🍰 Lava Cake – Week 8 (4th Week Flower) | The Bulking Phase The fourth week of flower has arrived, and both Lava Cakes are showing their full potential. Their structure is strong, pistils are snow-white and thick, and bud sites are stacking beautifully. This is the week where the promise of flowers begins to turn into visible production, every day, you can almost see them swelling. ⸻ 🔬 What’s Happening in Week 4 Flower By now, stretch is nearly finished. The plants are redirecting their energy: • From vertical growth ➝ into flower bulk. • From nitrogen demand ➝ into phosphorus & potassium demand. • From building structure ➝ into packing density. This transition is crucial: the roots, the soil microbiology, and the nutrient profile all work together to feed flowers instead of stems and leaves. What we see this week: • Thick, healthy pistils at every site. • Calyx swelling beginning, the first signs of true bud stacking. • Leaves still dark and strong — proof of balanced nutrition. • No stress, no burn, no deficiencies. ⸻ 🥤 Feeding Strategy – Why Boosters Matter Now This week, we removed the Aptus All-in-One Liquid, despite it being in the photo. The reason: the soil’s super soil base + slow-release pellets still carry enough NPK to support the girls. Overfeeding at this stage could risk tip burn or nutrient lockout — and we want the roots to stay clean and active. Instead, the focus is on precision boosters: Recipe (per L water): • Aptus Regulator – 0.15 ml → strengthens cell walls, stress protection, and nutrient uptake efficiency. • Aptus CalMag Boost – 0.25 ml → keeps calcium steady (critical for bud structure) and magnesium strong (photosynthesis & chlorophyll). • Plagron Power Buds – 1 ml → directs plant energy into flower production. • Plagron Sugar Royal – 1 ml → provides organic nitrogen + enzymes to stimulate terpene development. • Plagron Green Sensation – 1 ml → PK booster + biostimulant, promoting dense, resin-rich flowers. High, but plants are adapting. • Humidity: 55–60%, VPD ~1.8–2.0 kPa — slightly high, but still manageable. • Watering Rhythm: Once substrate moisture falls near 19–20%, measured by TrolMaster WCS substrate sensor. This ensures roots get oxygen before each feed. Even under warm conditions, the plants are drinking heavily — proving they are metabolically active and thriving. ⸻ 🌸 What to Expect Next Week (Week 5 Flower) ✅ Expect: • Noticeable bulking → flowers will become rounder, denser, and begin to “stack.” • More pistils → a full carpet of white hairs covering colas. • Aroma development → the first hints of Lava Cake’s dessert-like terpene profile may start releasing. ❌ Not to Expect (yet): • Full frost coverage → heavy trichome production usually comes weeks 5–7. • Final density → buds will continue swelling for several weeks, so patience is key. ⸻ ✨ Closing Thoughts Week 4 flower is the foundation of yield. It’s when the plants finish their stretch, define their bud sites, and begin to convert light, water, and nutrients into the weight and density we harvest later. ordered 10 gallon pots for the 2 blue dream and pineapple express they are going into a different tent. Plan on replanting Friday. Autos all are doing fine, think I've been having issues with cal mag hopefully I can get it sorted out. All the plants are pretty big at this point except the gelato #33 its so small lol. Very crowed in a 4x4 and the plants need more room maybe moving the photos out will help the autos out and let them spread out more. Ordered some Recharge, excited to try out. I heard about it on dude grows lol great podcast 👏 Picked up some blue planet liquid seaweed and also their gold shield silica, also excited to try. Lastly got some Dynomyco to add in. Both blue dream and pineapple express are in their new home another 4x4 tent. Only running 1 halide at 400 watts and a small mars led. Will boost the light up significantly during flower with 1200 actual watts and change out to super lumen hps. Running a terrabloom carbon scrubber out of the second hid hood all powered by a 6 inch AC Infinity cloudline venting outdoors. Also using another 6 inch to bring in fresh air and have a portable ac to keep it nice and cool I think its important to mention after every grow I like to go in and clean out my tent. Vacuum up leaves/dirt, Wipe down all surfaces of the tent(I use paper towels and water in a spray bottle) and also clean off my lights. Wipe them down make sure the glass is cleaned(It makes a big difference). I grow strictly for my own personal consumption and I want the cleanest product.

Rainbow melon from fastbuds is for sure a winner.its a cross from fastbuds melon plant they use in a lot of there crosses and it’s crossed with a exotic genetics plant and they are known for really frosty plants. Fastbuds did a great job of capturing the exotic colors and tastes and smell and tricomb density from the exotic genetics plant and then it added with the large melon nugs to be a really great plant. I already got another pack of the rainbow melon seeds my goal is to breed a good pheno of it with my gas tax x Obama Runtz seeds that I have that grow som killer. I would hope crossing with this plant would bring some colors and larger nugs to the party. This plant is amazing I would suggest growing it. Super strong plant super sturdy large nugs with super strong smell and super stick

Day 21 - Past week or so was rough (drooping leaves), which recovered during the night period. I figured it was either light or heat. Turns out the lights were way to bright (brown tips, bleaching leaves, drooping leaves). Turned off the 300 watt LED. Turned the Two 75 watt LEDS TO 40% plant is now stretching out nicely. Will turn light up slowly once stretch looks good. Happy New Year! Day 22 - Stretch looks good turned lights up 5% and leaves stopped stretching so back to 40%. Day 23 - Everything is resolved. Lights were way to bright. Caused the plant to stay short and brown tips. Reduced lights by 60% and now it’s beginning to stretch a little during the day and a lot at night. Added nutes back in and reduced the water to 2 cups per day. Day 25 - added 5% on lights. Stretching nicely. Manage vertical growth with filling out using the lights. Day 26 - looking good increased water to 12oz per day. Day 27 - lights up 5% back down 5%. I leave it alone now. Couple gnats flying around. Not sure if it is a problem?

Chonga is doing nicely at 7", Cheecha still a little behind. The soil has been staying moist for awhile, even with light watering and I was worried about root rot. So, I let them go about a week without watering. After a light watering with the remaining 1 ml/2Qt nutrient/water solution (about 1 cup each plant), I took the plunge and decided to try Topping (or FIMing), which I did a few days after watering. I'm also concerned about soil PH. I've been testing it with the 3-in-1 tester, but it always reads about 7. I tried the thing out in pure vinegar, but it gave the same results. So, soil PH is anybody's guess. I eventually bought a digital PH tester for liquids. BIG CHANGE: On Day 27, I switched over to a new, 1200W LED grow light.

To tell the truth, I am very surprised myself, how amazing she is FastBuds Gorilla cookies, she copes well with a small space:) she drinks 1 liter every day :) everything looks better than expected:) good luck to everyone.

Mamba Negra was a very frosty, and smelly autoflower. Has been chopped, and hung to dry. Looks very promising to be some great smoke. We shall see. No contest winner, but got some good smoke out of it. PEV said they wanted to send me some more seeds to grow. We will see if they get back to me. After this beautiful plant, and Moby Dick auto is going monster size, check it out 🌱😁. This smoke absolutely stunned me first this was a clone sent to me from California to Virginia in the mail in the middle of winter didn't think it was gna make it but she prevailed and turned out to be so gassy and funky with a zing and it jus lays you down but puts you in a good mood too not a groggy couch lock but a good couch lock lol tastes like candy on the exhale nugs are super dense and the cure and dry came out perfect she was definitely a box

No big changes lately. 2 weeks after last post and seem getting thicker and I see few pistils got darker colour. Buds not very voluminous. Yet they still grow and need few further weeks.

So I harvested 1 Grlato Cake seed 🙃22 Gelato cake × Dosi-punch, & 18 Gelato cake × Lamb's Bread. Already germinating the gelato × dosi mix. Excited to start the next diary

На этой неделе поработал с ветками в неперспективных местах, удалив все лишнее, что могло бы вытягиваться, вместо генерации цветов. За неделю растение выросло на 10 сантиметров. Проверил натяжение, центральный ствол туго натянул шнур растяжки, пытаясь выпрямиться после освобождения всех веток от натяжения. Пока ещё рано отпускать растяжку ствола, сделаю это после остановки вертикального роста. Ещё одна неделя "вытягивания" впереди, но цветы уже довольно быстро набирают массу. После обрезки неперспективных веток внизу растения, у меня чесалась рука, которую я запускал в гущу листвы. Это словно крапива, жжет, вызывает раздражение и пока не вымоешь руку с мылом в теплой воде, жжение не уходит. Девочка достаточно липкая, чтоб стать в одну линию с уже выращенными девочками и посоревноваться с ними в эффекте и урожае. Запах изменился до неузнаваемости, теперь она не пахнет кошкой, скунсом.... то, как она пахнет, невозможно описать обычными словами...это похоже на запах разнотравья в одном букете. Кажется что тут смесь запахов: чебрец, мята, мать-и-мачеха, плакун-трава и чертополох. Запах сладкий, медовый, с небольшим пряным горьковатым шлейфом. Внешне цветы начали становиться похожими на молодые одуванчики, слегка подкрасив свои стигмы в желтый цвет. После обрезки слаборазвитых мест я попил чай, заварив на свежую в кипятке несколько молодых цветов и листьев. Замечательное пойло, очень полезное для внутренних органов, особенно для пищевода, желудка и двенадцатиперстной кишки. Поднял лампу на 10 сантиметров, сохраняя расстояние между лампой и верхушкой растения - 60 сантиметров. The flowering stage is progressing really well and I’m genuinely happy with how she’s coming along at week 7. The first brown pistils have already started showing on two of the branches, which confirms she’s deep into her flowering cycle now — right on schedule for Glue Gelato Auto. Next week I’m planning to significantly increase the flowering nutrients — particularly Big One and Top Candy, which should really push bud size and resin production from here on. Around the middle of the week I’ll also do a proper defoliation, clearing out the fan leaves that are blocking light from reaching the lower bud sites. The canopy has filled in nicely but it needs opening up to let those buds really fatten up. Water intake has increased quite a bit — I’ve stepped up from one liter to two, and even then the soil is nearly bone dry by early morning. That kind of uptake is a good sign — the roots are clearly healthy and the plant is working hard to fuel bud development. I’ll be watching closely to see if she needs even more as things progress. I’ve also been doing regular branch adjustments, gently repositioning the roped branches to keep the canopy level and make sure every top is getting its share of light. Nothing too aggressive at this point — just keeping things tidy. Week 7 feels like a critical stage now. Pushing the flowering nutrients harder from here should make a real difference in final bud size and density.
