Hello. This is the end of week 8 and the beginning of week 9 of veg. Sure are growing now. The roots are liking the compost they found. Got my hydro system up and running in here. Last year I had some small tips on the hydro leads and was giving 15 minutes of solution per day. I've got different, new tips this year, a lot more open. The landscapers call them 1/2 circle. I had been watering with rainwater and having the runoff run back to the reservoir. Good thing I checked it, it was; 7 ph and 1800 ppm. Adjusted it to 6.2 ph and 1200 ppm. I can give the same amount of solution in 2 minutes now, so my 15 gallon reservoir will last a week. It's not quite enough liquid to have them fully watered, so I feel with my fingers and when dry enough I give a gallon or two of water until it runs out and back into the reservoir (the green hose is tray drainage back to the reservoir). The plants loved it last year and I'll do the same thing. Got the plants spreading out now. I can see the mainlines spreading under the rungs of the table. I got some bamboo from Canadian Tire and filled the space between tables. I might get some more and make something to hold the budding branches up (like the soccer net but with bamboo). Made the first video of this year. You can get a feeling of how it is in here. 😃 I'll try to make one a week to keep you updated. I think that's everything for this week. Day 29: No defoliation today. Giving the plant a rest after accidentally breaking the branch yesterday. Watered with nutrients (1ml G, 1ml SR). Took just under 3ltrs including run off. Day 30: Removed 3 of the original fan leaves attached to the main stem. There’s 2 left still to be removed. It seems all of a sudden the bud sites are staring to look like flowers. It doesn’t look like there’s not many bud sites. There’s also not a lot of leaves, it’s not what I would call a bushy plant (yet anyway). This suits me, well it does if the yield is good. Day 31: Watered with nutrients (1ml G, 1ml SR). Took around 3ltrs. I clipped off one more of the original big fan leaves so now there’s only one left. I also pulled in the two branches furthest to the right, bracing them off each other. Day 32: I don’t think worried is the correct word, but I am definitely conscious of the fact that this plant leaves are small and sparse (photos attached), it I’m used to battling plants that have too many leaves. There’s only 7 proper bud sites which at the moment look like they will be small. Branches are also very skinny. All this could be because of the strain itself or it could be due to the fact that the bulb I used from weeks 1 to 4 was only 125watt CFL compared to the 200watt CFL which I have always used. That’s the only difference between this and any other plant I have grown. The flowers are very well formed considering it’s not even 5 weeks old yet. Sure all we can do now is just see how it goes. Day 33: Just continued to use the Force to make the plant grow. Removed the the last two original fan leaves. *Due to commitments in the real world this week will only be five days long. Next week will be 9 days long to balance everything out.

At the beginning of week 11 they both look strong and healthy to me. Though their buds still seem smaller than the one in the 20l pot. But the look great after all :) So colorful and frosty (the smaller one) and so big and yellow (the taller one). Can't wait to harvest them :D At the middle of week 11 they both still look great and I think I saw the tall one's buds grow a bit again... There was something strange going on at the top of the head bud (of the taller one). There'S a close up picture... I guess it's just a kind of mutation and no seed. I was shocked first when I thought it was a seed...

Welcome to my Royal Gorilla Diary This grow will join the RQS outdor grow contest at later time, I hope i get lucky and bugs won't eat it. After receiving contest box, i asked about germinating indoors, after confirmation i popped a seed in the soil. Germinated in pot indoors (gift pack was massive! see pics), after germination i put outdoor but i kinda forgot her. This one is growing together with a small tobacco plant to keep some unwanted insects away, i want to add some dill and coriander soon. So our royal gorilla is in her second week already, and she looks pretty healthy. Soil is reused soil with new fertilizers added to the soil. I'using a mixture of dried cow poop pellets and chicken poop pellets to give the soil some renewed power. Most of this is in the top layer of the soil (watering from above) so nutrients can be spread extra during watering. This should be enough for the first 6-7 weeks, so when the buds start to take shape we can start with adding some mineral nutrients in addition to the organic feeding.

To the well water I added the following Dutch Pro nutrients: Grow 'A' & 'B' @ 10ml/g (I'll be switching to the "Bloom" next feed), Multi Total @ 7.6 ml/g, Take Root @ 3.8 ml/g, Silica Von Liebig’s Special @ 1.2 ml/g along with Earth Juice's Oily Can @ 5 ml/g to end up with a total 850ppm nutrient solution. After adding the nutrients and checking the EC, I ph'd the solution to 6.0 @ 74℉. 12/1- Today after doing some HST (twisting and bending branches), I went ahead and watered/fed her with 0.25g of well water with a base ppm of 100 that I allowed the excess to drain to waste. To the well water I added the following Dutch Pro nutrients: Bloom 'A' & 'B' @ 10ml/g each, Multi Total @ 7.6 ml/g, Silica Von Liebig’s Special @ 1.2 ml/g along with Earth Juice's Oily Can @ 5 ml/g to end up with a total 900ppm nutrient solution. After adding the nutrients and checking the EC, I ph'd the solution to 6.3 @ 73℉. 12/3- Today I let her dry out a bit more and will be watering/feeding her tomorrow after 'lights on'. Today all I did was take a quick video of her, check and rotate her pot and do a little HST on her main branches to keep her canopy as even as possible. 12/5- Well this little lady is getting big enough now to require daily watering as she's a very thirsty girl! I'm now watering until runoff daily with 0.25g of well water with a base ppm of 100 to which I added the following Dutch Pro nutrients: Bloom 'A' & 'B' @ 10ml/g each, Multi Total @ 7.6 ml/g, Silica Von Liebig’s Special @ 1.2 ml/g along with Earth Juice's Oily Can @ 5 ml/g to end up with a total 900ppm nutrient solution. After adding the nutrients and checking the EC (1.9 EC), I ph'd the solution to 6.3 @ 73℉. I also kept up on canopy maintenance by doing some lite bending of her main branches and ended with giving her pot 1/4 turn... Act III - Week 11: The Dame Finally Breaks Bad Hallelujah, folks! Our dame finally saw the light – or rather, the lack thereof. Flowering has begun, a slow burn that's more like a smoky confession than a fireworks display. Big shoutout to all the growmies out there who kept me calm during this green-fingered fiasco. Still, gotta be honest, this is some seriously late blooming for an "auto." My outdoor non-autos have also started flowering. Looks like this dame had her own schedule, one that wouldn't be rushed by sunshine or a well-timed trim. Growth slowed down this week, a respectable 4cm. She's putting all her energy into those precious flowers. Speaking of which, tiny shoots have started popping up all over – another sign our dame's finally embraced her floral destiny. Rain and sunshine, both in abundance this week, seem to have given her the push she needed. But the question remains, folks – will this late bloomer be worth the wait? Stay tuned for Act III, where the stakes are higher than a penthouse with a bad view, and the harvest moon hangs heavy in the smokey air.
