Often, marijuana growers who have their plants in indoor grow tents or rooms with artificial lighting, take into account parameters such as temperature and relative humidity to maximize plants growth and bloom, thus obtaining abundant harvest with top quality flowers. As we will see later, these factors affect different processes of the plant, such as transpiration or nutrient uptake. However, we usually forget about another important factor that is related to the aforementioned ones: vapor pressure deficit or VPD. Broadly speaking, VPD is the difference between the amount of water vapor that the atmosphere is able to retain (which depends on temperature) and the amount of water vapor contained in it (relative humidity). It is usually measured in kilopascals (kPa). Providing our plants with a correct relationship between temperature and relative moisture will keep us on the right VPD parameters, increasing the plant’s activity and thus improving its growth and showing its full potential during the flowering phase. The ideal would be to adjust both parameters (temperature and humidity) to get the best possible VPD value, so that the development of plants will be amazing.In the chart above you can see the right temperature and moisture values to maximize the development of cannabis plants. The green zone shows you optimal values of VPD, in which it would be ideal to maintain the environment. The orange zone shows correct values, in which plants should not have problems to develop normally. However, red areas show values in which your plants will be very far from hit their full potential, since the relation between temperature and moisture is not optimal. With relatively high values of VPD (between 5 and 12) plants tend to open their stomata and release a considerable amount of water vapor into the environment (increasing their transpiration). This increase in transpiration results in an increase in the plant’s photosynthetic activity, which will need more nutrients and will improve its overall growth, both during growth and bloom. The best range is between 7.5 and 10.5, which we have marked in green. However, we must be careful that VPD is not too high (dark red zone) since the plant would close its stomata to avoid releasing too much water vapor to the environment, which would result in fast dehydration due to excessive transpiration. On the other hand, if VPD is too low (light red zone), the plant will also close its stomata for not releasing more water into the atmosphere, which in this case would be already saturated (it would have reached the maximum water retention capacity in a specific temperature). In this way, reducing transpiration will also reduce photosynthesis, which has a direct impact on the plant’s development and yield. That way, VPD is essential when it comes to offer the best conditions for the development of plants, also to understand its water requirements according to the nutrients used and thus adjust them correctly to meet the grower’s expectations. Hello. This is the end of week 7 and the beginning of week 8 of flowering for Gorilla Gelato - GG - This is the end of week 2 and the beginning of week 3 of flowering for Sister GG. Huge buds on the Gorilla Gelato that will get bigger with this last week of nutrient. After touching a bud my fingers smell of musky kushy desert and some citrus in there too. I've got some white powdery mildew on some of the other plants in here, but not on this one so far. So I might harvest after only one week of flush... I'll see how it goes. The Sister GG is just starting to show flowers. I tightened up her strings that are holding down her super cropping, getting read for some stretching. OK Be Great. Chuck.

Unfortunately Grow Diaries seems to have bugged during the last Cosmic Noodles update. The harvest report itself was saved and the text is still there, but most of the photos disappeared and I’m currently unable to properly edit or restore that update. Daily watering's continue with 1g of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.7 @74℉ and also I'm turning her pot 1/4 turn daily as well. 9/8- Well, her trichomes are right about where I like them to be and she's ready for 48hrs. in the dark before I chop and hang her to dry for 10-12 days. I'm watering her with 1g of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.7 @74℉ and will continue to water her while she's in the dark (cannabis continues to carry on with it's growth processes even while in the dark) so that her medium doesn't completely dry out. Keeping her watered will also help to extend her drying time to that ideal 10-12 day target. This should be some epic smoke as her buds are absolutely crystalized with trichomes and her smell is AMAZING! 😛💚 9/10- Well she's been in the dark for 24hrs. now with 24 more to go. I'm keeping temperatures in the low to mid 60's℉ and the RH @ 45%. Tomorrow is 'Chop Day'! I'll be taking some pic's of her when she comes out of the dark and during harvest...Stay tuned, this is some 🔥! I am continuing to water while she's in the dark with 0.5g of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8 @67℉ to keep her hydrated. 9/12- Well she's out of the dark where she spent roughly 60 hours. I kept the temp's @ 64℉ and the RH at 45%. After I brought her out I shot a few pictures of her, then plucked off all of the shade leaves. I then cut her off at her base and hung her whole. I'll keep the RH in the room @ 50% for the first 24hrs., then raise it to 55-60% for the remainder of the drying. I have the temperatures in the Dry Room at a constant 65℉ to help preserve the terpenes. Hopefully she'll take 10-12 days to dry to the point that she's ready to be trimmed and jarred! These gals are still recovering from getting chopped and pulled down. Almost sounds like bdsm. But the lower branches are starting to come in. They are beginning to get real green and possibly show lockout. Not a fan of the tiny ass pots and coco loco soil. Day 26: I snapped a branched/topped stem on one of them. :/ had to trim the wilting leaves off that side and hope it heals back

July 27: still growing fast. The new growth is a bit yellow and I haven’t decided what that’s due to. Lack of sulphate or excess Phosphorus are the two options I think. Anyway, she’s doing fine and is startling to preflower. 👍 Started using a 730 nm far red light for a few seconds at dusk. This is called phyto-forcing apparently because it promotes flowering. I really love science when it figures out random shit like how photosynthesis and light wavelength (or colour) interact. Outdoor plants naturally see a flash of far red light just before darkness and this light kind of ‘puts it to sleep’ or into dark mode two hours faster. So, two extra hours darkness or a 26 hour day. Sounds bogus but is totally legit. July 28: foliar spray of Extreme Blend and potassium silicate. July 30: plant is looking great. The yellow on the new growth has faded and is now a better looking shade of green. I think it might have been excess P because the other plants kind of had it too and the timing was a couple days after adding barley and Power Bloom. This is right at the start of flowering when plants need lot of P, and the yellow is fading, so I’ll just let it go without doing anything about it. She’ll get over it.

11/13/24 Fed today with 15 ml bloom and 15 ml bloom booster as top 11/17/24 the buds seem healthy. just watering as needed. the environment is easy to deal with again since the weather has changed to cold, so now i can run my heater and that drops the humidity to a manageable level without having the dehumidifiers running.

We are now on week 4 of flower about another 3 to go but they are getting there now and loving the purple on the lsd-25 will be doin another on my next run with fastberry

Cut down 9/6 will hang for week or two will give me detail up dates late 9/16 branches snapping so I cut down and trimmed Not to happy with the amount but I am really happy with the quality thing is sticky frosty wish I could take better pics

11/22 Day 15 and a new week begins! Upped the nuets to 7ml/gal each of cocotek AB at 6.0-ish giving TDS of 510 after adjustment for water. Forgot how tight these plants can be, raised lights 2" to increase inter-node a bit Up feed to 700ppm adding 1ml ctab 11/25 Transplant into five gal pots Feed 800ppm 10ml CT A&B 10 ml Kangaroots 5.9PH 11/26 First bend on Annie - Belle will do tomorrow. They seem to be taking less than two cups feed in those pots to produce enough runoff. No sign of any deficiencies as yet, liking the CocoTek so far. 11/27 Both trained life seems good :) 11/28 End of week and they look healthy Continuing training and leaving nuets as is until I get a water filter to drop the TDS on the tap water. Needs to drop about 100ppm before I can add more
