I started feeding liquid nutrients this week. Although I’m using Nature’s Living Soil Super Soil Autoflower Concentrate mixed with Fox Farm Ocean Forest—so technically I could water only until harvest—I decided to begin liquid feeding in Week 3 at half the recommended dose. I also have a Tray2Grow Autopot system for automatic bottom feeding, but I haven’t activated it yet. When using liquid nutrients via top feeding, I’d need to turn the Autopot system off and wait until the plants absorb all the water in the tray before feeding from the top. Afterward, I’d have to manually turn the system back on. That seems like a hassle compared to just hand-watering and feeding. I could technically add the liquid nutrients to the Autopot reservoir, but that somewhat defeats the purpose of the system. The tank holds 25 gallons—enough to last a few weeks—but if I want to change or rotate nutrients weekly, I’d have to dump the remaining water and remix the solution each time. If I wanted to feed nutrients every other watering, I’d be changing out the tank every 3 days. Plus, liquid nutrients can cause buildup, so I’d need to clean the reservoir and all the tubing regularly. For now, I’ll stick with hand-watering and top feeding. I’ll only switch to the Autopot system if I need to leave town.

Still drinking a lot of water this week but getting close to finishing. I adjusted the light to turn of another 30 minutes sooner this week, to 11/13. I also cut back on feeding to only cal-mag that helps ph my water down. I did a little bit of cleanup on the bottom anything that the plant is done utilizing for mobile nutrients. Getting dense and frosty, the buds were starting to flop a little towards the end of the week. They really got thirsty the 3rd day after watering. I been letting it dry back slightly more each time. Struggling to keep humidity below 50-60 percent, So utilizing higher nighttime temps to help with taming it.

The first official week of flowering is complete. During this phase, the plant showed a noticeable stretch and transitioned from a very compact structure into a more open, light-efficient canopy. At the beginning of the week, only a few tops were clearly defined, while most bud sites were still in early pre-flower stages. Over the course of the week, this changed significantly: multiple bud sites became active and started to develop visibly. The distribution of tops across the canopy is very even, which is a direct result of early training (topping + LST). Stretch averaged around ~1 cm per day, with a slight acceleration toward the end of the week. Current plant height is approximately 32 cm. Despite the relatively short overall height, the vertical growth of individual branches improved light penetration and overall efficiency. The structure remains compact but no longer overly dense. Internodal spacing is moderate, indicating a more indica-leaning phenotype. At the same time, the branches appear strong enough to support future bud development. The plant is responding well overall. After a brief adjustment phase (water/light changes), it has returned to active growth with healthy leaf structure. Leaf color is a consistent, healthy green with no visible deficiencies or signs of overfeeding. Actions & Setup: • Increased light intensity (prime position in the tent) • Light defoliation to expose bud sites • Nutrients still in transition phase (2-2-2 to 2-2-3.5 ratio) • Bud Candy introduced • Big Bud planned for next feeding Week Summary: A very solid first week of flowering. The stretch started slightly delayed but is now progressing well. With the number of bud sites and the even canopy structure, the plant shows strong yield potential despite its compact size. Focus for FW2: Maximize light utilization, introduce PK boost (Big Bud), and stabilize bud development.

Day 59, 1st of October 2020: All good CBD blue shark is bushy.... she will get 36 hours darkness in the end of the week so stars flowering. Purple Punch is basically ready but i want more amber trichomes let her maturing a bit more i think 1 week. I keep checking on her. Day 60, 2nd of October 2020: Alright so time has come; she needs to start flowering. Look at her the last picture (Day 60)📷 before I place her for 54 hours darkness I mean 17:00 o'lock on (today) Friday to 23:00 o'clock on Sunday. Can I count well? so ... 17:00 o'clock to 23:00 o'clock is 6 hours (23:00 o'clock lamp switches on) and next Saturday 23:00 o'clock is 24 hours and one more 24 hours is Sunday 23:00 o'clock 🤪 so 24+24+6 = 54!!!!! Yes!🤪🤪🤪 I have never been good at mathematics 🙃 Okay so I gave her a lot of water and also sprinkled the soil with bat guano before i put her in darkness. I added more nitrogen because she seems to be very hungry for that again and put her to 💤 😴 🛏️. Used royal queen seed fems popped 4 and 3 where successfully. Through veg stage no problems quite sturdy plants growth rate was the same on all round, had abit of nitrogen deficiency. Flower stage everything changed plants started to grow at different weeks and need separate feeds which became annoying, think this was done to pheno types being different. Drying stage: I used this new herb dryer called wedryer for to plants and hung the other in the tent. Wedryer works if you have small yield as can’t fit a lot, drys within a week though but also looses flavour. Have to wet trim bud and then leaves bud flat in one side due to them sitting on the dryer netting. Has fan with carbon filter which stops smells. (But myself prefer hang drying). Used trimbag to finish the buds off love this product and recommend to others to buy.

Oct 19: warm October continues and this plant will be harvested in a few days. Three days with snow starting 3 days from now so that’s it for the season. Drilled a couple of holes in the trunk. Idea is to stress the plant to spur trichome production. Did this before and not entirely sure it helps, but why not? Oct 20: these buds are getting stinkier and frostier just in time for the season here to end. Smell was quite noticeable this morning so I’ve bumped it up to Strong. All the buds are looking fairly frosty too so this Gelato is finishing strong. 👍👍 Oct 21: harvest day because in two days, Monday, it will be below zero all day and likely snow. Oh well, a longer than expected season allowed this gelato to finish fairly well. Trichomes are still white, and actually I rarely see amber trikes on my plants and I think that’s due the weak sunlight here in the fall. My best option here is to aim to harvest by the end of September. This plant was not billed as being fast flowering so I expected it to be a bit slow, plus it is a sativa pheno, so I feel lucky that it has finished as well as it did. The weather here was definitely good for cannabis this year with the only real hassle being wildfire smoke.

Day 81: My leaves are still brown but from what i understand when i fried them from the spray there is no coming back. But other than that the colas are and side sites are getting fatter. one of my colas did fall to the side and it snapped the branch, I taped it up however i hope that works. Lbvs other than that these girls have went to hell and back and still hanging in there and as everything is coming to a close im just trying not to mess them up to much. LOL. Miss Purple Mango Kush is looking really really good imo. She has grown on some nice big and dense buds. She smells super nice , and is almost ready for harvest. I will keep flushing her for the next couple of days, and keep checking with my lens until I want to cut her down.

Can’t find anything negative to report. Summer camp is going well. All girls are in stretch and looking like they’re going to be basketball players. All are on course to be tall for auto’s. The shortest is now the tallest, the Harvey Wallbanger is at 30 inches, the next is the 91 Grapes at 28 inches and bringing up the rear is the Vanilla Fizz at 26 inches tall. The weather has been a little hotter and drier past few days so the girls will either get a drink tomorrow or the next day. *** update August 2 Day 44 Girls are about half way through summer camp and have been in stretch for the last week. Big changes have happened with the Harvey W. Now five inches taller than the 91 Grapes and the Vanilla Fizz still being the shortest at 28 inches tall. All three girls have entered flower so additional stretch should be minimal (we will see). Lights have the option of adding different spectrums for specific effects, so added some blue to see if it doesn’t slow down the stretch (I think it will). Should help tighten up the nodes as well. Watered them once on Thursday morning with plain water ph of 6.0. Debating whether or not to top dress with bloom nutrients this next time or wait until stretch has stopped.

1 week left until i flip, the blue dream and white runtz are lagging behind but the pineapple express, and ghost train are begging for flower! day 54, and what a beautiful first grow it has been so far, these girls have responded well to all the punishment i could dish out in training and have responded with a beautiful even canopy. cannot wait to see them flower day 55, midday, lights are off for the next 36 hours to expedite the flowering process.
