🌱 Sour Diesel — Week 8 (Flower Week 3) — Strategic Reset Week ⸻ 🔁 Quick Recap — Where We Are • Genetics: Sour Diesel • Timeline: Week 8 from seed • Flowering: Week 3 • Height: ~60–70 cm (compact structure) • Room Temp: 28°C • RH: 65% • Feed EC: 2.9 • pH: 6.5 (kept above 6.0 intentionally) • Lighting: LED • Action this week: Strategic defoliation This plant is not tall — she’s compact, dense, and structurally tight. Which means airflow and internal light penetration become critical early. And that’s exactly why this week mattered. ⸻ 🍃 The Defoliation — Not Aesthetic. Architectural. This was not cosmetic trimming. It was: • Removing large fan leaves blocking interior bud sites • Cleaning inner congestion • Opening airflow channels • Resetting light distribution across the canopy • Helping the entire room environment (not just this plant) The room needed air — this plant was advanced enough to handle stress. That’s key. Week 3 of flower is the transition window: • Stretch is slowing • Bud sites are set • Energy shifts toward stacking At this stage, a strategic defoliation: • Improves transpiration efficiency • Reduces microclimate humidity pockets • Prevents internal leaf-to-leaf condensation • Encourages bud site activation below the top canopy This was structural architecture. Not haircut vanity. ⸻ 🌡️ 28°C in Flower — “Too Hot?” Let’s Go Deep. People panic when they hear 28°C in flower. But here’s where most growers confuse: 🔥 HPS vs LED Heat Behavior Under HPS: • Radiant heat warms leaf surfaces directly • Leaf temperature often equals or exceeds room temp • 28°C air under HPS can mean 30–32°C leaf temp • That pushes VPD dangerously high Under LED: • Less infrared radiation • Leaf surface temp is typically 1–3°C LOWER than room temp • So at 28°C room temp, leaf temp might be 25–26°C And VPD calculations depend on leaf temperature, not air temperature. ⸻ 🌿 What Is Leaf VPD? VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) measures the difference between: • Moisture inside the leaf • Moisture in the surrounding air But if you calculate VPD using only room temp, you’re missing the real transpiration dynamics. With: • 28°C air • ~25–26°C leaf surface (LED) • 65% RH Leaf VPD sits in a very workable mid-flower zone. Not extreme. Not stress-inducing. Not shutdown territory. We’re driving metabolism, not cooking terpenes. ⸻ 💧 Why 65% RH Isn’t Dangerous Here Context matters: • Good airflow • Opened canopy • Compact but cleaned structure • Early-mid flower (Week 3, not Week 7) At this stage: • Pistils are forming • Bud density is still moderate • Transpiration is active High humidity becomes dangerous when: • Bud mass is dense • Internal airflow is poor • Late flower resin traps moisture We’re not there yet. And we just improved airflow with defoliation. ⸻ ⚡ EC 2.9 — Aggressive but Intentional That EC is strong. Let’s go Day 36 !!! This week went real great, girls built up a lot of structure, and stayed super healthy ! Today they got fed just water phd at 6.5 ! They been really loving that balance! I also removed a lot of under trim since we are going into preflower , so had to shave up those legs lol ! It’s really great for them , the love that airflow , but don’t take off too much or you could shock your plants so be careful ! Can’t wait to see what these girls do this week ! The flowers really started to show this week. Still looking healthy. I ran out of the biobizz grow feed this week so hopefully don't need any more of that.

one of my FullGas is late from the beginning and even for flowering. I preferred to remove my net this week, to more easily access my plants and water them. I hope the branches will hold I cut a lot of leaf this week. I hear different opinions that say it's beneficial others not... At least it will have the advantage of lowering the humidity. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Water: tap water at 300 PPM, I add 0.7G of Hybrid powder and 0.3g of booster PK+ per liter to reach 950PPM and I adjust the PH to 5.8. I watered daily until water drained from the pot (to release nutrients from previous waterings) and I take a 3-4 day watering break to let it dry out before resuming a daily watering schedule. -Daytime temperature: 22-26°C -Night temperature: 20-24°C -Humidity: 50-75% ( Too high but it's hard to lower it... Blue Zushi - Dutch Passion Day 80 - Watered with 3 litres of RO tap water, with defined nutrients, pH'd to 6.3. She has stopped stretching and is now focusing on developing her flower, and her smell is starting to shine; very candy minty. She has a big beautiful structure with great internodal spacing! I have high hopes for her yield🤞🏻 Notes: - She has been moved into the 3x3 on a 12 hour light schedule, to give her more space. - I have added under canopy lights to help increase the PPFD at the lower bud sites. - no training or defoliation performed this week, I'm just letting her grow🙏🏻 - I have the exhaust fan attached directly above her main stem, which about 15cm from the top of the tent, to force more airflow around her. - the light is as it's highest setting, but thankfully she is no longer stretching; I may have vegged her for too long

the weather in germany is unfortunately getting very wet and cold early. The Papaya Cookies had to contend with Budrod in the headbud. This was probably also due to the enormous density of the headbud... So we harvested them after a total of 60 days to prevent worse. So far it has been one of our favourites in outdoor growing, visually delicious with its pink pistils. The plant also has an incredibly tropical, delicious smell of mango and papaya - we are already looking forward to the smoke test

My Rainbow Saltz plant is really taking off! I had to remove a lagging branch, but ever since then, it's just exploded with new growth. It's got these beautiful, vibrant leaves and the buds are starting to get nice and frosty. I'm getting a sweet, fruity aroma with a hint of spice – it's gonna be a good one!" This past week has been a whirlwind of work, leaving little time for anything else. My phone's camera roll is sadly neglected, with only a few snapshots to show for it. But finally, I'm finding a moment to catch up on my grow diaries. It's been exciting to see the progress, even if it's just through photos. I'm looking forward to documenting the next stage!

Day 70 - She grew 5cm / 2" this week! The amount of trichomes she has on her is frankly ridiculous 😍 totally white over. The smell upon touching them is intense Grapefruit 😍 PhenoFinders have done a great job breeding this. I'd like to try more of their range.

Last 10 days I worked with LST to get the plants more homogenized.
