High-ash biochars, especially those produced at lower temperatures and applied to acidic or sandy soils, can significantly boost CEC by providing abundant binding sites for cations like calcium (Ca²⁺), magnesium (Mg²⁺), and potassium (K⁺). Biochar is more sustainable than typical organic matter for long-term soil improvement primarily due to its high stability and resistance to microbial decomposition, allowing it to persist in the soil for hundreds to thousands of years. This longevity provides a lasting positive effect on soil properties, particularly by increasing the cation exchange capacity (CEC) over time, while regular organic matter breaks down much faster. Biochar generally offers a much higher CEC than coco coir, though specific values vary greatly; while coco coir might sit around 40-60 cmol/kg, biochar can range from tens to over 200 cmol/kg, with sources like Acacia wood biochar or even coconut shell biochar often surpassing coco's capacity due to its porous structure, creating significantly more cation-binding sites for nutrients, making it superior for nutrient retention. Needs to be charged similar to coco but at a much higger rate. But shhhh.. It's a secret. Recommend a balanced ratio of key cations, particularly calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and potassium (K). A widely accepted general "ideal soil" cation saturation ratio is approximately 65-85% Ca, 6-12% Mg, and 2-5% K. That's roughly what I give mine. Can even add N in its NH4+ form

Day 64, 22nd of November 2021: Hi there! Here we go..... so basically pistils are appearing stronger this is the 2nd weeks since they started producing pre flowers. The plants getting a bit light might be some air circulation problem? However they look good and of course closer to the end the gettin' older so the leaves also die. Set up and timing is the same since flower season started. ViparSpectra XS2000 is on full power which is 240W so 100% capacity. Ventilation: 12 hours period when the lamp is on it switches 1 hour on and after one hour off mostly to keep the temperature and of course because of fresh air flow. When the lamp is off it switches on in every 2 hours for 15 min at the same time with the extraction fan. The extraction fan is on 12 hours when the lamp is, and then it switches on in every 2 hours for 30 min. That's all a bit more water for them from today also. Humidity quite the same approx 50%, temperature as well approx 26-27 Celsius. Fertilization remains the same since last week, the BioBizz family raised up to be 2ml/L each so it is like 2ml/L of BioGrow, 2ml/L of BioBloom, 2ml/L of TopMax... see the ratio above. The schedule of the fertilization has not changed happnes 2x a week except epsom salt just 1x a week.

I'll be taking some pic's of her when she comes out of the dark and during harvest...Stay tuned, this is some 🔥! I am continuing to water while she's in the dark with 0.5g of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8 @67℉ to keep her hydrated. 9/12- Well she's out of the dark where she spent roughly 60 hours. I kept the temp's @ 64℉ and the RH at 45%. After I brought her out I shot a few pictures of her, then plucked off all of the shade leaves. I then cut her off at her base and hung her whole. I'll keep the RH in the room @ 50% for the first 24hrs., then raise it to 55-60% for the remainder of the drying. I have the temperatures in the Dry Room at a constant 65℉ to help preserve the terpenes. Hopefully she'll take 10-12 days to dry to the point that she's ready to be trimmed and jarred! Hi everyone, some tme ago i found some seeds in a bag of weed bought at the local weedshop. I will try my own version/style of LST this time keeping my fingers crossed... bagseed... so many risks LoL I use Hy-pro feeding, no nutrient problems so far. And in later stages i throw in all kinds of supplementary nutrients, some mineral, some bio. As we buy in legal stores since ages here, our quality standards are quite high, so when i do this at home i try to achieve that quality, it isn't difficult to surpass the quality. So,, lets hope for the best, Game On

This week I top dressed, as it had been about a month since the last one. 7.7.25: 💚 2 Cups Worm Castings 💚 1 Cup Canna Coco 💚 1 Cup Perlite *I use this as my base for the top dressing, adding the dry amendments to this so as not to burn the plants, by evenly distributing a slower release feed. Thanks to the Worm Castings. Dry Amendments 🧡 1 TBS Ecothrive Charge 🧡 1 TBS Ecothrive Life Cycle 🧡 1 TBS Ground Cinnamon I watered this in with 2ltrs PH'd to 6.4 containing the following nutrients; 💜 1/4 TSP Ecothrive Biosys 💜 3ml Ecothrive Trace PH: 6.4 PPM: 377. She has a very short bushy structure to her, and we aren't gaining much height yet. I haven't had a plant like this before, so we'll see what happens. On the next day, 8.7.25, I topped the plant. They look more dense and tastier than my first try, i really want to taste them to compare the dfference between this grow and the previous one. Today i bought a new tent, ballast and lamp, so i'll start the next grow tomorrow 😋 i don't need to wait for plant to be dry before start a new grow now o/ Thanks for your support and see you next week !

They’re getting juicy, just feed some compost tea made from Dr Earth Tomatoes Veg and herb fertilizer and some Molasses. Just seen a Nat so I don’t think I’ll be doing the tea again, I want to prevent bugs as much as I can. I’ll be putting up a sticky trap to catch it I only seen 1 but 1 is enough for me

Well this little girl is forming very much like kush buds would , very dense and thick bud with very few white pistel hairs , A very attractive bud too watch form , she is packing on bud like there is no tomorrow as you can see from the pics and drinking the pot dry every 3 days of 8 pints , the colour from this plant is truly a sight indeed and the smell she is giving off is like a mouthful of blackberry jelly and icecream back when you was a kid , i am very excited about this one and cannot wait too try her ,

Week 6 of flower! Coming into the final stretch and thankfully this catches me up to the present with this journal. All the girl's are really getting thirsty faster and I've upped their daily to 1gl each with half doses of CalMag+ and PH'd to 6.3. I'll be changing PH to 6.5 for the last 3 weeks of flower to help with their autuming off. The WW is getting so resinous it's ridiculous. Keeping nighttime temps @ 60F and mid 70's during the day with 4 hours of enhanced UV via the HLG UV bar. Supposed to help with tricome and terpene production....we'll see!

Update 29/8/2021 Nothing much going on last couple of day's today the pots ran dry again so i've watered them and gave new nutrients. some leaves still start to turn yellow but i'm just leaving them as they go now. 1 plants is still not really showing any progress in growth.. the 2 others slowly seem to grow. Update 1/9/2021 Hey Folks, again not much action this week. picking some dead leaves left and right. but thats it. Really starting to think that 1 plant is lost. it doesn't show any more growth. we are slowly getting closer to the finish line. and man do i want to finish this.. and start a new cycle with all the knowledge I have now.😎 stay safe🙏

The plants are all really taking off nice bud growth and very healthy looking canopy. Plants are going through water every 3 days on the dot now. I have noticed that one plants buds are showing some purple hues but the others remain colorless so far. The Smell is really nice already. Very fruity it reminds me of fruit loops. My light is on full blast and the plants are praying nicely. There have been no signs of stress from the flip. I will likely defoliate a bit at the end of the week to make sure everything can get as much light as possible.

Cut down today definatly needed few more days as fan leaves where still green but i had to do it today. Smells amazing like peppery skittles. Let me know what you think will and i will update when dry and cured.
