Royal gorilla stuff

Captain’s Log (I know that’s a different show) Today was my first day on earth and Willie got me straight to work mixing and digging preparing the soil. I would add 2ltrs of Plagron lightmix, 0.5ltrs of perlite, then 6grms of RQS Easy Boost, 1grm of Mycorrhiza mix, 0.5grms of Rhizobacter, mix it up and then keep repeating these steps until the pot was full. I feel like I could sleep for a whole light year. Seed was soaked in ph’d water for 24hrs before planting. I’ve got a lot of thinking and soul searching to do before I can decide how much Lightside and Darkside I want in my strain, or Sativa and Indica as they call it here on earth. I think I may need to try contact the ghost of Obi Wan for some advice on this one.

Day 57 - Starting week 9 and she’s doing good from the feeding of nutes yesterday and she really seems to like the second AGLEX light on, she’s already plumped up a ton overnight. Went and did a very light defoliating tonight as well and will continue with a little each day. Day 58 - Nothing much to speak of today, she’s fattening up nicely and frosty as hell. The way things are looking, she’ll probably be harvested in two stages unless some of the middle and lower stuff really start filling in. Day 61 - She was all dried up today and needed a good shot of water, pretty droopy, so gave her a full 2 gallons of plain water today. It’s looking like her pistils are shriveling up and might be coming to an end, just a couple weeks left. From here on out, I’ll start monitoring her trichs and probably start flushing her next watering. Day 62 - Did a pretty heavy defoliation today since she doesn’t have much more time left. Buds are nice and fat and only getting frostier and fatter. Might end up doing a little more in a few days depending on how she reacts to today’s work. Day 63 - Ending week 9 today and buds are amazing right now. She’s not gonna get any more nutes other than what the schedule calls for and that’s Magical and Sugardaddy for the flush. First time using the Technaflora nutes from start to finish and impressed so far. Removed a few more leaves today as well. The trichs are mostly cloudy right now with still a few clear but hopefully they’ll amber up in the next 2 weeks or so.

Están sanas pero tuve un error grande, la primera semana dejé desenchufada la extracción y se ahogaron un poco, me di cuentes pronto pero el daño está hecho, están más pequeñas de lo normal, lo bueno crecerán y se desarrollarán bien igualmente. La humedad es perfecta, la temperatura me gustaría tenerla par de grados más abajo pero aún así es pasable. Empiezo aplicar el flash root de Agrobeta y Blue line A de Agrobeta. Esta semana añadí tucán y gold joker también de Agrobeta. Update from last week that I forgot: I gave her a final feed at 75%... WEEK 25 DAY 1 ... omg... 😂😂😂 It really took me half a year to finish this one... unbelievable... 😅 Well, so far I'm still super happy. Everything seems to go just fine but I'll never do this again..haha.. (vegging under a 50W bulb xD)... Soooo... looking at the trichs, I think the harvest window has just opened. There's still a lot of clear but the cloudy ones are starting to come and there's already a little amber on the leaves. I suppose I'm really close to harvest now. I'll be flushing her next time for sure. First, I'll feed her a low nutrient solution, maybe around 25% and half of the usual water quantity because I'm not that sure about when she really finishes so she dries out more quickly. Next, I'll use Grotek Final Flush right before I'll chop her down. I don't want to use this right away because last time my plants were dying a bit too fast so.. not to be repeated ;) Getting impatient now. Hopefully it will be a White Christmas...haha! DAY 2 Gave her one last feed at 25%. Poured only half of the usual water quantity. Left the BloomComplex totally aside because she seems like she's doing a little 'clawing'. Maybe there's too much Nitrogene? Trichs are beginning to get cloudy, with a little amber in between. I'll flush her with plain ph'd water tomorrow probably or should I wait some more days? What do you think? I'm never sure when the time is right... :/ DAY 3 I just took some more pictures with a macro lens attached to my iPhone. Seems like the buds in the middle do have way more amber than the other ones around which have swollen more compared to the ones in the middle but have less amber. The last days, I didn't check the ones in the middle so I changed my mind. I just flushed her with Grotek Final Flush. I'll wait for some hours for the solution to break down the salts and then I'll flush again to get rid of the flushing solution. I'm also gonna switch the timetable to 8/16. (16 hours of dark) and I'll drop the temperatures some 2 more degrees.

Que pasa familia, venimos de nuevo ,actualizamos otra semana de floración y es que nuestras crazy cookies están cogiendo un tamaño colosal, todavía escupen flores, seguiremos abonando con advanced nutrients con el ph regulado correctamente, bajamos algo más la humedad prefiero que a esta altura ya no supere el 40%. Hemos hecho una limpia de hojas bajeras y la luz ya asoma por todas las partes de la planta. Ya hasta la semana que viene suficiente, un saludo para todos los fumetillas.

Kill off the gg4 ibl it seems degraded from old seed maybe just didn't push anything. The natural stims and cytokinin I used really made these crazy looking for now but they are sticky af and already dense! Can't imagine them in 4 weeks 😛

Day 44- I need to back off on the water nutes, I am forgetting the soil is strong enough. I will flush with plain water next time. Maybe I should do a plain water foliar feed? I’m still learning. But I think those B vitamins are keeping their metabolism high! Then I feel the need to spoon feed. After giving them much needed calcium, I start adding other things. Those Epsom Salts plus the amino acids on a plant with high metabolism receiving more B1, all while having lots of amended neem cake in the media, is going to be processing a sh*t load of nitrogen! Back to plain water. Another idea, maybe I will flush a little bit, and feed just CalMag. Day 48 I realized I haven’t gotten any pictures in for this week! Not that big of a mistake compared to the one I just corrected! The video is taken when they are back inside for the night as it a cold windy night, and they could use more light. I am not talking because I am sick and can’t talk to well. But it’s just quickly showing how they look after the whole ordeal I am about to mention. So I woke up this morning, and noticed all of the plants were showing subtle signs of a deficiency. Different deficiencies too! Some are going on the calcium deficiency, others potassium, some manganese even maybe a few others to be honest. Sometimes I could only see signs in the old leaves, and other times I would see signs in new leaves. Either way “most” of them were looking pretty good. But something about all this variability with different plants was oddly unsettling to me. I figured I had better stick the soil pH meter in there and make sure it’s not a pH issue. And to my horror, pH of barely 4.5!! More like 4.20! But honestly it was that low!!!! A miracle these plants haven’t locked out yet! But how did this happen? Yes it is all coming together for me. Every water I have been giving feed-water. I have been watering with a little runoff, but not enough runoff to manage what I was putting in! I’ve been “feed-watering” a lot more than usual because the pots are tiny and it’s super hot and mega dry during the days. Like 75-80 degrees (F) and 10-25% relative humidity lately. So no wonder they are drying out fast. All those salts left behind from last feed. So they built up, apparently pretty high. I didn’t think I was feeding too much, especially because I would get a descent amount to drain out the bottoms every time. Either way, I fed too heavy and flushed too little! So I brought out the foxfarm SLEDGEHAMMER!!!!! Did a quick flush, flushed with plain water to get the sledgehammer out, then a recheck on the soil pH meter. Comes out 6.8! So I gave feed-water at ph of 7 afterwords. They were dry enough before all of this, I conveniently avoided damping issues. Now they will dry out and receive plain pH 7 RO water on next watering. I still have lots of doubt as if I have any clue what I am doing! But so far so good. I try to support the microbes as much as possible, i definitely could use their support. And it might be because of the microbes, CalMag and fulvic acid, that has prevented lockout. But yeah the fact the pH in the soil was corrected with a flush, gives me a peace of mind. The other three from “The Hondo Titan” diary had high levels of sulfur to lime, the flush did not fix, so I repotted them in new soil with pH 7. Also those hydroton expanded clay pebbles become rich with acidic salts, because the water leaves and all the nutes and minerals are captured and stored with the pebbles. Good in small levels. But if the pot dries out every day, those pebbles will eventually make the pH meter smack the end suggesting less than pH of 3.5!!!!!!!! But no pebbles were used on these girls thankfully!!

The canopy has spread out nicely, and I’ll be moving to 12/12 any day now. The structure looks balanced, and we’re close to that ideal fill before the stretch kicks in. The single Critical Mass plant is still a bit limey in colour, but I won’t wait for it to fully even out. The fresh growth looks healthy, which is what matters most at this stage. Now it’s time to flip and let them show what they’ve got. Stats so far: 💧 Watering: Every third day 🌡️ Temp: 26–28°C 💦 Humidity: 65% RH 📈 VPD: ~1.18 kPa 💡 Light: ~600 PPFD

Greetings my dear Jungletamers, So a major surprise came when @MarsHydroLED contacted us and asked if would like to try out their new SP 3000 light. Being a fan of Mars Hydro for years, we of course accepted their offer. We are totally in love with this light. I was when I saw it in another grower's setup and was in awe of its output and results. With many lessons learned from the previous grow, a mighty producing strain in the form of Expert Seeds Gorilla Glue #4, a.k.a Expert Gorilla's and a tweaked super soil mixture, we are setting out to hopefully get over a gram per watt, preferably 1.5. The Setup A 4.5 (140 cm) x 2(70) x 6.2 (200) grow tent, giving me a .98 m2 workspace. This space is customized to my needs. A standing fan will provide airflow through the whole grow, a top fan will help guide cooler air past my lights onto the grow. 3 56 ltr pots will be the home for the plants when they are 2 weeks old, up to then in smaller jars. The Light The leading role and star of the show will be played by the Mars Hydro SP-3000, so kindly provided by MarsHydroLED, which we will test and review here and I might say, endorse. I'm very careful with who I endorse and support these days, but a company with that many wins in design, I'm talking ever since their first range came out in 2009 these guys have been raising the bar for the whole industry, I did not hesitate to support this leading brand. If you want to compete with these guys, you better bring some quality AND affordable pricing. Why do I endorse the SP-3000 without ANY hesitation? It is seriously THE BEST light on the market in this price range and size group. It has an enormously effective output in U/Mol and with 30% less energy waste comparing to older LED lights. Prove me wrong! And with a company holding a considerable market share selling thousands of units every month, competing on price and quality, one would think that customer service would suffer. Of course, also Mars Hydro is not perfect, but check the sheer amount of people that not only praise the light but also the service received, should the light somehow not perform up to par. It is this dedication to their customer base that made this company have a fanbase... Yes, a fanbase with a website and a wiki. Because of the great results, we are going to use the same recipe, adjusted some more with some new ingredients that will complete the mix and give an even more sustained super soil buffer. 20% Atami Bi-grow (very similar to ocean forest) 20% Atami worm castings 20% Atami Coco Coir 10% Hydrocorn 10% Peat powder 1 cup Fossil seaweed chalk 1 cup bonemeal 1 cup bloodmeal 1 cup Microlife 3-4 teaspoons of epsom salt 3 cups of activated biochar (activated with our own permaculture tea) I just made layers, starting with hydro corn on the bottom to aid airflow/run-off. On this I started layering the coco coir, Bi-grow, peat, castings, and amendments in a way that the more mature the plants get, the more phosphorous and less nitrogen they will find. Every time I made three layers, I would mix them by hand. This way we simulate natural soil, which consists of humic layers, composting plant waste, fungal and microbial life, and nutrients from fossilized sources. The Nutrients I will start with just adding 6.4 PH water, although this soil should buffer ph itself and regulate, after 4 weeks, I'll slowly be adding: - Biobizz Grow - Plagron Alga Grow - Biobizz CalMag - Biobizz Flower - Plagron Alga Flower - Biobizz Topmax - Melasses The Tea Some of you might remember the permaculture tea from my previous grow, I have a short video in my harvest page showing how we make it), it will star again in this grow. - (Rain)water - Comfrey (whole plants) - Dandelion leaves - Roots and leaves from the earlier grow - Minor periwinkle (Finca minor) is a plant we have in our garden, it contains an alkaloid that is associated with increased brain function but also is a light toxin for wee beasties and other unwanted guests like gnats (who hate it). - When flowering I add some wood ash to this mix Thank you for checking in on one of my grows again! Day 44 - Today it's time to say sayonara to the undergrowth as I clear away a lot of the fan leaves and make room to further shape the canopy. I took each of the 8 branches that I previously cuffed off to fan leaves, and tied them down into their final resting place - rounding out the final shape of the plant. Day 47 - Defoliation ✂️ - over the course of 3 days, this lady bushed out like woah - causing me to dive back in the the scissors. Ermahgerd! 😱 She showed me a ♥️!

☀️ // Day 14 🍁 Yeah, about that stretch.. she is also a lenghty plant. She stretched from 30 cm (bend down!) to 70+ cm straight up. With means she more than doubled her size in every way possible. Which became a problem as you can see. Some leafs have very minor light burns and because of that, I needed to reduce the intensity from 100 % to 85 %. I maybe need to decrease it even further if she doesn't stop with it. My hopes are that with the lower intensity, she continues with her amazing journey. It's odd tho, that I have two plants after another in the VGrow that are just incredible stretchers. I just hope I reacted instantly enough but unfortunetely, I can't supervise her in the next 4 days because I am on a travel. She will explode in bud sites till then, I am sure. She got 5 L water today, with 1 g of Bactrex and 20 ml of Orgatrex. This is the beginning of her 3rd week of flower and she hasn't got any Microorganism since the beginning of flower. This will give the soil a boost for the upcoming weeks! 💦 Watering: 5 L with pH = 6.4 💊 Fertilizer: Bactrex, Orgatrex, Epsom Salt 💡 Light: 850 PPFD at 85%
