How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. The opposite is not always true; indoor clones often give an outdoor grower headaches because they don't always make the transition smoothly. The same set of variables apply to expected outcomes regarding cannabinoid levels and terpene profiles. Q.What is the lineage? A. (Bigbud x Skunk#1) x (Big Sur Holy Weed x Banana Kush). I'm pretty sure that Freakshow contains some Trainwreck and some Maui Wowie based on some research I did on the origins of the Pineapple Express. Interestingly Big Sur Holyweed, OG Kush, Banana, Trainwreck, and Maui Wowie are all of unclear origins. We have to remember that these are all just names and that they don't really mean much. The exact heritage of any cultivar today is impossible to determine accurately. Also, considering the amount of continuous shameless hybridization that has occurred in the last 40 yrs., any modern kind could easily contain over 40 kinds. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. Appetite suppression is a side effect, but the enjoyment of food is enhanced. I personally will attest to all of the above. We all have different receptor profiles, so these are just generalizations. Couch unlock. Q. Is it pest and mildew resistant? A. Indeed it is. On many occasions in the last few years, it has been observed that when pest and mildew issues were affecting other plants adjacent to in the vicinity of Freakshow plants, for unknown reasons the freaks remained entirely unaffected. This includes 0botritis, PM, various mites and insects, soil fungus, etc. We haven't heard any complaints along those lines so far, so if anyone has any problems, especially with a rigorous IPM regimen in place, we would like to hear about it. And if anyone can attest to the extreme level of resistance it seems to have we'd love to hear about that as well. Q. Does it contain web-leaf genetics? A. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. Alright growmies 🤙🏻 so week 9 of veg been a lot longer than I expected but due to situations need to be adjusted. So we’re going to repot the runtz into 20litre pots this week and start flowering next week latest. All clones have successfully rooted and will be going into another smaller tent for the time being of flowering the rest. Few absolutely beautiful plants in here so far can’t wait to see what next few weeks look like, hopefully don’t run into hight issues due to stretching 😂👌🏻 well see

Day 36. Girls are flying !!! Was comparing my previous dairies here and they look really good, have in mind, two heavy waves of training involved, each time i had a bag full of leaves ... One more training and i think on day 42 its 24 hours of darkness and FLOWEEEEERRRR ;)) Day 37. Its hard to add anything, because everything going kind off well ;)))) Last night watered them with 6.2 ph, they stop drinking, at least as fast as before, usually my ph is 6.5-6.8, but sometimes i drop to 6.2-6.4 for one feed in a month or so ..SweetSeeds don't like that trick ... Still leaves praying, loads of new grows after each night , just Kushes overgrew others a bit. Will supercrop them soon. Day 39. All is going smooth, they drink biobizz nutes feed in one day, phed water in 2, so you would want to overfeed them, Kushes could eat more 4sure now. Installed last wall fan. Now setup is full... Kind off ;))) need to find exhaust silent and powerfull 5 inch fan ... Day 41. This is official - JUNGLES !!! ;) Change in plans : Killer Kushes are moved to veg/dry tent, Autos started there will come instead of them. Thinking that way ill lower canopy a bit and make more space for rest 8. Tomorrow it will be done together with heavy training for Skunks and Cheeses. They will be sent to flower at the end of next week. Happy Growing !

Not there yet checking trichomes starting this week. Probably have 2-3 weeks left. The strawberry pie continues to outshine the other strains. Gorilla glue is a close second with nice dense buds but not as many trichomes. The grapefruit may be a late maturing plant it seems like it’s starting to stack up but has a long way to go I’m guessing 4-5 weeks so not so impressed with the grapefruit for an auto. The grapefruit is acting more like a photo as you can see in the pictures the tallest plants are grapefruit. Only time will tell but I like autos for there fast turn around time if I wanted a plant that takes 12-14 weeks I would get photos and get bigger yields.

-was on vacation for a week -plants got watered every other day by my sister -noticed some spots on leafs as well as yellow leafs -defoliated some yellow leafs and leafs that didnt get enough light -put the light on 12/12 today and will start with biobizz in a few days -Whats does the spots on the leafs mean? Happy about every comment :)

So, the big day finally came!💚 I harvested the plant and got her cut and hung up to dry. But before that, she spent a solid 72 hours in complete darkness to finish off. (A little boost before the chop)🌿 Everything went as planned and is looking pretty good so far. Nothing out of the ordinary, just smooth sailing through the final stage. Now it’s all about patience while it dries properly. Can’t wait to check out the final results in a couple of weeks! 🌱

All plants very healthy and growing well. I have included some pictures of HST and tucking. I keep it under the screen as much as possible . If I can not easily tuck it under I carefully use Kyle Kushman's technique for partially braking the inside cambium layer with out the damage to the outside. Carefully then twist slightly and the branch will lay down. By this ninth week, all the plants except the GTH x P reached the height of the wire, and at that time I started tucking the new growth back under and kept it there for the most part of the Veg stage. I also fertilized with for the second time with Soils Solution Top Veg

I had a really bad weather this week it rained 4 days straight and the wind was horrific it was like a small hurricane. 31/07 - Currently in week 2 of flower. Pistil hairs are slowly developing and colas are becoming more established. I also watered them today. 1L of water ph 6.5, I also mixed 1ml of bio grow, 2ml bio bloom, and 1ml top max 03/08 - Watered plants 500ml of just water ph at 6.5. Hope you have a great day! Peace

All the plants are building buds. Gave them a little beastie bloomz. I cut them off the maxigro today since the leaf tips are burning. Other than that everything is going smooth.

May, 8th Plant is still stretching, And Building some woonderful Flowers too A lot of WWork and Energy for the Plant I feed her in every Watering because shee is geting alittle Pale/ limy And I added some Calmag too, to help with Photosynthesis because she has still a big need In Nitrogen , added some flowering Nutrients, too

Plant seems to be growing well, she’s has some nice fans. I’ll be transplanting some time next week. Topped her this week too.

DAY 7: Hi all. A nice steady week for the girls finding their feet in the pots and without their domes. I have the pota a good soaking to start them off on the right foot and get those roots busy too. The Girl scout cookies are both doing really good with their 3rd nodes happily springing to life. I managed to start l.s.t as soon as the 5th node is workable on them. Plan is to hold the 5th nodes horizontal while the other nodes reach an even canopy height. Then I will let the 5th node continue vertical to join the party as an equal to the others. The Amnesia Haze are also very happy looking in their new homes and domeless. Not as developed as the Gsc but looking a nice shade of green. They are about 1.5 inches and on 3rd node growth too. So far so good. Let's see what another 7 days can add. Be well growmies.

Grow Report by Zuppler - Week 3 Veg Phase Ayy, what it do fam? Zuppler back on the check-in with that week 3 veg report, live from the capital. Yo, these girls ain’t playin’ no more – they really startin’ to stack up, lookin' thick in the canopy like they preppin' for somethin’ big. We still runnin’ that Advanced Nutrients like clockwork, straight through that RO water, keepin’ it pure as a Miami night breeze. The nodes are gettin’ tight, leaves spreadin’ out nice and wide, takin’ all that light. I hit ‘em with a little scrog, just a lil’ bend here and there, makin’ sure that light hit every corner of the canopy. You already know I’m tryin’ to maximize that potential. Stems got that thick structure, and no signs of nute burn or nothin’. We’re talkin’ flawless execution, fam. At this point, it’s just watchin’ ‘em fill out, keepin’ the environment dialed in and lettin’ ‘em do their thing. We’re settin’ the stage for a strong finish when we flip ‘em to flower. Pre98 Bubba , oh how I’ve missed you for so many years! These ones came out absolutely gorgeous! Loving the the purple phenos 😍 ! These ladies liked to stretch quite a bit so you’re gonna want to use some LST on em but I also recommend topping at least 6 times to get a better bang on your yield ! Expect nice tight purple buds with a tremendous amount of frost covering, some of the frostiest Bubba I’ve ever had! Over all I give it 10 stars an would definitely over an over run this strain!

Week 2 of Bloom

🌿Week 4: Defoliation & SCROG Setup Week 4 was all about structure and airflow. The canopy was getting bushy fast, with a ton of inner growth, so we went in for a solid defoliation session across the board. Lower fans, overlapping leaves, and shaded internodes were cleaned up to let light penetrate deeper into the canopy and reduce potential humidity traps. Right after that, we finally dropped the SCROG net, stretched out gently across the canopy to guide the branches horizontally and prep for flower stacking. Some of these phenos are already reaching for the sky, so the timing felt just right. Captured a full-time-lapse clip of the defoliation + netting process. It’s super satisfying watching the chaos turn into clean lines. Nature meets intention. Feed Bloom since 20/6 22/6 Defoliation 🌱 Plant Response: After defol, they bounced back fast. Tops are perky, leaves are praying, and stretch is continuing in a controlled way. The structure’s more open now — better airflow, better light distribution, better everything.

A lot happened this week. Started LST, Main-Lining and defoliation for a bigger yield in the end. When i start these 3 methods, is around the time i start to use nutriens. I like to to keep it as natural as posible.. Using the 3-1 from "PH perfect" (Micro, Bloom n' Grow). When using these 3 subs, its not necessary to use PH+ or PH-. I got some yellow tips, might be nutrien burn or light stress. Dno, its not a huge problem - gonna put the full spec to 50% for a few days.
