This was a week. The drama at the beginning was one of the fans falling down onto my gorilla cookies. It snapped a branch off really bad but the girl hung onto it by threads. I duct taped her up and somehow took. 😎😢 I defoliated and did a little lst on a couple of the girls. Nothing major. Also increased the light to 80% now. I think I'll stay there until late flower when I switch to 12/12. I also added blocks to a couple of the girls to make the canopy level. That put the light at 15" as recommended by Medic Grow. Strawberry Banana is growing ok. I added one row of blocks to raise her up. Lst tied one branch off to the side. I'm hoping she starts to pick up in the week. I see potential but we'll see. These are the timelapses, I made in the beginning.

Wow what a week this has been, the plants have all undergone fair dramatic changes. A real flurry of leaf yellowing, pistil darkening/curling, and bug swelling. The smell is really coming along now, I think we're really quite close to harvest. On the assumption that pre-flowering was two weeks, this strain should be ready at the end of week seven flowering, so in the case of this diary the end of week nine (i.e. one week to go!). Pistils are about 70-80% amber, and the lower pistils on buds have started curling inward. Trichomes look to me to be something like 10% clear 80% Milky 10% White. I have smoke tested a small bud off the lower part of plant 3 today after quick-drying overnight in the airing cupboard, taking into consideration the obvious chlorophyll from the fast dry, the high was much closer to what I am expecting than the last smoke test. It came on at the normal pace, was quite effective, and lasted a good while. I am really hoping I can navigate my way through the next process, as I feel quite close now to having some home grown bud for the first time. The plants are being well watered this evening with just water, and this will be the last time that I water them until harvest. I will continue to monitor these daily, I intend to harvest at the first sign of any amber trichome. Advice and comments welcomed. P.S. Exciting news! ***I’m not sure why but it’s only letting me put 100 growing plants, but I actually harvested 180 plants in three separate rooms of about 300 sqfeet almost each, running in at 350 g per plant *** Given her being my first grow, I don’t really have anything to compare to but me and my plants have gone through a lot this year. Definitely going to need filters with this one, for the strong scent. 10 out of 10 would recommend this strain. I tried some fish fertilizer through some of the early growth and everytime I did, I would notice the plants beginning to burn so I completely stopped it, I learned organic is the best way to go if I’ll ever be using fertilizer again. This is the only way I would’ve learned it through experience! I didn’t think I can make it all the way through with my harvest, but ever since I got on Growdiaries everybody has helped me tremendously with every question I had, without the site my whole to harvest would’ve went to shit along time ago. Haha I really can’t thank my Growmies here enough for all their support. Every time I thought about giving up I would have uplifting comments assuring me my plants we’re doing fine. A message to all nee growers. Don’t be afraid of failure. Ask questions. I don’t know when my next grow will be but when, or if I decide to grow again, I’ll definitely document it on the best possible weed growing platform. Cheers friends!

In 2 Tagen werde ich ernten! 😎 Insgesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden mit die grow, es war mein erster Versuch eine Automatic toppen, scroggen und zu biegen. Die Northern Lights ist eine robuste Pflanze die bei optimalen Bedingungen sich gut von solchen Eingriffen erholt. Sie ist den letzten Tagen sehr gelb geworden, braucht nur noch alle 3 Tage Wasser. Der Geruch ist mild süß aromatisch.

We are officially in full bloom. The have been enjoying 6-7 hours of sun light per day for about 4 days now, then brought back in under the cobs. The girls are all exploding with growth and stacking what I expect to be huge buds.

This girls coming along so nicely and the smell is impeccable 👌 sweet and a little gassy, can't wait 😊 happy growing and stay green ✌️ 💚 👌

Had a panic attack this week!!! Found some little fast moving crawlers on my mulch. Most were on the leaves I had trimmed off during defoliation. I come to find out they are a type of mite that eat the decaying foliage and were likely already within the soil itself. Luckily no problem at all. Lots of new growth and they all seemed to respond well to the little LST and HST I’ve used (topping and fimming). Almost daily I come in and press the tops out or down to help spread the canopy before trellising. The purple queen is truly the most impressive lady in the garden at this point. The Citradelic Sunset is a close second. Both plants are expressing 11 finger fan leaves and have very thick branches. I’ve had to raise my lights to 60” and everything has responded very well. They received about 4 cups each of compost tea this week. I backed off my watering schedule to help with the soil saturation.

How is it growing, my fun(k) loving friends? ***INFO*** For more on my setup, why it was monster cropped, and how I made the canopy, see Germination page and subsequent weeks. They had 48 hrs of darkness, and the time has come to say goodbye to my friends. I thanked them again, spend some time with them, and under the sound of Amazonian shaman's harvest and healing songs (will post link), asked for their gifts, and apologized for taking their lives. I do this while in contact with the plants, touching, smelling them, observing every detail, no thoughts, just in the present moment. I feel emotional as I do this and remember how they were a companion, a source of distraction in a time of worry, sadness, and loss. How they already comforted me and kept me company in a time of painful insights about honesty, commitment, and staying true to myself. I thank them again for their wisdom and gifts, viva Santa Maria, viva Planta Maestra, may the mother of all beings give us healing and protection. And I proceed with the harvest as I visualize my intentions with every cut. Branch by bud laden branch is tenderly untangled from the scrog net, taken with a clean-cut and immediately hung upside down in the grow tent, which will now double as a curing and drying room. A couple more weeks and we will have the final cured and dried weight. More photos and movies will follow, this is where we are so far!! Big hug, lots of love and take care! ***UPDATE*** The final weigh-in is ready. I hadn't seen them in a week, because of my vacation. The humidifier I set up, had failed. So the grow had dried in 7 days, what I wanted to be 14 at least. Thankfully, its Sativa ancestry shines through, the smoke isn't harsh, the buds a sticky and smelly, no hay smell at all. We ended up at 246 grams, excluding a shitload of larf and popcorn bud, totaling at 310 grams all in, a first at a gram per watt for me, but for the Zambeza seed competition, I stated we would only weigh the quality bud. Overall I'm very happy!! I smoke for medical reasons and it's used for ritual and healing purposes, never to be sold, as it loses its magical properties. Should I have to buy Gelato of this quality at the dispensary that I frequent, it would cost me at least € 15,-- per gram. 246 x 15 = 3690 euros. also, 49 car rides of 25 miles there and back, 250 euros in gas saved. Into week 4 now and I'm starting to pour the coal to these girls. I did a nutrient change and increased the solution PPM to 950. At the same time I replaced the air pump for a more powerful one as the other one I had was fairly weak. Still seem healthy and they are getting very bushy. I did a little LST mid last week and they seem to be responding well to that. This is my first grow and I'm not sure if I should defoliate a little so I can expose more tops to light or if I should just let them do their thing. I will see how they go this week.

Weekly Janitorial duties…… Survived 2 day vacation Day 48, noticeable swelling and trich production over the last few days. Slowly raising light to decrease intensity. Thinking about cutting the lights back to 11/13. Added a few bamboo stakes to support and open them up a little. Starting to get a little fade on one PBB

Elle a été très longue. Le goût était vraiment différent des autres variétés que j'ai fais pousser. Très puissant, persistant en bouche mais très agréable. Elle a poussé en extérieur et elle a fini en intérieur mais à la lumière naturelle et elle était pas aussi puissante que celle des coffee-shops. Elle était quand-même plaisante à cultiver et elle n'a demandé que très peu de soins.
