So I decided to completely Redo this diary and add an actual 'Week 1' to my 1st ever indoor grow.
This Summer I managed to grow a photo on my balcony (N13 Kush, experimental strain by Sensi Seeds) and learned a great deal! got 42 gr of dried bud, cured and smoked it in about 2 months so I knew this was the way to go!
Invested about 450€ for a full setup and the day after Christmas popped the 3 White Diesel Haze seeds i got from Sensi straight into the soil.
I pre-soaked them for about 24 hours in distilled water.
Unfortunately only 2/3 germinated, slightly disappointed but hey, I'm still learning I probably didn't soak em long enough or maybe i put one of the seeds too deep, won't hold it against Sensi Seeds ;)
My buddy from Houston :P ordered me some killer Gorilla Auto seeds with Royal Queen Seeds and they gave a bunch of freebie seeds, one of them Nothern Lights auto, so I popped that one in (2 weeks later though)
Let the fun begin!!!
So about 2 weeks in, things are really starting to go. Both plants are looking healthy albeit a little light streched, lowered the lights a bit and fixed it....
I put in the Royal Queen Northern Lights Auto, upped the humidity with a little help from a crappy humidifier (it actually broke due to calcium blockage after 2 weeks because I was stupid and forgot to fill it with distilled water instea of tap water....)
At the end of week 2 the new NL seed showed herself to the world.... YAY!
Another week of Veg gone and trying to understand feeding.... My last grow (the one on the balcony) i overwatered at the start so I made sure this time I would not make the same mistake. I dgave a bit more root booster and found some organic Molasses that i added to the 1st feeding. I know its now considered 'food' but more as an activator of microbes in the earth but I'm sure it can't hurt right?
Quite some growth this week, so tried to LST it down a bit... Buuuuut I'm not happy with it, I can forsee spacing problems (should have maybe planted the seeds off-set to one side of the pot to get a better growth going....I'll probably undo the tie-down and just let it grow.
So I'm seeing some yellow tips, also on the new growth and I'm a little surprised because I'm not feeding that much tbh...at least I think I'm not.... reading up a bit, not sure if its nute burn or something else... got some cal-mag anyway , seeing i'll need it soon..
Tthe Northern Lights is going up like crazy! it has a completely different 'build' to it, much wider and distances then the more compact Diesel.
Held off on the feeding, just distilled water ...but maybe 'll just switch to tap water, leaving it outside for a night or two...no more root booster....seems a little redundant.
Okay, no more LST!! Just gonna let it X-mas tree and see, doesn't seem its going to hit the light or anything, and the Northern lights is filling out well, looking much greener and with fatter leaves...
Started giving tap water with just Molasses, and added some Sensi cal-mag because the Diesels seemed to get more and more lighter...
So Flowering has started, I defoliated a bit and started giving some Bloom and flower...the humidity is starting to stress me out because its super humid outside and getting some crazy RH (70/80%) I need to fix this before it becomes an issue.
So I moved my clip on fan to the bottom to see if I could move the canopy a bit better. it lacks power though.
More defoliation and nutes this week, they are seriously getting hungry now! I ordered a new 30cm honeywell ground fan and dehumidifier to quickly solve the RH issues, I don't want to risk mold or other surprises.
So this week the plants streched like crazy, the NL started to flower too and has actually become taller then the other 2 plants, even though its technically 2 weeks behind. the strange thing is its way more spacious then the packed Diesel.... it'll be fun seeing how they match up in the end!
My new fan and dehumidifier solved the RH issue I had and I crushed it down to under 50% now! Things are looking like they're on the right track.....fingers crossed!
I wonder if there is anything else I can add , nutrient wise... i know I shouldn't overdo it but I'll play around a bit and see.
Got rid of most bigger and medium fan leaves that i felt were blocking the bud-sites from getting light...again, not sure about if I'm going about this the right way, seems counter-intuitive to get rid of so much green but hey ...it helps greatly with lowering humidity and keeps the bottom of the girls nice and ventilated. I actually took off a bit more because it keeps growing shut.
Update: got some big bud and overdrive from my local grow shop... I'll give it a try...
Allright guys & gals, In my Quest to mastering the art of growing my own bud I've reached the classic, overfeeding point but i've decided to just dile it down a gear and keep at it...I'm amazed with the Northern Lights blooming, it looks way readier then the Diesel Haze, eventhough it was planted 2 full weeks after. the budsare smaller still, but fostier and just looking riper....I have noticed the bigger leaves getting some nasty nuteburn (or at least I guess thats what it is) . I will definately go super easy on the nutes next grow.
....Trust the process....
Update... The NL is suffering quite a bit...
Update... Giving just water the next times to see if they recover... Pistils becoming brown now and smell slowly getting stronger...
Well of trying to get healthy again after burning the crap outta my girls, the probably stunned pretty bad since I'm not seeing much change. The tops have become more dense and the RH has dropped petty drasticly...
I did 3 Waterings just tapwater (24/48 hrs outside) my pH pen isn't working so going blind, but generally the pH is decent, measured in the past... No idea how long to still wait... Probably 1 weeks, maybe 3...not planning on flushing, seems too much of a useless ritual that isn't needed...
What to say about last week...I learned a lot about what NOT to do next time! the Northern Lights had all the leaves curl up and die on me so I decided to take it out and cut it...fuck it....a bit of a disappointing stick of nothing that prolly wont yield much, I'll add a 'Harvest for it next week when It's finished hanging. I messed up the watering (about once every 3 days) and gave em all (3) cal-mag instead of the overdrive I wanted to give...facepalm.... I guess that finished off the NL for good:P
Anyway, the Diesel gals are looking healthy-ish... seeing some heavy leave coloration and curling but buds are looking frostier by the day! nice and compact, sweet smell, checked the trics but still waiting to spot the 1st brown ones, I'll try and keep em cooking till I feel its time (2 more weeks:P)
😁
This Freebee ROyal Queens Northern Lights Auto went in a full 2 weeks after my main 2 auto's (White Diesel Haze Sensi), it jumped so fast in hight that it outgrew em and got nasty burn off the light I think...Had high hopes but meager outcome to get me to the Diesel harvest in a few w.
Its in its final week, the leaves are pretty much gone, most is drying up and the buds have become super dense! can't wait to dry and try!
Fed the full Overdrive amount this time seeing I don't think it'lll matter much anyway from this point on...will probably chop this weekend and dry for a week, then the Gorilla auto's will go in, maybe together with Silver Haze Auto ;)
Got something to smoke while I try and get my second grow going!
It was a great learning lesson and I think I know what I messed up this grow to improve the next.
