Hey Grow Diaries fam,
Welcome back to another update on our PCR adventure! We're at Week 9, which marks Week 4 of the flowering stage, and things are getting exciting!
Overview
The PCRs are flourishing, and the transformation is nothing short of spectacular. The tent is buzzing with energy, and every day brings new developments. The buds are swelling beautifully, and the trichome production is off the charts. This week has been all about maintaining optimal conditions and ensuring our ladies get everything they need to reach their full potential.
Environment and Conditions
Tent: 3x3, cleaned and prepped from top to bottom to ensure a pristine environment.
Lighting: ViparSpectra P2000, delivering a perfect spectrum for this stage of growth. The balanced PAR output and efficient energy use keep our girls happy and thriving.
Watering: TDS at 410, pH 5.8, and water temperature at 21°C. This ensures the nutrients are perfectly balanced and readily available.
Nutrient Regimen
We’ve kept up with our Aptus Holland feeding schedule, and it's paying off big time. Here's the current mix:
Nutritional Spray: Aptus Holland NutriSpray to keep those leaves lush and healthy.
TopBooster: Replaced StartBooster with TopBooster to promote flower development.
P-Boost: Added to the mix for that extra phosphorus kick, crucial for blooming.
K-Boost: a must for them to go fat as we like.
The results speak for themselves – lush green foliage and robust bud formation.
Defoliation
At the end of this week, we performed a mass defoliation. It's always a bit nerve-wracking, but the results are worth it. Removing excess leaves ensures better light penetration and airflow, reducing the risk of mold and pests. Plus, it allows the plant to focus its energy on bud production. And let me tell you, after the defoliation, the PCRs look sexy as ever with their long legs and sculpted structure!
Clones Update
Our clones are thriving, showing the longest and whitest roots I've ever seen. We treated them with a water mix that included K-Boost and Mycor Mix at 1 gram per liter. This combination has worked wonders, promoting vigorous root development and overall plant health.
Reflections
This week has been a testament to the importance of a clean environment and precise nutrient management. The PCRs are responding exceptionally well, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with their progress. We're well on our way to an incredible harvest, and I can't wait to see these beauties in full bloom.

I let the girls spend the whole week getting used to their new home and recover from their transplant shock before I began Low Stress Training (LST).
Everything looks great in my opinion. A little on the smaller side for being so far along but I think they will burst in growth in the coming weeks. Don't forget that they will double in size during the initial flowering period.
I plucked a few leaves off and tied down 2-4 branches on each plant and will continue to tie down more throughout this week. I want to keep a nice even canopy from here on out.
Depending on how fast these ladies grow, I think I will be able to start super cropping soon. I'd like to get my SCROG net up so that I can start weaving branches as they continue to stretch.
This is the key to getting a good yield when working with a small area such as a 5x5 tent. I expect anywhere from 28-36oz which is around 2lbs. Of course good lighting, nutrients, and good genes go a long way but sometimes you just need that extra boost to get you there and these techniques are what has worked for me (LST, SCROG, Super Cropping).
The only thing I think I am lacking is Co2. I have read that I could increase my yield by up to 40%. That's incredible! I'm going to have to do some research on pricing and see what I can work out.

Week 4 flower : everything’s looking nice still got the lights about 7-9” from top of canopy without any issues . The humidity has gone up to 50% in day and I can’t really get it any lower I’ve already got a dehumidifier so don’t want to get another one . I would like to lower to 40-45% and lower for last 2 weeks but can’t see that happening .
I’ve started the pk from end of week 4 (day 28 )at 1ml per litre this took my ec to 2.2 I will see how it goes and maybe up it to 1.2-1.5 and I’m going to use the pk for 7-14 days then I will start the flush
I also lowered the silicone to 0.5ml per litre

Grow Report Week 14: The Final Phase of Flowering is Approaching
Hello dear grow friends,
We’re starting a new week, and I’m pleased to report that everything is going well. Although the rear area of the grow is not yielding as lush results as the front, I am overall very satisfied, especially with the scents.
Scent and Resin
All plants really smell excellent and are well-resined, which indicates a good effect. I expect that the plants will need about 2-3 more weeks to mature.
Expectations and Hopes
I hope that especially the plants in the rear area will catch up a bit. The next few weeks will show how the buds will develop in their fullness and potency.
I look forward to sharing the progress with you and am curious to see what the coming time will bring. Until the next update!

I am now flushing her with plain Brita filtered water PH'd with lime juice to lower her PH.
I initially first flushed her with 42L of water and now I am flushing her once a day for 8 days and then I will put her in for darkness for 3 days and then I will harvest her and dry her for 9 days and then cure her for 28-48 days.

- The growth process continues unabated. I am waiting for the desired size. 8 days after flowering it didn't grow as much as I thought it would, so we went back to the growing season. 👽

- I decided not to cut the leaves anymore after much defoliation. It easily tolerates strong stress easy to grow.

Bruce Banner #3 Fast is bulking. I believe I did something wrong somewhere in flowering. Seems like she should of produced a little better. I am not a master in dwc by any means. I am at a loss with HSO blue fire. First of all the germination rate was poor and now my only blue fire plant has gone Herme. I removed her from the tent and put her in the corner of the room under a separate light which is going to cost me more money in the long run. I should probably just get rid of her but I don’t have the heart to. I’m not the only grower that has had this problem with blue fire. Very disappointed

Into week 4 and they have blew up on me again. #2 still lagging behind but showing new growth at a decent pace. I think she will be the black sheep of this grow.
So far I have performed another round of topping and very lite defoliation. (Can i get more aggressive anything under the main canopy?
Watered them in with dechlorinated 6.8pH tap water. I think I may have to think about when to start top dressing them. Maybe 2 more weeks? Lol
Also noted that I they are starting to suck up allot of water! May have to start wetting out the whole pot now and see how they respond. So far its a garentee to water them ever 3-4 days. Now getting much closer to 3.
Hope you guys enjoy the video commentary and photos. I'm a bit lazy and maybe one day put a little more effort to taking better photos with my phone.

Flowering looks awesome on the ChemDog! Lots of bud sites and they're growing at a respectable rate. ATF's are running 3 plants in 3 diff stages- one's a couple weeks into flower, one's just starting,and one's still the holdout. Meanwhile, I've got flowering on the Night Nurse and one of the Viper Cookies. The rest are close but I can't say for sure they've transitioned. Weather's getting into a hot and humid phase, gotta watch that ChemDog. Think it's got a decent structure for ventilation but I've read horror stories on how the Dog loves mold. Further training of the branches has been fruitful, I'm seeing a lot more topside bud sites than usual. I'm working on irrigation-- I set up a 30 gal container and it works for drip, but without a pipe system it's still one at a time, although I have to admit it's worth it to save my back. Plus, I have to have a supply ready for use in case my buddy needs to fill in for me and water the ladies.
Been checking the cameras regularly ( I have them all throughout the property, game cameras with IR flash), and to date haven't seen anything that would constitute a threat. Just some curious raccoons and one really ugly opossum. Even the skunks don't bother them this year, which is nice but a little strange considering they dig in them every year. It's really just the animals I'm watching for, people aren't as much of a concern. Mostly because I don't know any. Aside from that, I sleep with my head feet away from my babies, so somebody would have to have big brass ones to even try. Yes, I know, a little overprotective.
Fingers crossed it'll be one hell of a harvest (by my standards).
8/11 Update:
Been lucky still with the weather, but it's turning really humid. Fed the girls this morning, a mix of 1C molasses and 1/2C epsom salt in 20 gallons. Just a little supplement to the tiger bloom they've been feasting on. Speaking of the Tiger Bloom, I can't help but think I'd do just as well mixing my own nutrient solution, since the cost really adds up quick. For his year, however, it'll be fine. My watering gizmo is working well, just leaks a tiny bit and that's fine for the remainder of the year. Now that I have an idea of what works for me I can spend the off-season setting up something right.
Had to thin out the Lamb's a bit, it wasn't getting anywhere near enough air flow. Also took a few on the ChemDog as I'm expecting mold/rot conditions for a while and she's prone. Shouldn't have much problem, wind blows almost constantly here, but you can never be too careful. Training is taking well, overall they look pretty good. Next year-- bigger grow bags, better soil, and much pickier seed choices. I think I may even abandon the idea of topping them in the future-- it just slows them down and you can get the same end results with training. Granted, my ladies are kinda sparse and ugly, but that's the learning curve. Next time around I think I have a pretty good idea of what to do and when to do it, based on what worked and didn't work this year. Another big thing is nutrient timing-- I def jumped the gun on flower power for a few of them and it just stunted them wicked-- shoulda continued veg food a couple weeks into flower even for the early bloomer, she'd be a monster.

West Coast OG looks huge, what i can't say about Californian Snow, in some moment it buds stopped growing and im not sure about the harverst. what do you think should i give it extra week ?

Hello. This is the end of week 7 and the beginning of week 8 of flowering.
I'm a bit bummed about this grow. I've read that you just need to force a plant to flower, that's 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark for the first 3 weeks (I had a tent inside the greenhouse) and then put it outside and it will continue to flower. I thought that was amazing, so I wanted to give it a try. Well, here we are at the end of the 7th week and it looks like the plants are going back into veg. Last year I didn't do up the tent for the last 2 weeks and everything was fine so I thought I would give this keeping it open after the 3rd week a try. Now I know. I can always turn it into hash, maybe dry ice hash.
Here's another reason I'm bummed about this grow. I've got spider mites. I'm doing my best to knock them down with my hypochlorous acid. I'm spraying twice a week, but had some yellowish looking leaves, I reread the article (I put up a pic of it a few of weeks ago) and found I had to rinse the indoor plants. So after I sprayed the 1/2 strength acid I waited 10 minutes and rinsed with water. Today I can see more mites than when I sprayed before. So next time I'll wait till the 1/2 acid mix is dry before I rinse the leaves and see if that knocks them down more.
If you don't try new things you don't learn. That's what this grow is about, to see if the plants can still keep flowering at my latitude and now that I have mites, to see if the hypochlorous acid will work without killing the plants. Yes, I'm 60 something and still learning. 😃
