Welcome to my Fast Buds sponsored shootout and living organic soil v coco side by side. I also plan to use this grow to my full advantage regarding a few age old nagging questions about methods. I have had a keen interest in L.O.S ( supersoil) since reading a few threads a while back on how amazing and productive it can be. After too much research and procrastinating I had to give it a go. I have been a decades coco/nft grower and recently threw my hat in the rdwc ring too. I have avoided soil due to the overwatering worry ( heavy handed chimp brain !) and the best potting soil/feeds. Catching up on the advances in indoor soil gardening and organics led me too subcools supersoil recipes to name a few but being a town dweller with farms everywhere around me still drew blanks on a lot of the ingredients needed and where the hell I could even begin to get them from. Thankfully , commercial savvy has now made buying it in ready to use and with a full range of beneficial bacteria ect available in amendments from a grow shop here in the uk. ecothrive have realised the potential for us to dive into this medium with all the mixing , measuring and resourcing. I bit the bullet and £150 later I now have 4 x37Litre pots that will be used for as long as I want to feed the soil for without EVER needing nutrients again potentially. The coco has also had charge mixed in to encourage the bennies to colonize there too. I will be using the shogun nutes that I know do the business with coco to compare with for yield , growth and taste. I have 3 seeds each of 4 Fast Buds Strains to use as a control for the grow and am journaling each strain in their own diaries. This statement will be used to start each one as the information is identical at this point but following this I will do them individually. I am now starting their second week since opening the seed packets , straight into soaked and shook root riot cubes and into the heated propagator. They had all showed their heads by end of day 3 and a couple needed helmet surgery to open up without being hindered . I have has them in the prop for a few days but they needed to get settled as they were popping roots out all over the cubes. They have now been in their final pots for 2 days complete and starting their 3rd today at day 8 since planting in cubes. I am impressed with the speed and success of these girls already (12 of 13 germinated) . Well done fast buds. So here we go folks , any comments , ideas ,questions , advice are always welcome and I hope we can have some fun experimenting with defol v non defol , topping v fimming v bending and any other curiosities along the way. Howdy growfessors! Welcome to week 7F in the 4x8 theatre. The ladies are hungry, I've been increasing their feeding and they still want more! Defoliation performed, removed a lot of small dead or dying leaves from the lower branches. Not much else to say, thanks for stopping by growfessors 👽🌳💚

These ladies are doing their thang! One week since sprout. Had to move them to cups to support the stem as they were flopping. Placed a fan for circulation to try and get some strength in them. First feed at the end of week one. Went with half dose of the 1EC measurement as per Pro Line chart.

The plants are growing beautifully and the first signs of flowering can be seen. Flowering day 10💚

Just taking off any leaves that are yellowing under the canopy. This baby is nice! Super happy that her trichomes are starting to form and she is budding up nicely! A real stunner so far! More sativa so I know she will take a bit longer, but I’m happy! Hope she gets even more greasy!💚💚💚

Everything must go!!! Day 66 can’t imagine the cheese, the gift, and straw to last much longer. Trellis was removed and you can really tell how heavy some colas are damn near uproots some of plants without the support. I needed to save my trellis ;). Anyways Skittlez in dark period ready to be chopped, tropical fuel is on day 3 of drying and looks to be retaining that “fuel” smell ( no woody buds here!) made some awesome canna butter from the trim of white widow. Day 21 - Ladies are looking nice & healthy! Everything seems to be going great, one is still growing a little slow but all in all extremely happy with this grow so far! week intel: everything is perfect! stresses : just a little E.C stress around 1.7 once a week feeding: i feed them 3 times this week with this order : day 1 : i feed them heavy with silicate +base nutrients(calcium & micros + Bloom) about 818 ppm - 1.7 e.c to cause a little stress. day 3 : i feed them low dose of Feeding Booster + Karbo Boost around 382 ppm - 0.7 e.c to let them recover a little but not fully recover still a little stress will caused. day 5 : i feed them with low dose of Top-Max + B-52 around 250 ppm - 0.5 e.c to let them recover the stresses to get ready for another stress next week. guide of the week : know your plant tolerance limit of E.C stress once you saw the very very little yellowing on tips of leaves , that's the sign to don't go further , never reach that limit if you want a high quality buds, in my case tolerance is 1.8 and i'll reach to that level only once a week to cause precision stress , love your plants and have a happy growing!

This is a must grow again . I immediately started 2 more in her place and I am glad I have 3 more that just went into flower

Great week all seemed to recover from transplant and lst! With new growth coming in No more signs of any knats either wich is awesome hopefully thats gone. Trying to keeping main branches at 10inches so i just lst them as needed DDS are way more resilient when it comes to training choco i dint have ti adjust much or many

D80/F29 - 12.4 - All is well except for 1 Black Sugar plant that is showing what I believe is calcium deficiency. Hmm, it’s really only on the older leaves, none of the new growth is affected and the buds are still developing on pace. So I will give some compost tea, along with all the others. Let me know if you have any other ideas please! D83/F32 - 12.7 - Cruizin. treated with some top dress super soil concentrate. Besonderheiten: Sie wird etwas länger im Vorzuchtzelt bleiben da wir das Hauptzelt umbauen und es erst in 2 Wochen wieder bereit haben. -Tag 15 Heute haben wir sie wieder mit Dünger gegossen, sie wächst sehr gut und ist bald zum Toppen bereit. -Tag 18 Heute wurde sie wieder gegossen und wir haben angefangen mit Mineralischen (NPK 10-4-7) zu Düngen. Sie wurde heute auch getoppt und muss sich jetzt erholen. -Tag 20 Sie hat sich gut vom Toppen erholt und die triebe bilden sich gut aus. So this is the time where after week 3 my account required a password change and I couldnt open the email to change it for over a month. Luckily my brother took this and sent it to me. Ignore the crocks lol. But at this time I tried mainlining like before but had two plants tops break off. This was on NOVEMBER 5TH so 30 days from seed. At this time the stalks were so thick already it made it hard to work with. I think its cus the strains were different or the magnets lol not sure. Also I transplanted the one buy the door late. I had to buy more dirt. It was rough then came back. So it breaking and looking rough I slacked on the training. Just keeping it for hopefully an oz.

*01/24 - Week 6 (Week 1 Flower) Her flowering has begun and bud sites are starting to become dense - All Veg nutes have been flushed and swapped for Flower nutes* **01/27 - Week 6 ( Mid Week 1 Flower ) Her bud sites are densing up as she flowers - Nute and clean water feeds remain normal - swapping to 12/12 next week*

Did last defoliation besides maybe some leaf stripping. feeding plants mostly microbes. been feeding very light on the nutes. Havent had any problems with defeciencies.

Day 60F The PM on the cheese has gotten significantly worse in the last few days. I think it may have something to do with the constant humidity spikes every time I water. I haven’t been running my humidifier at all in flower so maybe it’s having trouble keeping the RH up during lights on. Just another reason to follow a daily watering schedule. The cheese and slurricane look fucking disgusting and I’m starting to doubt that a peroxide wash can totally fix it. It worked well for my outdoor crop so it should be fine but this time there is probably 3x the amount. I’ll make sure to really soak the buds and rinse them off good. Bbb#1 is flopping over like crazy from the weight. Too late to stake it up now so hopefully it holds until next week. Starting to foxtail a bit but nothing too bad. It is now 100% done and ready for chop. Bbb#2 is just getting frostier and frostier by the day. The purple fade is really coming along nicely too. Might reveg. It is now 100% done and ready for harvest. Black garlic #1 is finally filling out! I can’t believe it. Never heard of a plant packing weight on like that in week 8. The breeder did mention that it packs on weight later but I’m stunned. Taking her to 9.5 weeks. Black garlic #2 is looking very average. Average color, average size buds, average frost, average smell, probably an average yield. And it’s starting to get a bit of PM. Overall not happy. Will be taking her to 9.5 weeks. Zkittlez #1 has pleasantly surprised me. It was a bushy runt in veg but came through. It’s the third frostiest in the tent, super dense, stacked tight, smells great and looks great. It’s already got a nice amount of amber so it’s 100% ready for chop. Slurricane #4 looks insanely frosty even under all that PM. If I can’t wash it off it’s going in the trash. I want to chop this asap but have to cut everything at once unfortunately. It’s 100% ready for harvest. Badazz OG cheese is looking like a decent yielder but doesn’t have much else going for it. I think it still has some filling out to do. I can’t even smell the final profile change yet. The leaves are rotting off very quickly. Taking her 9.5 weeks. I don’t mind harvesting a bit later rather than early. From my outdoor experience, when a plant is picked early it smells like hay and wet grass clippings until it’s been curing for 3 weeks. When I harvest late or at 30-50% amber trichomes it smells like same scent profile it had when growing. Just my experience. I’ve read that the tobacco industry adds calcium and potassium carbonate to their crops to help promote fire holding capacity and to increase the whiteness of ash. Turns out some of the organic amendments I bought last week contain exactly that. I’m going to give each plant a light top dress to see if the tobacco industry is onto something.
