectar Humic Acids. I don't need to add ph up or down as this mixture puts my ph @ 6.3, EC is currently 1.7. each plant receives a minimum of 1 gallon per day, more often they receive a gallon and a quarter or half, applied with a garden sprayer a quart or 1/2 gallon at a time throughout the day, usually about every 3 hours. I keep about an inch of water in the trays below the plants, roots have penetrated the bottoms of the pots and are in the nutrient solution below-I drain this off completely every 2-3 days to keep it fresh-I've followed this routine many times before with no ill effect, as a matter of fact the plants seem to thrive even more-so I stopped fighting it.

week intel: we had some dear guests of family from foreign country to meet again after years so i had to make some free space for their stuff therefore girls are going to be gusts too for a week in their neighbors home :D some times unpredicted things happen you must be ready to change at any time , so i moved some and chopped off weak ones stresses : E.C stress around 1.2 3 times per week feeding: replaced b-52 with Bloom base nutrient i feed them 3 times this week with this order : day 1 : i feed them high with base nutrients(calcium & micros (half dose) + Bloom) about 631 ppm - 1.2 e.c to cause a little stress. day 3 : i feed them high dose of Top-Max + Bloom Base nutrient around 600 ppm - 1.2 e.c to let them recover a little but not fully recover still a little stress will caused. day 5 : i feed them high dose of Feeding Booster around 630 ppm - 1.2 e.c to cause stress this last week guide of the week : we are in the final phases of this run , i'm happy about quality but depressed about quantity :D

A great week of growth and development. Did a small defoliation, and clean of the tent. The girls are very leafy, and some of that needed to go to increase air flow and prevent issues from developing. Love this time of growing as there is not much to do, but watch the buds stack!
