Hey now, I hope everyone is having a great weekend, it was a good week for the ladies in the 5X5, they are all starting to stack flowers and really starting to distinguish their own smells. The Bubble Runtz has the most indica dominant looking colas and smells absolutely amazing. The Sundae Driver is looking like she is gonna have the fattest colas and be the biggest producer. I am really hoping I get the red phenotype of the Red Hot Cookies, and both the Green Crack and Durban Nights are showing the most Sativa characteristics and looking great. I now have the Medic Grow Light cranked up to 100% in F1 mode and am also using the UV/IR for 30 minutes per day prior to lights out. I am running a 12/12 cycle and feeding the same mix of GH nutrients which include Silica, CalMag, MaxiBloom, and Bloom Booster, with additional food grade Hydrogen Peroxide in the reservoir to keep algea growth to a minimum. I mix one 5 gallon bucket of nutes per day and clean my reservoir once per week. My pump is set to auto feed the plants every 5 hours after lights on, and I have a gravity self draining runoff setup I built. Not much to do from here on out, just keep the reservoir clean and full, a little defoliation, and 5 minutes per day to mix a bucket of nutes.I hope they get fat in the next few weeks and then I have about 7 people lined up to help me trim, I will throw everyone two zips for the help. hoping to do the wet trim in a day. Today on Day 141 and at the same time @ the end of the 9th week of flowering it is Harvest day (final harvest) for the remaining two Tropicanna Banana's (Plants #1 and #3). Plant #4 was harvested on Day 134 (8th week of flowering) - see harvest pictures week 8 Plant #3 was harvested on Day 138 (9th week of flowering) - see harvest pictures week 9 Did not take any wet weights as i am drying the buds on the stalks and i dont wanna know how many stalkes i grew 😂 Will be back soon with the dry weights of each one of the four ladies. Week 15 of Ms. Hindu - Day 99 😍 The week started with trimming the dried stem that broke off and had been drying for 6 days now, see photo. The dry vs. wet difference had me shocked a bit, also my buds seem to be very fluffy, I don't mind, I'm beeming 😇 She has cured now for 2 days and the smell is amazing. We also tried a little each day now and she's brilliant and improving daily, so rewarding 😍 Day 100 - The chop While preparing her for a last photo shoot in the morning light, I found a little spot of dark mould in the middle of her dense main cola 😱After processing the shock with a strong coffee and a little smoke (of her), I chopped her down. Not all of her, but everything except a little young bud, that still wants to grow. Some bugs fell out, a green little guy (see video) and all sorts of nature. I decided to wash one part of her. I love science 😍The other half I will wet trim (also a first, the other bud was dry trimmed) and then let dry in the dry box as well. What a day, pure rollercoaster but smiling and grateful. Compared to the grow before when I did a scrog with the same genetics in the same system, there is of course much less leaf mass here. But this time I wanted just such little trees for testing purposes 😃👍. This week the entire water is changed again like every 12-15 days approx. From then on I will also go up to EC 1.3 because the flowers are starting to form well :-). More follows in next update. Heeeere we go! Sorry for the late update! This is when I start the flush! I believe the plants are pretty much ready at this point and doing this will just improve the final product! Doing this took me a good chunk of time, mostly because I didn't know exactly how much of water I was going to need (it was a loooot 😫) and how hard/tiring it was to pH it as well. In the end my calculations were off, as I needed far more water than what I had (lol) so I didn't manage to do a full flush... but I still managed to lower the amount of salts and residues to a "decent" level (around 850 to 1500 ppm). I also used flawless finish so I suppose than even when I didn't use enough water that solution alone was enough to help! Besides that the rest of the week was quite calm and relaxing. I gave the Blue Cheese a trim on 5th december and gave her four days of darkness, the chop was performed on december 9th I took a lot of photographs and videos commemorating these events for you to enjoy :) I think she came out quite decent especially considering that she had some monster/deformed leaves till the 4th week of veg. also looking back I should have moved her to the bigger place in that time...she would be far more symmetrical ;) It was a joy to work with Mars Hydro and their equipment in this grow. Another week for this SOG of Auto's from our friends fastbuds, at the moment they are doing great, i do notice that some genetics required less food than others (they all got the same amount but some showed signs of N toxicity last weeks) At the moment we noticed the stretch and we needed to put the lamp higher, we are growing with a TS1000 at the moment and things are looking good 😊
