Week 1 - 01/01 to 01/08 2021 HUGE THANKS TO @MARSHYDROLED and @VIPARSPECTRALED! New surge protectors/heavy duty timers/the good cords. The Red Poison by @Sweet_Seeds is right on track with the Dark Devil and Purple Lemonade from my other diaries. The LSD is a little behind but the genetics seems to keep it small if you get the wrong pheno. Will give it a week or so for it to really settle in with a root base before cleaning out my 5gal RootPouch pots from the last grow and getting them transferred into their final homes. I have all my seedlings under the P1500 from Vipar as my veg light for the first few weeks to a month. It's SO nice to not have a blurple anymore, the light is way better in my room and on the eyes. The new diodes had every single seedling grow more in 6 hours than it did in the first 7 days under the blurp LED. The Red Poison perked right up and threw another set of leaves in the first 6 hours under the new light just like the Dark Devil and Purple Lemonade. I noticed a bit of spotting on the Dark Devil in my other diary so I added some Hydrogen Peroxide to the spray bottle and it cleared up. All four have been getting constant spritzing from the spray bottle to keep humidity up. Excited to see how big i can get the autos under the new lights, will switch over from the Vipar to the Mars by end of week 2/mid week 3 once I transfer them and give them a day or so settle in. Day 70-77 (Day 71) Not exactly sure why but node spacing on bbb 6&7 is super tight still. Their stems are also harder and less bendy, almost like they’re root bound. Bbb #5 in my veg tent is looking bizarre and I’m at a loss for what to do. I’ve been looking up and asking around about the leaf crinkle and no one seems to know what’s wrong. Trashing a pheno of this would hurt. It could be a keeper too as I don’t think the problem is genetic. It’s definitely root bound but that doesn’t cause contorted new growth like that. I’ve concluded that it’s my dense soil coupled with root bound issues, overwatering and high RH. (Day 72) Later tonight I’m going to give bbb 5 a bath tub flush until it’s reading 200ppms, drain it well and then transplant into a 3g pot with lightly amended soil. I’m also going to give it a light defoliation. I don’t mind stressing the shit out of this plant right now because I won’t be flipping for another week at least. With the small container it will run out of amended nutes mid flower so I will hit it with a few synthetic feedings around then to test out the smokabilty and taste compared to organic nutrients. I might as well give the rest a good defoliation on the rest of the plants too. I will try to get most of what is under the trellis. (Day 73) I definitely defoliated #7 waaay too much. Since it’s tucked away in the corner and a really bushy plant I can’t train it as well as the others. I cut most of the sucker branches and the majority of the lower fans. This should prevent the need to defoliate at all until week 3 of flower. (Day 74) I’ve been reading that higher temperatures with a high RH can affect growth big time. It could be what’s causing all the crinkling and twisting. And now that the plants are in very late veg they could probably benefit from a lower RH. When I was running my temps around 74-78F and 70% RH I was in the perfect range. Now that I’m around 82-86F with the same 70% RH that could be what’s causing it. Hotter air holds more moisture than cooler air and proper vpd at 84F is around 75-80%. I’m going to turn up the speed on my carbon filter and set my controller to 75%. If I don’t see a difference or it gets worse I will drop to 65 and go from there. (Day 76) I finally got the lights raised up another 4 inches or so. It’s not much but it should help reduce the intensity and stretch the nodes more. I’m starting to think the super tight node spacing and droopy/contorted growth has more to do with something I’ve been reading about called ‘soil compaction’. Apparently farmers often deal with compacted soil in fields from running tractors over it all day. When I potted the plants I gave them a good little jiggle to compact the soil down further so I could fit a bit more in the container. I think this could be the culprit as they don’t seem to be drying out evenly. Even the plants in my other room are not drying out like they should and it’s probably from compacting too. With the addition of rock dust and dry amendments the soil can become sandy/clay like and retain a lot more moisture. Wish I would have added a few more liters of perlite and packed the soil a bit looser. Either way I need to get this problem sorted ASAP before I get root rot. Earlier in the season when I overwatered, I stuck a fish tank air pump into the soil and it aerated the soil enough to prevent overwatering. The only reason I discontinued it is because it didn’t have much effect in the 1.7g pots. I just ordered a 36w 6 way fish tank pump that is way more powerful. It was 50 bucks and I’m willing to take a gamble on it. It seems to be my only option at the moment because I can’t just repot. Worst case scenario I can use it for brewing compost teas if it doesn’t work. I’m not sure how well this will work in a giant fabric pot but it’s worth a shot. I’ve heard of people supplementing additional air into raised garden beds with great results. I’m picking off some of the new auxiliary branches to try and widen the node spacing. Growth is definitely slow and stunted but no signs of deficiencies. I just thought of another theory on the node spacing... and the more I think about it, the more I think it’s the mystery problem. I’ve been foliar spraying with 1-1-1 VeloKelp at pretty high concentrations 2-3 times per week. I have heard in passing that kelp and seaweed can somehow reduce stretch. A quick google search reveals that Ascophyllum Nodosum Seaweed and other marine algae extracts contain large amounts of hormones and auxins that reduce plant height and stretch. *facepalm* Guess I’ll stop that for the rest of the cycle. As far as I know there is nothing I can really do but wait for the plant to use up all those excess hormones and nutes. The recent 0-0-15 seaweed extract and 1-0-3 kelp meal I bought is derived from the same kind as the velokelp. I guess I won’t use it again until week 3 or 4 in flower. Tight nodes are very useful in flower but aren’t desirable at all in when trying to scrog in veg. Especially when they’re like a half inch apart. It slows the shit out of a grow. Vietnamese and biker gangs in my area used to grow SOG style and use a synthetic PGR hormone (meant for bonsai trees) called ‘paclobutrazol’ that would make the weed rock hard dense so they wouldn’t have to pay people as much to trim it. I’ve heard that in recent years they have made the switch to using kelp extracts because paclo is getting harder find and is not meant for food crops let alone smokeable crops. I’m ashamed of it but I have smoked pounds of PGR weed long before I knew what a PGR was. 🤷‍♂️ (Day 77) One more theory. Ever since raising up the plants up onto that shelf the root zone is probably significantly warmer and the bottom of the pot (where most of the roots are) drys out way quicker. It’s possible that the warmer root zone could not be holding dissolved oxygen at the proper rate resulting in that over/underwatered look. Or it could be that I’m not watering enough at once to reach the bottom of the pot where the roots are and it’s indeed under watered. I’m going to water in a gallon when I get my new air pump and see if that makes any positive change. If I see the new air pump making a difference, I will flip on the 21st of April. If I don’t see a difference, I will carefully untangle the plants from the scrog net and remove the shelf. That extra foot should make a massive difference with ppfd and will cool down the roots significantly too. I’m thinking about grabbing a simple soil/compost thermometer to check the temp of the medium. Better safe than sorry. Rough week. Hopefully everything get smoothed out in the next little while before I flip.

Started the week out top dressing the plant with 1tbs of 4-4-4 and 2tbs of 2-8-4 and watered with 6oz to set soil. The next day I fed the soil with 2ml of Microbial Mass in 1L of water, and started low stress training the first node. Watering when dry and adjusting LST ties daily on first and second node. Plant is starting to flower on day 25! Looking good so far 😁

This was a beautiful week. Massive THC production my trichromes are covering the white widow plant in crystals. Its an icy plant with its sunscreen on. Looking absolutely gorgeous. I finished defoliation. Removed most all of the fan leaves so the plants can focus on bud production and amp up those clusters. The blueberry plant is starting to fruit up as well. It will end up going an extra week so its production is right on point. The white widow plant is just some crazy good genetics. Of my 7 new nursery plants the two white widows that I have are head and shoulders above the rest of the plants. I am excited to see what the 12/12 from seed does for them with our new super soil setup. The plants have received their full doses of flower food and flower finisher. They are going to ride out the week on just water because they started to burn with the influx of the flower finisher. It seems to absorb more potently than the regular flower food does. I will does the plants some of the flower finisher food about halfway through the next week so as not to burn the plants. After that we will flush the soil with just water for the remainder of the grow so as not to have any extra nutrients flooding the plant before harvest.

***New Addition*** Day 82 - Big tank change out. Had a massive drop in pH while EC rose some again (Only been adding RO water the last few days to keep tank in check around EC1.2-1.3, had jumped to 1.6. PH Drop was from 5.9-6 to 4.9-5.0 from it being stable for 4-5 days). After epsom salting the leaves last week, still noticing some lower leaves "Praying" and some dead and drying ones hanging from the plant. Its getting to about the mid-way point of the plant now (again, all that's under the scrog but...) but getting too close for comfort!!! Have edited my formula slightly for this change out to: *2ml/L Bloom A & B (So 100ml of each in a 50L tank) *1ml/L Silicon *0.6g/L Epsom Salts *1ml/L 9/18 PK Warrior (This was a f**k up, should have been 0.5ml/L - hopefully doesn't impact or isn't the cause for Mg issues - causing a lockout) 2ml/L Sumo Active Boost 2ml/L Fulvic Acid 2ml/L Sensizym 2ml pH Down to bring the lot to pH 5.7-5.8 This brought me to about 1.6EC, pH6.4 (Expected value was 1.521 from Hydrobuddy Calc for the * ingredients - My water bases at 0.2EC so a close enough calc!!!) - Higher than I have been putting in but i think most of the EC rise is from the Sulfate in the Epsom Salts (The Sulfur alone is about 0.32EC). Also, with it coming late autumn and the tent in an outdoor cabin, got a temp controller to bring on a heater to stop the temp dropping below 16.5C...its now averaging out around 18.7 during the night so that's decent enough (Was potentially getting sub 15C - recent day temps have been 9-11C so could have been pretty chilly in there!!!). Also put my aquarium heater in the tank to bring the solution to around 19C as 1 of the plants has grew an absolute root mass into the tank itself - It is defying the Smart Pots and getting itself into there even after a pruning a few weeks back!!! So, tank change happened a few days early but what the hey...passed the time with a hot whiskey or 5!!! :P ******************************************** Day 78 - Really haven't done anything with the girls the last week. Just been topping up with pH adjusted water, bringing down the nute strength a bit as they're taking on water but not really taking on any nutes. General monitoring. Think I am going to have to get a heater out in the cabin as the night (IRL Day temps) are getting 15C and below so worried that could be impacting some nute uptake - Gave them an epsom foliar last night and then the bi-weekly Geisha foliar spray just before lights out this morning. Apart from that, nothing new. Happy growing all.

At this point I’m gonna let the plants tell me when they’re ready. Everything is going well at the most I’m taking them down at week 9 of flower. Did their last defoliation and changed the climate a lil to push some last trichomes but things are coming along

08.10.12 Day73 Day25 since 12/12 Her buds are beginning to fatten up. Two days ago I added water to reservoirs as she needed topping up. She drank 10 liter in about 5 and half days. Today I did a fresh reservoir change out and added 16 liters of water. We will see how long it last this time. I think in my next grow of photoperiod plant I will use trellis net as I it is becoming a pain to constantly tie down branches with training wire.

Are just in day 5 and two of them seems to enjoy. Ph 5.8 Ppm 720 Ec 1340 **** First time growing, and first time with dwc. I chose to build my own dwc tank! First week was alright, I think I put the seed to early in coco coir and then into leca in dwc tank. Tap water is around 200 ppm and 7.6ph, I boil the water because of kalk. First 2-3 days I was starting with 7.2 - 6.6 ph and 520 - 640 ppm D. 4-5 640-790 ppm 5.8-.5.6 adding more terra Aquatica D. 5-7 790-980 ppm 5.6-6.2 ph 23c tent 19c w.

Still battling humidity although I think I have finally came up with a solution that allows my co2 too flourish as well. I connected my outlet carbon fan to my humidity control and changed my settings to the green ban of my vpd chart. I’ll keep you guys in the loop on that.

●Well unfortunately the ballast blew on my light so I'm harvesting 6 days or so sooner than I had wanted. Will be giving a 6 or 7 day hang dry. I will post weights and flavors once dried and cured. As of now Big Bud has a strong bubblegum aroma. I'm very excited to give her a taste!

July 30, - Last week of Veg from the look of the plant, its heading into flower - plant has had its 1st meal w/ Veg nutes reduced, 2nd meal w/ Bloom nutes introduced. - Next meal posted above. 31st, - branch-bending and some fresh compost on the plant base. (= tv dinner for a couple weeks) Aug 1 - started the day with some LST and the top of this plant is now pretty darn wide and level. Yesterdays bending was well timed. After only 2 LST sessions on the Canopy, its a different more receptive plant heading into Flower - last transition meal fed; 3 gallons. Next meal, its bloom nutes from here on out Aug 2nd - when gentle-bending becomes kinky… the plant looked great after the LST. This morning I saw a great opportunity and it involved More aggressive tactics and saw some more aggressive kinking & super-cropping. - plant had a nice “South-facing” slope. Aug 3 - woke up to a beautiful plant, with a legitimate level canopy. Bring on the Blossoms, Jack is down to 38” again Got rid of the last Sucker in the grow. No touch now lol, what you see is what you get Aug 4 - next meal posted above… - clipped the lower suckers on ea Cola branch to help keep the business on the end

Update; February 14th, 2023. From the moment I flipped to flower, they’ve been exploding with growth! They are super healthy! They grow back and fill in so fast after defoliating, no matter how heavy I go. I’ve added the supplemental lighting (Viparspectra 600) this week to really get the most I can. Figuring out a way to mount it higher.

It was such a nice experience for me with this strain, first time ever growing her, she had a little bit of long internodes and thought she wasn't gonna be very productive, however the nuggets are so so hard and compact and the quality is just brutal, doesn't even look like she's s been outdoor grown, I love this strain for the rare strong smell like very sweet and floral with that strange diesel notes mix the sweet tones, I would love be growing her my whole life, I definitely will keep growing this lady FOR SURE!. thank you so much and hope you guys enjoy! 💎🙏🔝💚
