It's amazing how quickly the weather can change. Just a few weeks ago we were bundled up in our warmest coats, and now it's finally starting to feel like springtime. With temps in the 40s and 50s, it's the perfect time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. My pound cake plant is finally getting somewhere. It's totally weird, because the stems turned this super cool purple color. Soon it's going to be covered in pound cake buds that'll be ready to eat. I'm thinking fancy frosting might be the way to go, but I'm also considering something fruity on top.

Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos Week 16 Harvest 17 th April 2020 This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution. I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity. This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary. I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds. And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name. Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own. She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing. She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a pleasant mix of the two. It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc. The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos That I provided the links for and put up a little video clip preview of each Artists song. Keeping my lady happy is a full-time job full of surprises, sometimes heavily exhausting long hours. I'm giving all my love to them. Week 0 : Sixshooter Hawkbo says Six Shooter is one of the top Fast Buds Strains, so i'm like "yeah man might as well run me some of these, i do like my weed top of the shelf!" so here it is with the six shooter , bought these direct during one of Fast bud's promotions, 3+2 x2 for the price of one, so yeah that' s a good deal ! germinating 5 let's see how many i end up keeping, depends on the rest of the seeds too ! overnight in a glass of water with a few drops of my kelp extract , protect it from the light , the next day looks like some already cracked, putting it in the RQS propagator, dont use your fingers to manipulated activated seeds , cover with some dirt, cover the propagator with a blanket to protect it from light and keep the temperature up. Let's see ! within a day three had cracked the surface, one was all squiggly from being put upside down but within a day it has straightened out, the two last ones took 3 more days to crack the surface, i'm saving them and keeping them closeby in case i need to replace any of the planted seeds. Six shooter have been great genetrics so far, i transplanted three of them on day 4. see you next week for more updates !
