A plant with both standard cellular respiration (occurring throughout the plant, including leaves and stems) and adequate root respiration will have a significantly higher ATP throughput than one restricted to only general cellular respiration in a limited way. Cellular respiration is the fundamental metabolic process that occurs in all living plant cells (roots, stems, leaves, flowers, seeds) to convert glucose into usable energy (ATP). It requires oxygen and produces carbon dioxide and water as byproducts. Root respiration is not a separate type of respiration, but rather a specific instance of cellular respiration occurring in the roots. Roots absorb oxygen from the air spaces in the soil to fuel their energy needs. Roots require a substantial amount of ATP for essential functions like nutrient and water absorption, as well as growth and maintenance of their tissues. The primary form of respiration in healthy plant roots is aerobic respiration, which is highly efficient, yielding up to 30-38 ATP molecules per glucose molecule. Anaerobic Respiration (Inefficient): If roots are deprived of oxygen (e.g., in waterlogged soil), they switch to anaerobic respiration, which is far less efficient, producing only 2 ATP molecules per glucose molecule and also generating alcohol, which can be toxic and kill the plant. Therefore, a plant with healthy, oxygenated roots performing efficient aerobic respiration in addition to the rest of the plant's cellular respiration has a much greater overall ATP production and energy capacity. A soil without organic matter will generally have a low Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). Biochar is often prized for its potential to increase soil cation exchange capacity (CEC), but this effect is highly dependent on the specific properties of the biochar (feedstock and pyrolysis temperature) and the soil type to which it is applied. High-ash biochars, especially those produced at lower temperatures and applied to acidic or sandy soils, can significantly boost CEC by providing abundant binding sites for cations like calcium (Ca²⁺), magnesium (Mg²⁺), and potassium (K⁺). Biochar is more sustainable than typical organic matter for long-term soil improvement primarily due to its high stability and resistance to microbial decomposition, allowing it to persist in the soil for hundreds to thousands of years. This longevity provides a lasting positive effect on soil properties, particularly by increasing the cation exchange capacity (CEC) over time, while regular organic matter breaks down much faster. Biochar generally offers a much higher CEC than coco coir, though specific values vary greatly; while coco coir might sit around 40-60 cmol/kg, biochar can range from tens to over 200 cmol/kg, with sources like Acacia wood biochar or even coconut shell biochar often surpassing coco's capacity due to its porous structure, creating significantly more cation-binding sites for nutrients, making it superior for nutrient retention. Needs to be charged similar to coco but at a much higger rate. But shhhh.. It's a secret. Ancient biochar-rich soils in the Amazon basin (known as Terra Preta) provide evidence of carbon stability lasting over 500 to 2,000+ years. Recommend a balanced ratio of key cations, particularly calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and potassium (K). A widely accepted general "ideal soil" cation saturation ratio is approximately 65-85% Ca, 6-12% Mg, and 2-5% K. That's roughly what I give mine. Can even add N in its NH4+ form

So the ladies are still standing. I decided to let them go another few days to fully mature. They are looking very nice and the extra days were really worth it. Welcome to my Slurircane Diary sponsored by MSNL. SD 8-9 She's growing as a seedling should. Gonna keep her in the 1.7L pot for a few more days and then I'll uppot to her final veg pot 11L. And then into an 18L for the whole flowering phase. VD1 10th Day. She's on her way, healthy and into veg with no issues, as of yet, as there rarely is with seedlings. Veg Day 1-3 Was going so well. Then, my veg tent, out of 7 of them. I gave 6 (ages from 7wks to 6 days) Mystical Green From Terra Power and look at the damage it cost me in my video. Bad Enzyme Reaction. Nothing I can do but ride it out. All Terra Power products have been Ditched and replaced with Plagron. Its not that, they're bad. I just don't have any of their base nutrients. And I've the full Agla Grow, bloom & other Plagron Products I'll be using for this grow. I've flushed the plant. Added Silic Rock, Power Roots, Alga Grow and sprayed the Leafs With Vita Race "once a wk for VR, and every water for the rest as is suggested. I'm using their pro mix, it's specifically goes best with the Alga Products. If you're using their light mix, I suggest their Terra range. I've also taken Plagron Zyme from the Terra Grow list, as it's an Enzyne for the whole process. And also I added Silic Rock for issues like The Mystical Green Caused, my entire crop, even the baby, so, I know 100% it was MG, and it's meant to be able to be given for the entire grow. I've had it for over a yr. But, she shelf life should of been well in date. Very disappointed. I flushed the 2 1.7L pots. And restarted them on Plagron power Zyme/Roots, Alga Grow & Terpinator "The OG" Diet: Been keeping it on the light side a 3:1:3 ratio. Grow, Bloom, Micro 630-670ppm 5.8-6.1ph. Artios Touch was given. I'm thinking of putting her on a Full Plagron Alga Diet with their light mix..also I'll be getting Terpinator. Something I badly need to improve the taste/terpine profile. I'll also be using Green Sensation/ pure Zyme/ root stim/ Terra Grow&bloom. And mega worm humus. Edited Day 12. Sadly Mystical Green, has caused a nasty reaction in all my girls, I know looks like a def, "it's not, it's in all the girls I gave MG to, even my 6 day old seedling and my girl that just entered Veg Day 3 Day 12, in the video was affected. Everything that got a dose of it did. Except the Frosted Guava, she was given another Enzyme, and was just gonna add it today, so glad I held off. So annoyed. Only the next days will tell if Plagron can save my crop. Decided to start pushing Terpinator, as she's not getting any worse, crisis averted. Vita Race "must be used as foliar spray once a wk" was applied and will be until 3rd week of Flowering. Lights P/SF 1000(s) are been used. For flowering I'll be using an FC4800 "hopefully" along with the IR/UV 45.

Week 5 of flower cotton balls are forming Starting the heavy flower feeding and using the rain rings on the pots see video, so far so good just waiting for these ladies to bulk up I have one light that is getting replaced on the next grow as is has some leds not lighting up so its running at 70% and the plant in the lower left corner is showing it its way smaller than the other 5,,, oh well, till next time be safe.

Week 5 and this week we are in flowering. More like a pre-flower. Got my filter and fan hook up as smells are starting to get stronger. Still running nuts at 100%. Did a big defoliation and install a trellis net.

No changes to nutes except few extra drops of calmag just in case and will try to fill the net entirely. Week 7 Nov 27- Dec 3 Nov 27 Selective defoliation applied on Xena. 8-10 mainly small fan leaves. She is still a bit shy to open as much as her sister. No rush my girl. You still doing great! Nov 28 First watering for this week. 7ltr beetwen them both with 4h spread. Runoffs. Xena 300ml PH 6.1 Athena 250ml PH 6.4 😁. So far the largest amount of my magic mixture consumed by my 🍌💜👊 girls. Well done👏 Nov 29-30 Leaves tucking and joyful observation🤓 Dec 1 Selective defoliation and first stage of lolipopping on both girls. Decided to go a bit heavier as tomorrow heading for trip and wont see my girls until Tuesday! They will be all alone without any supervision so hopefully they will behave and I will be nicely surprised of their development on my return. Watered with 2tr mixture and sprayed with water and fish mix solution right after defoliation. Planning to feed them tomorrow as much possible 6-7ltr before heading off to our voyage to Amsterdam 😎 do anyone know ls if any of coffeeshops have Fastbuds strains available? Hi As you can see my babies are close to the cut, I would say 2 weeks left. So now I’ll stop feeding them and let the nature do its job. Its for sure one of my best session

She is looking very good, although she was getting very bushy without training, I have to spread the canopy out over the whole tent to maximize yields. I got 4 plants in a 80x80 space and will be trying to create a even canopy, so far so good 💪🏻

December was a very busy month for me and my family but I was able to take a couple pictures as they progressed into flower. I am aware these autos are taking longer than normal and I'm thinking it was caused by my room temps. the next round of plants are explosive in growth since they have been raised up with the heat and air functioning correctly. I am still nursing this round of plants to finish and am extremely happy with the terps that they are throwing down. royal queen is a company I will for sure try again. i also added Gaia green power bloom as a top dressings right at the start of pistils showing. my next round consists of 420fastbuds , seedsman, and speed run seeds.
