hardy sativa, good taste profile with notes of peach and pink starburst, good yield, does in fact finish fast. likes training and grows robustly, yielding large buds that are quite dense given this strain’s sativa predominance. overdried a bit this time around, by overcorrecting for the summer humidity.

Start of Week 5 Over the last couple of days the smell went from a slight hint before entering the space to a pungent smell that just wofts from the plants. I've never grown a full screen before and never noticed how much these smell. It is possible it could be the Granddaddy Purple but my guess from the good bag smell on this strain, that it's the critical smell. I have two sections of plants growing from the same feeding resivour. For the first time ever I've decided to do a mid grow flush. I ran through 1-2gal of water on each 5 gal bucket. I use only perlite as medium so I figured that I wouldn't need much to flush. It all drained back to the main resivour and I disposed of it. I ran a 24hr cycle of straight PHed tallboy filtered tap water (160ppm) and then drained that again (340ppm). I refilled the resivour with fresh nutes and PHed again (1100ppm)

Thinking a week more growing, my microscope is too powerful i think pain to use saw a couple ambers but i think most are still cloudy if not see through. Should i lay off nutes this week or?

Hello Growmies, As we observe the growth in week 15, I'm filled with both anticipation and awe. She continues her impressive swell, and new white hairs have emerged, suggesting that the end of January might be too soon for harvest. The delicate balance of maturity is playing out before us, as the first few trichomes take on an amber coloration, signaling the onset of peak ripeness. There's a noticeable increase in her aromatic presence – she's getting louder, so to speak, filling the space with her potent scent. A beautiful fade is underway; the lower canopy leaves have turned a bright yellow and are gracefully falling away, a natural progression as she directs her energy to the buds. These, in turn, are taking on a striking purple hue, which is becoming more pronounced day by day. Each day brings a change, a new layer of complexity to her form. The way she's maturing, the hues she's revealing, and the scents she's exuding all contribute to the feeling that she's one of the most remarkable plants I've grown. Her feeding remains consistent at 4 liters of nutrient solution every four days, sustaining her through this critical phase. The light spectrums continue at full capacity, and she seems to savor every photon that falls upon her. With new growth still apparent, I'm considering adjusting the harvest timeline. Patience is key, as is careful observation of her trichomes and overall health. We're entering what may be the final stretch, but only time will tell. The yellowing of her leaves, the purpling of her buds, and the sweet, loud fragrance she's giving off are all signs of a successful grow coming to fruition. 🌿 Lava Cake – Week 5 (First Week Flower) | Pre-Bloom & Heat Talk 🌿 The Lava Cakes have officially stepped into their flowering tent… though, to be fair, they’re still enjoying a little extra veg time before showing pistils. Both phenos are healthy, lush, and stretching beautifully, clearly ready for the show ahead. ⸻ 📸 Photo Studio Glam We took them out for another studio shoot, bright lights, clean background, and every angle showing off their deep greens and perfect branching. Soon, their beauty will be dressed in flowers, but for now, the leaf structure alone is worthy of the spotlight. ⸻ 🌡️ Current Conditions • Room Temp: 31°C • Humidity: 50.3% • VPD: 2.23 kPa • PPFD: 766 µmol/m²/s • Soil EC: ~2.0 • Soil Temp: 25.6°C Yes, the temperature is running hot — AC unit is on the way to lock it back into our ideal zone. ⸻ 💬 Heat in the Grow Room – Risks & Benefits Potential Risks: • Faster substrate drying = more frequent irrigation needed • Higher transpiration rates can stress plants if roots can’t keep up • Slightly increased risk of light stress at high PPFD without proper cooling • Possible reduced terpene retention if sustained into late flower Possible Benefits (short term in veg/pre-flower): • Accelerated metabolism — plants grow and stretch faster • Increased water/nutrient uptake (if well-fed and watered on time) • Can improve CO₂ usage efficiency if levels are high enough Bottom line: As long as they’re hydrated, fed, and ventilated, short bursts of high temp are manageable. But for flowering, we want to keep daytime temps closer to 24–28°C for optimal quality. ⸻ 💧 Watering Strategy We water when the soil dries to about 25% moisture remaining, this encourages: • Stronger root growth searching for water • Better oxygenation of the root zone • Less risk of root rot in warm temps Right now: They’re drinking daily due to the heat, so we’re feeding daily as well. ⸻ Current Feeding (per L of water) • Aptus Regulator – 0.15 ml • Aptus CalMag Boost – 0.25 ml • Aptus All-in-One Liquid – 1 ml • Aptus Top Booster – 0.25 ml With the increased drinking rate, nutrient uptake has increased — meaning no signs of deficiency, just steady lush green. ⸻ 🚀 Looking Ahead • AC installation will stabilize temps, allowing tighter VPD control • First signs of pistils should appear within the next 7–10 days • We’ll begin adjusting feed ratios for early bloom once flowers set • Light intensity will climb further as stretch continues ⸻ 💚 Closing Note: This week is all about momentum, heat or no heat, the Lava Cakes are pushing upward, prepping themselves for a heavy flower load. I have forced flower a few days ago so not to overbush her when she stretches in this period in going to stick her down in this first week of flower to keep her lower to the soil and opening her up it also hardens out the branches to support the buds better Day 33 pinned her down just 2 nodes further down the line so the stay horizontal

05/06/2021 - Day 14 - First day of the 3rd week. MEMO: I'm using the following "names" for differentiating the two both in comments and pics: 🅰️ - "A" for the one transplanted in the garden soil and that will NOT receive any nutrient; 🅱️ - "B" for the one that will grow in the pot and that will receive nutrients. 👉 "A"is struggling a little after the transplant. Probably suffered a little or maybe she is focusing on the roots, idk. She is little if compared to "B" but she looks healthy so lets' go. 👉 "B" is GIANT! compared to "A". Can't say if the reason is the pot, the fertilizer, the luck or just the difference in transplant time, anyway she is flying 😂 Stem a little bended and unstable because he overgrew and had to cover it last week but not a big problem. Summer has come, sun is warm, all perfect. This week I'll probably proceed feeding "B" with "Easy Grow Booster Tablet" by RQS. I just got myself a Digital Microscope for under $20.00 on Walmart.com, I got me a cheap one to start with so I can learn how to use it properly. But for under $20.00 this one brings 8 led lights, a adjustable mount, comes with 3 different connection choices build in, magnifies from 50-1000x, can take pictures and also videos and my favorite part, it connects right to my mobile device, you download and install a Google app and your ready to go, ill work with it and add pictures next week...
