Day 63 Flower (Day 105) I'm back! Iceland was breathtakingly beautiful as usual, and I even managed to see an active volcano. Amazing! I have good news and bad news regarding my girls. The good news is that they are both still alive and are overall looking pretty good. The bad news for the left girl is that the cheap irrigation system failed and only watered around 1 liter of water during the entire week. She was extremely thirsty, although still looking pretty good without any drooping. A couple of her leaves turned purple from the stress, though. I recorded a video just as I opened the tent for the first time after coming back a couple of hours ago. The news is worse for the right girl, though. The irrigation system worked flawlessly, so that wasn't the problem. Instead, I detected bud rot in three buds, and of course, it was in the three most significant colas. Fuuuuuuuu... I also shot a video as I opened the tent, and the affected buds are visible if you are paying attention. I have never had bud rot before, so I will need to do additional research on what to do next. I immediately cut off the affected buds and disposed of them outside. I hope I got all the affected areas, but I will inspect all the buds more closely tomorrow. Been traveling most of the day today and need some rest before scouting her buds. I looked at her trichomes quickly and still couldn't see much amber, but I will have a better look tomorrow. The worms have been busy while gone, though, and they were crawling all over when I lifted the old avocados. They aren't the only ones who have been busy as the fungus gnats are back, Sigh. Only a few so far, but yeah, another thing to sort out. The fun just never ends...

This is the sister diary of the Runtz showdown, in which we pit two great performing strains created by two highly acclaimed and respected breeders, in a duel to the death. This diary features the RUNTZ XL AUTO strain by SweetSeeds. In the meantime, all seeds have germinated and seemed to have a level start. Also here we loaded the grow with our magical intentions as we sowed on Imbolc, the celebration day of the Goddess of spring: Bridget. We cant wait to see where this will lead us. Both strains will have the exact same conditions, lighting, care and nutrition. The Lights Also here we use our trusty Mars Hydro SP-3000, where we are trying to get over 600 grams (2x gram per watt) we succeeded almost on the previous grow, where we got to 1.5 grams per watt. We are starting in the regulars when these strains have only 4 to 5 weeks left to go, to double up on the 18hr light schedule. The Black Devil's OG is trucking along without issue, while the Northern light is a tad on the droopy side at night and is likely expecting earlier night hours. I will likely adjust my light schedule to reduce the stress. The videos posted came out pretty well, considering they came out of a cell phone camera. 400x ends up being really blurry as the phone can't focus properly to compensate, but you can still see all the bacteria dancing around. Some nematodes and ciliates there too.

Week 17 Day 113 (04/12/2020)💧: Nice start to the week with a watering. Just as last week, I will be giving her the increased nutrients until the flush. So today I gave her 1.5ml of BioGrow, 6ml of BioBloom, and 6ml of TopMax. Day 114 (05/12/2020): The trichomes were looking beautiful today! You can see in the pictures that some are getting more amber now which is a great sign as I thought this girl was going to develop them later than the others in the tent. But it looks like she will ripen right on schedule, at the same time as the others. Day 115 (06/12/2020): Took a quick pic of the tent but didn’t have much time to check the girls properly. I’m sure they are great as always 👌 Day 116 (07/12/2020)💧: I watered the girl today with the same nutrients: 1.5ml of BioGrow, 6ml of BioBloom, and 6ml of TopMax. The buds on this girl are looking super dense! I hope that this 6ml of TopMax will fatten them up even more in the next few weeks before harvest 😄 Day 117 (08/12/2020): Didn’t have time to take pictures today actually Day 118 (09/12/2020): At first this girl was smelling the least out of all the others but now it is actually getting a much stronger earthy smell which I am loving! This one is definitely a couch-lock girl 🛀 Day 119 (10/12/2020)💧: Watered the girl today with the same nutrients as last time giving her 1.5ml of BioGrow, 6ml of BioBloom, and 6ml of TopMax. I took some videos and close-up pictures and she looks incredible! Also looking from the trichomes, I noticed some more amber ones so I am thinking to even start the 2 weeks flush from next watering onwards and prepare for harvest! Will assess the trichomes in a few days and decide.

This batch of seedsman was a disappointment in general. first all the 10 sweet mango didn't germinate, then from all freebies all I got is a stunted plant (this one) and a NL that's going great. Lesson learned, will cultivate more "mainstream" strains as they seem to be fresher and easier to grow. Back to this one, hope at least the smoke is good, as I always loved amnesia. Wondering about the outcome if she didn't stressed, as the smell, the trichomes, all looks very nice. Waiting for it to finish drying and cure a little before do the smoke report.

And the first week of flower is amongst us, I’m not sure if it’s the fast bud genetics, the living soil, or a mixture of both, but I think the videos say it all, the deep green throughout, day 41 and just look😍. Everything’s been sitting nicely 24/7 Humidity 49~56%, temps 23~26c This week they all received there last top feed, along with a slight bit of defoliation, some massive fan leaves! slightly over watered as you will notice in one of the videos, but I won’t be surprised if they’ve grew another few inches over night.

Week 7 of flower. Started with 1 plant showing burnt tips, now it's spreading. Suspected K lockout from pH spike (hit 7.0). Adjusted watering, runoff now 6.2–6.5, feeding only water + EM. Still worsening. Any ideas?

She looks super beautiful and healthy in her first week in this crazy world, she's a strong girl, she's developing not only correctly but very fast too under my HortiONE LED lighting. I'm using 2 panels of 190w each. Hope to train this lady and make such a beautiful bush using training techniques, we have a beautiful journey coming up guys! I'm growing my ladies reusing my soil and it's completely amended and full of microorganisms and life again using Organic living soil FLO By florians living organics, contains everything the plants needs at every single phase.
