It looks like I need to wait at least a few more days for them.. I also cut the two buds which I thought had some mold, luckily there was nothing… I‘m still thinking about an early harvest though… don‘t want to risk all 4 plants… RH is under control again, my dehumidifier was just broken:)

Midway through week 3 and things have taken off since I transplanted this past weekend! Still no nutrients added. Drilled holes in the sides...can't wait to tie them down. Side branching will do much better in the near future Sunday Feb. 10th update -It has been one week since I transplanted -plants have been tied down -trying to manipulate leaves so side branching gets light exposure -SECOND light is coming tomorrow -very difficult to get enough light on all 4 with 1 light -By the end of this week I plan on transplanting into Final Pots and prepare clones -Watch how crazy week 4 gets!

Hey now, hope everyone is having a great weekend. Not much to report on the Sundae Driver, she smells amazing, just kidding. I am feeding her with a syringe just plain water every 2-3 days and just lightly around the edge of the solo cup. I then go by weight of the cup to avoid over feeding. I will hopefully transplant to a solo cup in 7-10 days if all goes well. This is my first run with Royal Queen Seeds Genetics but I have smoked the hell out of some sundae driver genetics in the past and they were some of the best tasting nugs you could ever ask for. I plan to build a mainline and flip to 12/12 as soon as all 5 mainlines are built, hopefully around week 7. This Medic Grow light is perfect for a 5X5, and the AC Infinity 8" exhaust does an excellent job of keeping the tent cool. I will set up an auto feeding system which consists of a reservoir, and some 1/2" tubing that is hooked to a submersible pump in the reservoir and set to feed for 1 minute every 6 hours through halo feeders connected to ball valves to adjust the flow. The runoff then flows via gravity to a 5 gallon bucket in the tent with a shallow pan condensate pump that pumps the runoff out of the tent when it gets above 3 inches to another reservoir. I have been growing fruit and vegetables for over 40 years and I have recently switched to high frequency fertigation in Coco Coir for my tomatoes as well, as I believe this growth medium combined with this technique is the safest, most environment friendly, and foolproof method of getting monster yields no matter what crop you are growing, and I have seen massive results in both cannabis and tomatoes. Smoke: -Potency 8.5/10: First its going head pretty strong and ruin your short term memory but not super energetic after about 30-45min its start to feel very stony and lazy. -Smell 8/10: Earthy with hint of sweet and sour cream, pretty loud. -Taste 8/10: Earthy inhale and earthy/sour cream exhale no sweetness there anymore. -Bag appeal 9.5/10: Beauty semi hard nugs with nice amount trichs and pretty loud smell. -Yield 9.5/10: 190gr from 1 plant. Better defoliation and opening up could yield some more.

Growth review: - vigorous grower during veg - solid stretch - medium internode distance - small sized buds - lower buds not too airy - very easy/not fussy - medium amount of smell - 80+ days flower (12/12) in hydro DWC under full spectrum led - responded well to various lst techniques Ease of growth rating: 9/10 General note: --> For me personally this strain NEEDS a good cure and is not worth smoking yet... It has a bit of a citrus grassy (not hay) taste, with some 'special' fruity smells to it that remind a bit of grapes/cassis. When grinding/opening the curing pots there is a pretty dank heavy weed smell so I think the quality will come out after a few months of cure... In its current state not worth smoking for the taste or effect after 14 days cure. --> Currently the effect is not very strong, easy to handle and I need a lot to feel a bit. The effect lasts for short compared to the average strains I smoke. Should develop more character with a longer cure. We’re in the midst of the bulking phase now, with a few buds stacking up nicely. Unfortunately, the plant on the left has sparser bud distribution. Compared to other auto genetics, these three plants also show a broad variety in growth structure and phenological traits. Also, overall plant health isn’t entirely satisfying, with high temperatures being the Main cause. The leaves are showing several stress-related issues like mild tip burn, nitrogen deficiency, and some cal-mag problems. But hey—we’re here to grow buds, not leaves! 😄 That said, the fade is to be expected as the plants start to cannibalize themselves for nutrients. I don't have words to describe how happy i am She's getting fat fast, by the day! Also, very very sticky snow And the smell... Very distinct, strong odor, spicy, and earthy like coffee, but very dense, almost like some kind of industrialized cheap snack(?) Little fertilizer just to boost her, considering i'm using a really complete live soil. Watering about each 2 days. Little defoliation. Also i added carbonized rice husk as a soil cover and put up a yellow trap, just to be safe lol I really don't know how to describe it, if anyone smelled something similar before, please share with me :)

In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. This week I laid the terrible stretchy net (seriously people, just dont buy them) but added some surveyor string to add the needed tension. That means all the wire can come off and I know these stalks were happy about that! Training did not go nearly as well as I hoped, but looking at 6-8 colas per plant.

They're all very healthy looking, one has some slight yellowing which should disappear soon with our change but all plants are extremely small for their size.. we've been letting these dry out completely between watering so I'm convinced there's a genetic component to this. We've had a few other strains start extra slow for us in the past and one in particular that started slow and then took off like wildfire around week 5 so I'm not too concerned ..they're each using 3gal square (plastic) pots willed with fresh Promix-HP..they're getting a little bit of Big Bloom with smaller amounts of Grow Big with every other watering now and this has corrected the odd hue we noticed around wk3.. WEEK 1 of flower. This is insanely quick, veg for three weeks and on week 4 we are flowering strong. It is raining a lot, so i had to use a top dressing, ingredients on the week 3, to manage the soil nutrients till the end of the cycle. About two table spoons. Watering once a week, with the mix above, otherwise rain is taking care of them, very natural as a grow, nothing much complicated, no science fiction with fertilizer or chemistry. I’m curious about the yield, and how much can i pull out of this way, with minimal work and a nearly inert soil. Let’s see how this experiment turns out.

Intermediate Results Overview This grow was intense! Setting up the grow consumed so much of my time and focus that I started slacking at work, and it took me a month to get back on track. But hey, what’s the point of a job if it gets in the way of growing? 😉 In the end, everything worked out, and I gained invaluable experience. This was my first grow using coco coir. At first, I didn’t get it, but then it just clicked! Now I’m hooked: "I’m here to stay." Coco is more controlled than soil, flushes easily, and you can introduce beneficial microbes, which thrive in it. My main takeaway from this grow? If you buy coco, don’t forget CalMag! Next time, I’ll definitely install HEPA filters at the intake. The amount of dust was insane, and the grow box pulls air like a vacuum cleaner. Watching the timelapse, you can see the box sucking in every bit of dust. I vacuumed the intake filters weekly. The plant was incredibly sticky, but that also meant it caught a lot of lint and fibers between trichomes, especially visible under a microscope. Smoking microplastics? No, thank you! --- On CO2 CO2 only works if everything else is dialed in. If the plant experiences stress from deficiencies or overfeeding, you can forget about it. Since CO2 supplementation requires turning off the exhaust fan, it’s hard to manage temperature and humidity. The plant releases so much moisture that RH jumps to 80% within minutes. It’s doable, but definitely a challenge. --- On Magnetic Fields No clue what’s happening here yet, but it’s fascinating! I’ll test again with a control sample. --- Nutrients Dreams do come true—I’ve tested almost everything Advanced Nutrients offers. It wasn’t all smooth sailing; their feeding charts need adjustments for your conditions, and you usually need to feed less than recommended. Overall, I’d say the nutrients performed 100%, and I see no reason to switch. I’ll stick with them for future grows. --- Strain This strain is reliable, though not the most productive. It flowered exactly as advertised and delivered a frosty finish. It tolerated all my mistakes like a champ—especially mold. Despite an abandoned SCROG plan turning the plant into a bouquet, there wasn’t a single mold spot, even in the densely packed lower buds that got almost no light. Zero mold issues! --- Aroma As advertised: pine, wood, and citrus. At first, I thought it smelled like grapefruit, but now I’m leaning toward bergamot. Bergamot with a classic weed aroma—a recognizable twist on the usual scent. During the grow, the smell was strong, but the carbon filter handled it perfectly. --- Flavor It’s too early to say, but the flavor is definitely there! Embarrassingly, all my past harvests tasted the same—like nothing. Just smoke. This one has a distinct sour taste. I’m excited to see how it develops after curing. --- Effect Too early for a full review, but I love what I’ve tried so far. The high lasts about three hours, with euphoria and relaxation. It’s the perfect evening strain. I’ve smoked a lot over the years, but I’ve never experienced true euphoria—until now. Guess I’ve been stuck with garbage and ditch weed before. 😅 It’s not a strain for productivity or chores, but it’s perfect for chilling, watching something, or chatting. No anxiety, just great vibes. It feels like having a beer after a long day: you relax, and life feels good again. --- Roots The roots were healthy—maybe too healthy! While the AirPot (20L) prevented root circling, it didn’t eliminate it entirely. There were dead zones at the bottom where roots circled around the perimeter. A dense root mat formed at the bottom (so dense you couldn’t poke a finger through it), which likely contributed to salt buildup. Breaking through that mat required more water, and I suspect this caused EC to spike 1.5x the next day if there was no runoff. Next time, I’ll mix some pumice with the substrate at the bottom, about 3–4 cm deep. --- Timelapse I only got the timelapse running after the switch to flowering, so it’s not from the beginning. Still, it’s an incredibly useful tool for understanding growth rates. I’ll definitely use it for future grows. Comparing yesterday to today is one thing, but rewinding a week to see how things were is game-changing. I recommend it! You can even use an old phone with a timelapse app if your camera doesn’t support it by default. --- What’s Next I’ve grown fat buds before, but I’ve always neglected curing. This time, I’m doing it by the book with full control. Drying in the grow box with RH controlled at 50–60% (averaging 55%) for a slow, even dry. Temps are kept between 20–23°C, with frequent venting to keep it below 21°C for terpene preservation. After 7–10 days, when small stems snap with a characteristic sound, I’ll trim and jar them with humidity sensors. For the first two weeks, I’ll burp the jars twice daily, then reduce to once daily for the next two weeks. After that, I’ll monitor the RH sensors and adjust as needed. I’ll share the details after curing is complete. After drying, I’ll weigh the buds, take photos, and share another post in a month or two after curing to report on the flavor and aroma. For now, I’m taking a breather, fine-tuning my setup, and preparing for my next grow: Wizard Trees - Zangria S1.
