Not too sure why the blackberry is so small but I think I stressed it out too much with the LST

AUGUST 24 to AUGUST 30, 2024 Sunrise 07:05, sunset 20:50 for total daylight of 13:45 hours. Specimen continues to push upwards, gaining approximately 13cm in height over the past week. Plant is taller than anticipated and planned for, which could present some difficulties as it's getting into the oscillating air circulation fan's wake. Was surprised to see the continued stretch, but there were two days of high heat that may have been the trigger, or, it may have been the result of defoliation and pruning, or it was simply the plant's final push, or a combination of all those factors. It appears to have crowned, or is close to being fully crowned, and as such I undertook a fairly heavy defoliation to improve airflow through the bottom of the plant, and strategically removed leaves in the upper canopy to improve light exposure. Fungus gnats did regain their hold, and so I decided to top dress with Bacillus Thuringiensis Israelensis (delivered via pulverized Mosquito Dunks) in an effort to kill larvae, treated with Soil Pest Defense (Neem Oil, Castile Soap and Yucca Extract) and replaced Bug Scan Yellow Sticky Traps at soil level. Effects were pretty immediate, but I will need to stay on top of this. Would like to cease use of Neem Oil in the soil, so considering acquiring some beneficial nematodes to combat the pest issue. Overall, specimen and its' "neighbours" in the greenhouse are doing well, and filling the room. When accounting for the bench and containers, tops of plants are over 152cm (5ft) from ground level. It is making management a little more challenging, and proving to be more difficult to find good angles to photograph (the space is pretty much filled up). The scent of citrus, skunk and spice emanating from the greenhouse is building, and at times quite strong. Still appears to me to be on-track for ripening the week of October 14, 2024. Day 120 - n/a Day 121 - Drip watered 5.0L of plain rainwater with pH of 6.7 Day 122 - n/a Day 123 - Defoliated specimens, focused on removing leaves from lower parts of the plant to improve airflow (lollipop), pruning hidden or non-producing branches, and strategically removing select upper fan leaves to improve light exposure and airflow. Day 124 - Top dressed with pulverized Mosquito Dunk (1/4 unit per specimen); 1.5L drip watered with plain rainwater in the morning; Hand watered 2.0L of Soil Pest Defense Drench in the afternoon; Hand watered 1.0L of plain rainwater about 30 minutes after soil drench; Replaced Bug Scan Yellow Sticky Traps (1 unit per specimen, cut in half and rested at soil surface on two sides; With defoliation from yesterday, room air flow seems adequate, after increasing speed of lower fans. Day 125 - n/a Day 126 - n/a Next week, planning to feed the rhizosphere with Compost Tea and continue efforts to control fungus gnat population.

Wow well she has jumped up!! A week ago I scraped off a couple of inches of the soil/perlite mix and replaced it with brand new compost. My grows for the last few months have been unimpressive to say the least and I've been trying to figure out the problem. I've had a few theories but the one I've settled on is my soil. I think I need to change it much more often than I have been doing previously.

Week 9 Day 5 now 48h Darkness

Good evening to all growers :D! This week was a bit disappointing when I discovered 1 male plant, immediately moved to a separate box (I'm not a killer)... The two bad girls are showing their sex with pistils that are now visible, the largest is very evident while the other with the paint bucket pot has yet to develop... Odor for now nothing but I still have good intentions from :D!!

Algae is an asshole. Thought things were going really well... and then found a bit of algae in the rockwool.... No biggie I figure. Wrong. Left it one night, and today (Sunday) open the jar to find algae in all the roots. Not cool. Well, I needed to swap the nutrients anyway, and was going to do a major bonsai pruning... so why not also wash everything, plant included, in mild hydrogen peroxide solution? Sure, THAT's fun. Made the decision to swap Hydroguard for H2O2 as well, since the water is room temp (21-22 C) and the H2O2 supposedly helps prevent algae.... and keeps away root rot even in higher solution temperatures. Oh, and H2O2 is also seemingly a buffer... making getting the pH right in that small jar strange - needed WAY more pH down than without the hydrogen peroxide. Fingers crossed that the major life disturbances will help manage the algae and not just put the nails in the coffin.

Non ho avuto particolari problemi nel crescere queste ragazze, l’unica cosa che purtroppo non ho potuto mantenere sotto controllo era la temperatura che nelle ultime settimane era arrivata quasi a 30ºC :-/ e questo non è stato di aiuto alle piante a cui ovviamente non piace stare sotto queste temperature di continuo…nonostante questo e alla poca compattezza dei fiori sono super contento del gusto e dell’odore che ricordano tanto i terpeni della Calypso Sun Rock di Anesia Seeds, sarà che ho trovato un fenotipo che condivideva gli stessi geni con cui sono imparentate entrambe! Inoltre è stata la prima volta che ho avuto il piacere di utilizzare il super soil di Dogma Organics che sicuramente ha esaltato al massimo le particolarità della pianta e confermo che la differenza si sente, le piante crescono a meraviglia con struttura solida e zero carenze di nessun tipo se si usa con giuste quantità e tempi sia il top dress che le giuste quantità di acqua che dovrebbe sempre essere la cosa più importante dove bisogna imparare a capire i bisogni in base allo stadio di crescita…in più ho condiviso alcune foto del mio giardino di quest’anno :)) Fast Buds super consigliato genetiche ottime e selezioni veramente interessanti

Week 2 of the flowering phase flew by 🌱💨. Unfortunately, I may have overdone it with potassium or kept the water level too high – the classic signs of clawing leaves were evident. Thankfully, they seem to be recovering now and are back under control 💪🍃. My IR night experiment is showing clear results 🌌: The plants exposed to infrared radiation at night stretched significantly more. This might be especially beneficial for this indica-dominant strain as it leads to better canopy distribution, improved airflow, and reduced risks of mold and disease. Plus, the light distribution is much more efficient now, which I’m excited to see pay off. On the downside, my Orange Sherbert turned hermaphroditic 😔. It’s hard to pinpoint the cause – overfertilization seems unlikely since I’m using only organic nutrients. I suspect it might be linked to an E-field experiment I’ve been running. To confirm this theory, I’ll conduct a new grow with a similar strain next year to see if the electric field negatively impacts cannabis development. Stay tuned for updates! Leider habe ich wohl etwas zu viel Kalium gegeben oder den Wasserstand zu hoch gehalten – die typischen Anzeichen von Adlerkrallen waren sichtbar. Zum Glück scheinen sich diese jetzt zurückzubilden und sind wieder unter Kontrolle 💪🍃. Mein IR-Nachtexperiment zeigt bereits deutliche Ergebnisse 🌌: Die Pflanzen, die nachts mit Infrarotstrahlung bestrahlt wurden, haben deutlich stärker gestretcht. Das ist besonders bei dieser indica-dominanten Sorte wahrscheinlich von Vorteil, da es zu einer besseren Verteilung des Blätterdachs führt. Dadurch verbessert sich die Luftzirkulation, das Risiko von Schimmel und Krankheiten wird minimiert, und die Lichtverteilung wird effizienter. Ich bin gespannt, wie sich das weiter auswirkt! Leider hat meine Orange Sherbert gezwittert 😔. Woran das genau liegt, kann ich schwer sagen. Eine Überdüngung halte ich für unwahrscheinlich, da ich nur biologischen Dünger verwendet habe. Ich vermute, dass mein E-Feld-Experiment eine Rolle spielt. Um das zu bestätigen, werde ich nächstes Jahr einen neuen Durchlauf mit einer ähnlichen Sorte machen und prüfen, ob das elektrische Feld tatsächlich eine ungünstige Rückentwicklung der Pflanze verursacht. Decent Growth this week. No change to the feeding schedule. I started to notice fungus gnats towards the end of this week so I've added glue boards and have started bottom feeding. DE powder may be necessary if the problem persists.
