Week 5 Veg Report: Croco Mutants A Quick Recap: The journey with my Terpyz Mutant Mentha de Croco girls has been a ride full of unique beauty and challenges. Here’s a quick look back at our progress: Week 1 (Germination): Using TheCannaKan, the seeds sprouted quickly in a controlled environment. They were then moved to Root Riots with nutrients from Aptus Holland, setting the stage for healthy development. Week 2: The first set of funky leaves began to emerge, showcasing the distinct and peculiar traits that make these mutants so special. Feeding started with Aptus Regulator, Startbooster, CalMag Boost, and All-in-One Liquid—a well-rounded blend to support their growth. Week 3: These funky beauties continued to amaze, displaying different leaf structures and growth patterns. The environment remained stable, and photos with my Nikon and Sony cameras captured their vibrant essence. Week 4: A dip in temperatures brought on slower growth, but the girls adapted well. Organic Aptus All-in-One Pellets were introduced into the soil mix for consistent nutrition, while bottom watering started to combat gnats. Week 5: Slow Growth, Unique Beauty This week has been all about patience, observation, and admiration. The mutants are growing at their own pace, but each plant’s unique beauty and dark green vibrance make it worth the wait. Environmental Update: Temperature: The cold has settled in further, with daytime temps at 18°C and nighttime dropping to 14°C. While slower growth is expected in these conditions, the plants are adapting and maintaining their health. Humidity: RH remains stable at 65%, providing just enough moisture to support their development without creating excess stress. Feeding & Watering: The same Aptus Holland nutrient solution is being used this week: Regulator (0.15 ml/L): Strengthens cell walls, helping the plants adapt to colder conditions and maintain their vigor. CalMag Boost (0.25 ml/L): Supplies essential calcium and magnesium for strong, healthy foliage. Startbooster (0.25 ml/L): Encourages root development and early-stage robustness. All-in-One Pellets : A complete nutrient solution providing the base nutrition these girls need already in the soil. Additionally, I’m continuing with bottom watering, where the trays are filled to let the soil absorb water passively. This has been effective in keeping gnats at bay, especially when combined with yellow sticky traps. Bottom watering also encourages the roots to grow downward, seeking moisture and building a stronger foundation. Growth Observations: Each plant remains a unique masterpiece: Leaves: The diversity of shapes, sizes, and structures is remarkable. From jagged edges to rounded tips, every plant tells its own story. Color: The deep, dark green is a testament to their health and the effectiveness of the Aptus feeding regimen. Despite slower growth, they’re thriving in their own way. Cloning or Flipping to 12/12: I’ve been debating whether to: Flip to 12/12 for a week to induce pre-flowering and identify males and females, or Take clones when they’re large enough and flip the clones instead. Each approach has its benefits: Flipping the plants: Speeds up the process of sex identification but temporarily halts vegetative growth. Cloning and flipping the clones: Preserves the original plants in veg while testing the clones for sex. This method is more time-consuming but allows the mother plants to continue growing. I’m leaning toward cloning when the plants reach the right size, as it seems the most practical for maintaining momentum with these unique mutants. Photography Update: This week, I brought out my Nikon and Sony cameras again, using different lenses to capture the intricate details of the plants. From close-ups of water droplets creating reflections to stunning macros of leaf textures, the results truly showcase their beauty. Why Use a Camera Over a Phone? Lens Flexibility: With interchangeable lenses, I can adjust for macro shots, wide angles, or depth of field, something even the best phone cameras can’t fully replicate. Detail and Clarity: DSLR and mirrorless cameras capture a higher dynamic range and more intricate details, elevating the visual storytelling. NOTE: THE COUNTING OF DAYS STARTS FROM THE DAY THE SEED STARTS ITS PROCESS, IN THIS GROW DAY 1 WAS THE MOMENT THE SEED GOT INSERTED INTO THE EASY START (i do not recomend this method for experienced growers, but higly recomend it to unexperienced growers that might accidentally damage their seedling's new root as they move them from the germination zone into their next or final pot, with easy start you can just pick up the small cube of soil and place it inside the next pot GENTLY). expanded the pot patch to include some companion planting and cover crop this year. Added 2 yards of grow max composted soil mix from the local garden centre. now 18" deep and I will be adding some leaf mould, myco and a super microbe tea to kickstart things. ************UPDATE************* due to the shit weather in Canada this year I have decided to NOT plant an outdoor crop this year, due to late season start and big el nino which means lower than norm temps and lots of rain for us which = issues growing.

The harvest was a bit improvised. I pre-dried them outside under a sun screen (not choped yet) for 3 days at 30°C and 45% humidity. Then chopped only the buds and dried indoors for another 4d at 25°C and 62% humidity. Not ideal, they probably lost some terpenes. But no other way to do it at the time. Now they are curing at a stable 62% humidity. The grassy smell slowly disappears. Still, the aroma is not great. When I press the buds a mix of lime and pine is released but the ouside smells just like old, overdried herbs. It's my first time curing. So I dont know what to expect or if it will get better? Let's see. Dry bud weight was 75g. We are only legally allowed 50g dry so I had to destroy a bit. Buds are medium sticky and slightly airy but good overall. The strain was low maintenance and grew quite large. Only had to cut a couple spots (1x mildew, 1x bud rot). However, it was not purple as advertised. Checking back with Dutch Pasion, they are not aware of a non-purple pheno. I compared with pictures from its parents and it looks a lot like the Forbidden Fruit. I assume it got most of their genetics.

I think the star of our diary will be the Pineapple Express, she took the toping like nothing happened and already looking great and she already has a week smell, The other girls are doing great, and the white runtz have some mesmerising colour to her leaves the kind from a shroom trip

I've been defoliating slowly trying to keep them small due to a house inspection coming up. Once that's out the way I'll put them in bigger pots then switch to flower. They all outgrew the mutated start and are looking good.

Time for the stretch! Lots of flowering growth happening now. I can see where the bud spots will be so I’m going to have to stop moving the branching around in the Scrog, also the branches are getting thick and less pliable.

H2O Algas Enzimas

Hi growers, Another week has passed, and both phenotypes continue to develop in their own way. One plant is now entering the final stage, and harvest is getting closer. The aroma has developed beautifully, with lovely nutty notes and a subtle sweetness. Under normal circumstances, I would already be harvesting it, but I'm waiting for the seeds from the Ridgelion father to fully mature. The Haze phenotype, on the other hand, is really starting to bulk up, and it is becoming more noticeable every day. The buds are swelling nicely, and it is clear this plant still has plenty left to give. I am really looking forward to seeing how it develops over the next week. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Další týden je za námi a oba fenotypy se dál vyvíjejí každý úplně po svém. Jedna rostlina už jde do finále a sklizeň se nezadržitelně blíží. Vůně se krásně rozvinula a připomíná oříšky s jemnou sladkostí. Za normálních okolností bych ji už sklízel, ale čekám, až semínka po otci Ridgelion plně dozrají. Haze fenotyp naopak začíná pořádně nabírat na objemu a každým dnem je to znát víc a víc. Palice krásně tloustnou a je vidět, že tahle rostlina má před sebou ještě kus práce. Jsem opravdu zvědavý, jak bude vypadat za další týden. Peace and happy growing ✌️

So this week the little gelatocake is on week 8 and is really starting to eat herself now, full of trichomes and smells like tutti fruity chewie sweets. Last week of nutes for her then mollases only. Week 7 for the othere gelatocake and shes starting to fatten up now as well as fade also. Babys have got big since re potting I will.bend them over later. Sherbert mimosa are still taking there time I think they are starting to get bigger 🤔🤣 I Will keep you updated lol. Happy growing guys 👌💪💚
