Well, week 11 has started today 8/15. So blessed to have gotten this far! I'll be flipping the lights tomorrow to begin to start flowering. I have both my tents linked up so I don't have to run two separate exhausts! Now that the stress part is over time to sit, enjoy some puffs and continue focusing my energy! The time is finally here to post the harvest. I waited till it was all done and dry before updating the dairy so will add in the dry weights next on the 2nd half of the harvest entry. Had some ups and downs with this plant. mainly the extreme yellowing that was happening. I should have treated this faster with a flush but was super reluctant and I feel this has suffered in the end. The top best looking buds could have been larger and the lower ones could have been thicker. There is some smells with this plant but they are not pronounced. Just smells like mild basic weed, this would be one reason not to grow it, however, the crystals on this plant have been the most I've ever grown before. When trimming them every time the scissors snipped or the brush stroked I saw some falling down onto the tray. This plant would be great for making hash. had a good little ball of finger hash at the end of it and will be giving that to my friends to smoke or make a strong edible with. I don't plan on growing this strain out again, the lack of smells and the fact I'm only trying to grow cbd dominate plants is the main reason. If my friends really like this I have some clones so can always give them some. Speaking of clones they are doing well outside, greened up a lot and showing signs of revegging. Took some photos of the weed hang drying on day 1 in the tent and a week later to show how much they shrink. most of the lower growth is quite larfy but will make good edibles or hash, that will be a fun project to do and may include that in my projects diary. I converted the cents into dollar amounts beforehand to avoid dividing by 100. 8.2c/h = 0.082$/h 438h * 0.17c/kwh = $74.46kw * 0.15kw = $11.17 on peak 522h * 0.113c/kwh = $58.99kw *0.15kw = $8.85 mid peak 1,272h * 0.082c/kwh = $104.30kw *0.15kw = $15.65 off peak The "h" hours and "kw" kilowatts cancel out and we are left with a value of $ dollars per peak period, add all the peak periods up and you get your total cost of running the lights in dollars. $11.17 + $8.85 + $15.65 = $35.67 for the grow light only. My light grew for 20 weeks and 4 days, or 144 days. almost 21 weeks total. $35.67 / 144d = 0.2477$/d average of about 25c a day in electricity 337.2kw for the entire grow. Using the regular calculation of grams harvested divided by watts used is not accurate to me, it does not account for all the time the lamps are on, the length of grow to the over all cost. The calculation that makes sense to me is this, harvested dry weight of usable cannabis buds/trim/keif/whatever in grams divided by total kw used. Could also combine it with grams per total single use costs “anything you used only for this grow and wont reuse in the next, or fractions of multi use items like fertilizers if they ½ full” and see how much you’re investing per gram. "kw" ÷ "g" = kw/g "$" ÷ "g" = $/g I have harvested 5.34oz or 151.6g on 337.2kw. 337.2kw ÷151.6g = 2.22 kw/g of usable cannabis. This is not an ideal ratio for me and looks like a lot of energy waste happened from the extended veg period. $35.67 ÷ 151.6g = 0.24c/g It cost 24c/g when comparing total electricity cost to gross yield, almost identical to the comparison of total electrical cost to the number of days in the grow 25c/day. Hi, thank your for visiting my diary, more info on my setup, soil and situation in: Germination... So been doin the whole Sherlock thing with the magnifier and nope.... no trichomes amber yet.... My magnifier is just not strong enough and apparently my eyesight is bollocks or my arms are too short... On the images ( I also have onset parkinsons as it seems, thus I used a tripod and low and behold: a stillshot) the trichomes are visible. Now I have the problem that I have to go for a week in a week. Im not leaving all on (mainly no control over smell and some distrust in my own handywork compiling these lights) when Im gone. So these ladies have to hurry up now. The other problem is the cure... I have no way to monitor temps and RH when Im away so Im gonna have to find a sitter for my babies or just cut them preprime or they magically make amber overnight.... I hoped, since they were racing to the finish, that I would be in time.... So maybe we pack an extra tent for our vacation... My growtent... I have been flushing for two weeks, still the leaves and plants are vigorous and lively. Some yellowing pointy bits but too minimal.... Temsp outdoor have been higher but stable, temps in the tent never over 26.8 degrees. Humidity has been dropping last days which I hoped for. Anyone any experience with building a climate chamber for curing? Or any on the market that will do? Please check my Zambeza 3 seed give away by guessing my final result! As an update: I took some tiny larf of a couple of days ago and totally forgot about it. Today out of weed, I found the dried remains in the jar I put it in and left it. No temp, no cue, no rh anything. So I get it out of the jar to find it smelling like weed, not even hay or grass but pungeant stinky weed. I start to crumble and find it is sticky, solid, and crumbles to nice bits that crumble even further. I light up and an amazing sweet and citrussy smell comes free, it is superstrong, although still more high obviously, and supertasty, without any cure. This promises even more for the rest of the bunch. This was some underside sad yellowish larf,not any density to it but smoked ten times better than my local, round the corner dispensary weed that I smoked later that day. Even Sunshine (my partner) was amazed with difference in smell. Update 24th july: I finally saw ambers yesterday and the fact me running out of time, made me decide to start the 48 hours of darkness. Tomorrow she/they will be cut down for drying and curing. I have a humidifier and can manage temps to be a bit colder to prolong first dry as long as possible. Coming friday I have to decide what to do: keep them hanging for a full week, whilst Im gone. Or start the jarcure if drying (since its very hot and dry here lately, this might be the case) is faster. I would have loved to give these ladies another week maybe two... They were still so healthy. But I cant control anything when Im not here and this could potentially destroy my harvest or get very smelly, this leaves me no choice for now... The trichs are now at +/- 15% to 20% rest is all milky with just some single clears on less developped lower buds... I allread know she is nice tasting and potent enough. As soon as we are at the final weight I will post the harvest and we choose the winner! Another update: closer inspection revealed that the plants a/ had still lot of underside larf and b/ lots of clear trichomes. As we are near the finish I rather give them another week of light. So Ive bent all the big buds downwards to protect them from the light. I might not be able to correct the cure, but its a shame not give them another week if I can. Some will be horrified with the damage but my reasoning is simple, the big buds are done or almost, the larf still can develop into bigger buds so a late harvest supercrop and lowered the lights to 35 cm for the final push. In the harvest video we will show you the way we made the comfrey tea and where I keep it, our permagarden, introduce myself and maybe even Sunshine, the light of my life, introduces herself. Week 1 Day 3- 8/14/2023 Everything is right on track, they are looking beautiful and in the praying postition all leaves happily lifting towards the light. Week 1 Day 4- 8/15/2023 Looking beautiful today and looked like she could use her first haircut.. gave her a TOP off. Roots are laying in the water everything is looking right on track.. Week 1 Day 5- 8/16/2023 walked in and the humidity was under 60.... ohh noooooo.. So I added 2 humidifiers to the tent and attached them to my InkBird controller which is set to 62. She had roots nicely in the water.. this grow is on!!! Week 1 Day 6- 8/17/2023 Humidity was a little low this morning, so I refilled the humidifiers. Other than that, the temp looks great, the PH looks great, the PPM looks good the plant is in the praying position and all damage from the little drowning seems to have been fixed. Happy Happy. Week 1 Day 7- 8/18/2023 Yay.. week 1 in the books, roots in the water growth has started first hair cut given and both side nodes are growing. Everything is looking good and on track.. A lot better than week one of the last grow when I had them drowning week 1. Really excited on how this grow is going to come out.

Another Day another Dollar, a week later and I am starting to like being attentive when it comes to my babies, reminds me of the lock down days… dark times, but cultivation kept the days ticking and the mind clear. This Lady over has truly made a leap from her miniature pot to a whole 20lt highly rich compost mix, posted a video showing my mixing skills… it is getting warmer as the days progress, I am nervously awaiting the first Thunder storms, my makeshift greenhouse will be put to the sword, would be a sad day if that sword prove mighty, this structure has saved my babies through cold fronts, negative temperatures, speaking of weather the picture of the thermometer and my catalogued weather don’t correspond due to, The thermometer is showing my greenhouse’s room temperature, and I am cataloguing atmospheric temperature and humidity, I will get better in logging other such as water ph, for now all I know is I use rain water, and when I water I use 250ml of water per 24hrs, each plant to keep soil moist, I will increase the volume as soon as the morning temperature are at double digits. I cannot be disappointed with how this grow is proceeding. When Summer Shines it burns.
