Well, today was the last day veging. I defoliated the lower 20%, switched on the red LEDs and set the timer to 12h. I activated the 2nd fan inside the box and also switched on the mini fan connected to the cooled hood. I'll leave it open until the stretch or the smell begins. As soon as there's any smell, I'll close the system by adding the glass shield. Also, I'll save the resulting temperature drop for the later weeks so... let's see... Nutrients added: about nothing. I read somewhere you should flush the plants before the switch so I just feed a normal quantity of water with only a bit of nutrients. It's around a 1/20th of the recommended dose maybe. Let the adventure begin!

High GD community Week 16, Zuchinis all around, tomatoes getting ready on a daily. Cucumbers are getting almost mature proportions. Everything going well. Terra preta Location: center perma garden Surface: 125cm x 105cm Depth: 115cm The hole was dug out over 3 days, it were very sunny days. 😅 Theres mostly loamsand with a small sandloam bottom that was very hard. The sand was also very compressed and hard. The top layer is this grey dusty soil of about 40cm deep. At the bottom theres pure sand thats soft, easy drainable. First step is to fill up the entire bottom with fine chopped wood, progressively using bigger pieces of wood. I try to use some hardwood like oak to for its extra K (potassium = pot ash). A bit of charcoal to. This will take the entire first day, bcs it needs to have a minimal ticknes of pure ashes of around 5cm. Otherwise, after compressing it with the upcoming layers, the ash-line would almost disappear. Not all the wood needs to be burned entirely. Its a first layer with lots of N and K. Bones can be used to in the fire making the NPK complete. But it can be added also as a separated layer. I dont have that much bone material because my 2 dogs, or eating, or burry them somewere. Little warning at the end, be aware of your local laws applied to open fires. 😅😉 After a good burn ive got between 8 and 12cm of ashes in total over the entire surface. A small layer of soil (5cm) is put on top of that. Theres no need to harden out that layer, pressure will to the work and the layers will compress over time into ideal circumstances. On to the next layer!! Next is a layer of the compost, but the part that isnt allready decomposed. Its green/brown/yellow of color. And a bit of everything, grass, weeds, leafs and some thin branches. Another layer soil to cover that up. Now i formed a thin layer of chopped(10mm) wood(beech), just enough to make a thin,almost 1 piece high, layer. On to this i added a complete wheelbarrel of compost(black) with small pieces of still not completly decomposed materials. Lots of worms here. On that, you guessed it, an other layer of soil. I try to have both types of soil in that mix, the almost pure sand and the more grey type. Next, back to the beech. This time the rest of the bag follows. Theres a good layer of around 3cm deep. On this ive layed down some new small woodsticks to make a small fire again. Starting at the center and adding some last branches i found. It turned out really smoky!! Half way the burn ive opend the core of the fire, trying to spread the small pieces of char over the complete surface. After that, i added for the first time some water here. And an other layer of soil again, this is just covering up each time. Max 5cm!! Now we are at the upper half of the pit. Still 50cm to go. Now ive added some compost again, the green/brown/yellow one, with on top of that, a 15 liter bucket with compressed bokashi fermentated kitchen leftovers. Making a layer out of that and some fresh bokashi juice with 10 liters of water to drain those benificial bacteria into to compost layer just underneath it. This layer is almost 20cm tick. Again, yeah, soil, 5cm. Ive bought some blond peat to at to to toplayers. Last 25 to 30cm of soil, is a mix of the peat(20%) and the two other types of soil. First ill do tiny layers of each, last 10cm i try to mix it. And to finish the job, ive took some 100% reused and composed soil with some perlite in it from past use. I havent watered a lot, but the meteo predicts a good amount of water in the upcoming days. The soil that stayed and didnt get back to its original place, ive used to make a new top layer on the rest of the mini field. I havent used clay because it was hard to find or just to expensive. Beside the peat(250l), i didnt buy anything. So its labor intensive, but real cheap. So this final week the buds on this Orange Hill Special are filling out. They are getting rock solid and the calyxes are doing their final swelling. Also, the trichomes have started forming and up close, they are forming a white sticky film over the whole bud. The buds feel heavy and compact, although their size could have been bigger but not complaining with this amount of bud. I have just been feeding some perma tea and clean water since this soil is probably very high in nutes by now. I had some brown leaf points so just adjusted and all was fine. Now we go into the final one or two weeks. I did some final defoliation to expose some underside buds, they are swelling too. Removed some sticky underside larf, kept it in a box to gradually dry for a preliminary taste test coming days. WOW! What a stinky little powerhouse this apricot is turning into, I've never smelt weed like this, so unique. She was always a runty little thing but what she's lacks in size she makes it up with her character, purple, pink resin coated gem buds💎

Day 114. Gorilla Max is totally ready, maybe she would bulk up, but last white pistil went brown at least a week ago. Time to trim. Bud not solid, but kinda hard, bottom all airy and small, but she smells and sticky like hell, so fruity ... Had to chop her, because got tiered of seeds everywhere, so cleaned my draws and fridge, from 45 found bag seeds started new diary, had to make space for them. Want to try out 12/12 from start and even if i would leave them under natural sun , they would stretch too much in first stage of grow and would repeat that grow patern indoors. Scissors hash was nice, super soft, hard to roll, all stays on hands. On this plant found two seeds, maybe some hidden in colas, but its not even close to bad that i was imagining at the beginning. My watering damage is obvious, Gorilla Max and Bunny were best plants, now - they are smallest... Last weeks very important, till week 5 of flower and that incident they were leaders, overdrying don't work . Hope i will learn this lesson. Day 120. Last 3 girls are down. Gorilla Max - 88 g. Of dry bud. Think she and Bunny will be smallest of them all. Buds are airy, but very sticky and all calaxies went pink. So in spliff it looks really funky. Needed to lolitop them higher, maybe overall look and cola structure would be better then. Lanky Gorilla is a champ, no doubt. Think this girl should beat 4 ounces easy. Day 126. So total of all 4 plants is 401. A bit less than was hoping, but target achieved. Update will follow.

Week 11 is also flush week an harvest week for the good looking Tropicana Cookies from fast buds she has also been doing great under the 12 an 12 light cycle under the medic grow fold 6 growing some good sized dense buds from feeding on cronk nutrients

Have done some more LST and defoliated this week. Its another slow grow, but not seeing any health issues so far.

The ladies are coming along very nice. I had to defoiliate them once cause they blew up and I needed the lower branches to get the light. Now it's time to start training these girls. Some but not all will be trained. I'm so pleased with the outcome so far. The banana blaze is super easy to grow as well as the Colorado Cookies. They are on their stretch mode now. Flushed one for a week and now into darkness. The last two that started flower under the cheap LEDs need a bit longer. They will need another three weeks. The one plant looks really pretty and smells great. The upside is I don't have to trim them all up at the same time. Looking forward the the cure. Cheers

10 weeks from seed to harvest. The nutrient line I was using didn’t give me optimal growth, for this strain and my level of experience. Had some great growth and veg time, about 4 weeks, but when flower kicked in they got beastly. I would say I had two different phenos of this strain, and the one pheno that is unique, had slightly looser buds than the other two. This could be because of the LST/super cropping of the main cola. The other two had nice rock hard frosty buds and have similar smells and profile. The other one has more citrus, and was a bit lanky, more sativa in looks. Overall, easy enough to grow, no major surprises, and decent enough yield for 10 weeks. This is a strain that could have been better had I not had some issues with either lockout/deficiencies.
