Really just a video from this week but I think I was a week or 2 behind anyways lol just so y’all can see some real color of my girls. Still haven’t named em but I’ll be doing that in the next week I’m switching em to 12 gradually within the next week to experiment with some stretching during the transition compared to a straight 12 switch

While I’m waiting for my trellis is there anything I can do to lst for a scrog setup? I’ve topped but what’s a good rec for topping 3-5 nodes? First time scrog attempt so any help or tricks would be amazing ty

The point of scrog is to eliminate a canopy so all branches receive equal light. Fair enough. How about we allow the plant to grow as nature intended, Christmas tree shape, except we ...? A- place lights also at angle to simulate mid morning or afternoon. This accomplishes what working so hard to achieve with scrog does. In nature most of the light plants receive is not from the high noon position; it penetrates side branches at an angle. B- discourage top stem growth by gently spreading her shoots out and down, and maybe put a little paper cup or clear plastic hat or on her. Plastic will amplify light and possibly scorch or whirl her so if using clear plastic, apply it lights off only. This will send the message to the top stem that there is a physical obstruction and she will push out side branches. I grew a 75% sativa recently UNTOPPED that remained under 24” tall. Looked like an auto. No topping no tying down no net. See my same handle on Insta for pics. Untopping = XLST

What can I do to speed up the growth of the smaller plant to catch up to the larger one if anything? Doing a scrog but had a little late start and still waiting on the trellis. Thanks for any help very new to the scene

“Doctor, I have two twin children but they’re not identical. One is taller than the other. What can I do to make the shorter child catch up in height?” Sounds a little silly when phrased in human terms, eh? But we can control height of plants somewhat, as you’ve been advised already by @MangoDudu. But I’d keep feeding food/nutes. Don’t hold back a plant that is thriving. If runt doesn’t catch up, so be it. Now you know why I germinate 60 seeds at a time, put 24 of them in soil, and end up growing only a few to harvest. But that’s prohibitively expensive for a typical grower, and a great reason to grow regular photoperiods, and breed to have stock of your own seeds! I have thousands I keep in airtight jars, wrapped in foil in the fridge. Lots of people scrog, but it seems like extra work to me. If you like spending that much time tinkering in the garden, enjoy! A gentle breeze to make leaves dance a slow hula is all they need to grow strong and never require support. On rare occasions I’ve had to wrap a bungee around plant to hold up branches late in flower. Simple and easy and about 10 seconds of effort. Keep at it! Enjoy the process as much as your harvest!

So I noticed my leaves have these little white dots all over the top and when inspecting the underside there’s little white dots there so I’m thinking thrips and I’ve seen a cpl gnats flying around. I’m gonna order some ladybugs and get some pesticides today..what would be good?

Be careful with pesticides... Also : Ladybugs AND pesticides don’t really match well 😅... There are loads DIY recipes online with natural ingredients.Take a look at those before you use the heavy stuff. If you really want to use pesticides use something like Pyrethro-pur. Spray the leaves once a week for 2 weeks straight and avoid the buds. Don’t spray 2 weeks before harvest and make sure you flush and cure properly.

So I’m going to switch my plants from 18-6 to 12-12, was wondering if there’s a difference from gradually declining the light period or just making an instant switch in relations to growth of the plant in terms of it making a final stretch and final bud size? Thanks everyone

Indoors growers are focused on get the best weed on the shortest amount of time. So the majority ( if not all) do an instant switch, someone also like to do also a dark period to stimulate the flowering to start faster. If you don’t do right the gradual change you can stress your plant to be hermi and also you lose time doing that way. a light that simulates sunrise and sunset is much more useful if u want to simulate the real environment✌️🏽

First off, great job so far man! Looking healthy and awesome. Your screen looks to have a good amount so far. The amount of stretch is really gonna depend on the strain. Some will stretch 3x in flowering and some will barley double there hight. Sativa or Sativa dominate hybrid strains will stretch more then Indica ones. But generally they will double there size and stretch for the first 2-3 weeks of flowering. Just keep tucking your branches whatever way you can on the screen and try and keep them as level as possible. Once you notice there slowing down in growing if you are running out of room on your screen you can let them come up and put a second screen about a foot above your scrog screen and let them grow into this to support your massive buds your gonna get! Hope this helps. I have some pretty detailed grow diaries if you wanna see how my plants are scrog’d and how much they stretched. My delicious candy is just finishing up her stretch (they stretched way out for being indica) and my Banana bomb are mid way through stretch phase. Hope this helps, Cheers 💨

So power went out 48hrs ago, plants have been in complete darkness. I’ve got a generator able to supply some light for a short time. Was thinking a 6/18 schedule for a few days til outage is fixed. Will plants be stressed from light switch/darkness? Any help appreciated

Well Rando, they do need some minimum amount of light not to die. A longer dark period is not a problem as long as they receive that minimum. It's a dark-dependent plant. The dark period being uninterrupted and sufficiently long enough will maintain the hormonal balance that causes "Flower" growth. It's a biological trigger within the plant. ~20dli will prevent loss of mass, i believe. Depending on how strong your lights are, you may or may not get there in 6 hours... if you are up near max over 12 hours (ambient CO2), it'll be about enough. 800-900umol/s per m^2 over 6 hours would keep them moving forward. Any amount of light in this context is a good thing... so do it for 6hours or as long as you can. if you take them outside you risk pests. If you do it, do not give them direct sunlight. They will wilt and burn. Shade needed.

Leaves going yellow during flowering is perfectly OK and somewhat normal. Do not cut them off unless they are completely yellow. Cannabis being the smart plant that she is, "recycles/re-uses/re-purposes" stored vital elements that are in those leaves, things such as carbs, sugars, amino acids etc. that she has cleverly stored for future use in those leaves. This is why they will go yellow, even though she is getting good nutrition and is otherwise healthy. It is far more efficient for the plant to recycle these vital elements during flowering, than to make them from new, as making them from new will rob energy, energy that could be going into flower growth. This is what the "de-foliation brigade" fail to understand, removing healthy green leaves not only reduces your plants ability to produce energy, it also deprives her of those vital, cleverly stored elements that she needs to grow her best flowers. Hope this helps..... Organoman.

@heizen, thanks!!! Results are soon to come, also an addition as well! I’ve been using the bestva 1000w (blurple) light but I’ll be upgrading to a spider farm 2000. Hopefully that upgrade will let these colas fatten up some more u don’t think that other light had the power for the results I’m looking for. Not taking away from what it produced, which is looking like some good quality. Updates soon to come again.

@420TouristguideDWC, someone told me this “ The point of scrog is to eliminate a canopy so all branches receive equal light. Fair enough. This accomplishes what working so hard to achieve with scrog does. In nature most of the light plants receive is not from the high noon position; it penetrates side branches at an angle. Looked like an auto. No topping no tying down no net. See my same handle on Insta for pics. Untopping = XLST” If you look on my page and search through a few of my personal questions a few better growers have answered and guided me quite well. Next go around I’ll be trying nugbucket mainline technique with a seedling not clones and trying to perfect getting Atleast 16 maybe 32 colas but that means more veg time which is fine bc I’m just learning. But from what I’ve heard mainlining takes away from having to spend as much time fiddling with the net since it evenly disperses energy minus some super cropping of the inner colas. I’d search up nugbucket and go from there
