Plants are looking much healthier than before. There’s a bit leaf curling on sour dream. Their growth didn’t stunt at all after defoliation as I did it way more than I should have. The unknown strain has been growing so perfectly.

Hello Diary. New diary, in the fifth farm I have three new residents, one Fat Banana and two Haze Berry. Both sides are from the Royal Queen Seeds. And this diary is dedicated only to Fat Banana. I would like to thank the team from the Royal Queen Seeds who have recognized my efforts in keeping a diary and greatly support me in what I love. I always try to make a balance between sativa and indica, since I do creative work, I am a big fan of sativa, although in the evening, when my obligations are over, I like to relax with indica. So this time I planted two Haze Berry Auto that are predominantly sativa and one Fat Banana which is more indica. WHY FAT BANANA? Fat Banana Automatic stinks of tropical fruits and produces large, chubby flowers. The strain is the autoflowering version of Fat Banana, an aromatic classic. The original made her mark on the cannabis world with her insane scent, massive THC level, and rewarding yield. Fat Banana Automatic inherited indica-dominant genetics from the original strain. I prepared everything I needed for planting, cleaned the farm and changed the filter. I put Primaklima filter - PK 100/125. This time I decidet for AirPots, I also used them in the first two farms, BioBizz-Light Mix is ​​already standard on my farm and Easy Boost and Easy Roots Mycorrhiza Mix from RQS as organic nutrition. Also the humidity dropped so I put on a humidifier for a couple of days. 18/09/2020 Fat Banana sprouted, a day later from her first roommate Haze Berry. 19/09/2020 Watering. I watered with about a liter of water with regulated p.H. 23/09/2020 Watering. Regulated by p.H. at 6.4 and gave her approximately 1 liter of water. I think Grow Diaries made a great decision to put this germination week as an option, yet that germination process is just as important and it’s great to have room to write more and show how each of us does it. The buds are forming! Changed to a nicer light recently, light is great, although my mars hydro 600w did me justice. This new one I got of amazon for under $100 is 1000 watt led and crushing it. It has increased temps significantly which is a bit tough for me to control given my tent is in a closet. Also it is starting to getting less humid outside, so I reduced airflow in the tent to keep the humidity at 50. I have a small humidifier coming soon (oddly a Corporate work gift lol).

Was a pretty smooth week for most the girls. Showing some steady growth. I topped all of the plants around day 12 other than the slurricane 7. Ph got a little high since the nutrient level was too low to buffer it at the beginning of the week. Slurricane 7 and sugar cane are the ones that took some damage. I think they will be ok though. I upped the nutrients to 1/4 tsp per gallon and the ph has held stable since then. Should be able to start some training the middle of next week and looks like we might be going 2 more weeks on veg before flipping them to flower depending on how this upcoming week goes. Guess you will have to show up next week to find out...

Buds plumping up now the tallest of the 3 strains I’m running now but it’s also the least in diameter and canopy density but it’s good for the density it has I still have to defoliate but no where near as often as say the Alaskan purple witch I have to pull 5 to 8 leaves a day and no matter how many you pull the center of the plants like a jungle.

This week I inoculated the room leaves and plants with Neoseiulus cucumeris, I have had minor thrip problems all summer, Usually I use lady bugs to combat them but none have been available this year. I inoculated the plants by shaking the bottle full of Cucumeris and bran over the leaves. I will do this a few times before pre flowers show. Cucmeris are predatory mites that eat the thrip larvae. And are supposed to work for spider mites as well. I added the scrog nets to the room and began training the plants through them. I then flipped the lights over to 12 and Initiated pre flower. All vegetative growth was very vigorous. The goal of this grow is to do a preliminary test to begin to determine if Mycelium provides any additional benefits to Cannabis when allowed to colonize in super soil before being added to bottom layer of the pot. The Process: 1) 8 weeks Prior to Germination Super Soil is mixed (see super Sub cools super soil recipe further down the page) and added to spinning two part composter, water is added and the super soil mix is allowed to break down for a week. 2) 7 weeks Prior To germination 1L of colonized mycelium is added to each side of composter. Mycelium is now allowed to colonize the super soil. 3) After 8 weeks total the Mycelium has had enough time to colonize throughout the super soil mix and is ready to be added to the bottom 1/3rd of the pots. See Pictures for an example of what this looks like.

Welcome back all, following a week that has been a fairly straight forward seven days or so in Fat Yappa's Garden, as the older Bruce Banners reach day 51, day 44 for the runt of the sisters, planted on the same day but that took a week longer to germinate, and day 42 for the two Wedding Cheesecake's, one growing in Coco Coir, the other in the same living soil as her Bruce Banner Fastbuds cousins. The week began with last weeks humidity issues brought well and truly into hand with the addition of the new 20L dehumidifier from Meaco, specifically designed for the UK weather. However a shift in the aforementioned from the falls dawn of an early spring, to a return to more usual climate conditions for this time of year through things off kilter once again. Despite pulling around 6L of water out the air a day, she was struggling to keep the RH down to around 50% with my central heating returned to its usual position of 18c, but an increase to 20c has taken things back in line, and the humidity has returned to the mid 40's I was aiming for. Humidity concerns during this off period however, and a subsequent inspection below the top layer of the canopy, which resulted in the discovery of quite a lot of whitish, moist growth, prompted a mass defoliation, mostly of the Bruce Banners. I had been performing very light defoliation up until this point, only removing dead/almost dead leaves, and very select leaves from the top of the canopy that were blocking what looked like bud sites, but the lack of light and air getting through past the top layer, together with the fact that now bud sites are far clearer to a novice such as I, lead me to the conclusion that the time was right. Besides the runt, all these plants have not even skipped a beat. The runt has been a bit droopier in her leaves than the others all in all, but I have looked in on them and seen her with leaves pointing up and praying a few times since so I trust all is well. Following the defoliaton on day 47, the plants stuck to their two day watering schedule, but di threatened to need an increase to daily, as day 50 saw waterings a mere 24hrs after the previous day, but feeling the weight of the pots yesterday I elected to wait til 48 hours to water again. The water amounts per plant has also become more erratic than previously, so I have been watering more carefully. Other than that the week has been pretty much plain sailing, and what look like to be some big looking flowers coming up all over the canopy, as all bar the Wedding Cheesecake in living soil are now fully in flower, but she will be there by next week. The Bruce banner I accidentally snapped the top off from the second node down doing LST a few weeks ago seems to be about half a week ahead of the other two of the same age, and trichomes have began to appear on the leaves around the buds. The biggest plant in the tent is still the wedding Cheesecake in Coco coir, as she now stand a metre tall and her top is the same level as the light now. Her size is a concern because it has caused me to neglect her in favour of the other plants, certainly in terms of light, but she doesn't seem to have any more bud sites than the other plants, and for the time being at least, her older cousins are leaving her to shame in this department, but she still has a week to catch up. Lastly, day 39 saw another compost tea feeding, the same recipe as last time. Happy growing everyone, and I will catch you all again next week.

I think I'm about a week away from harvesting #1. There are a few amber trichomes on the buds (there are more on the sugar leaves) but the smell I'm looking for isn't there and many of the pistils are still white. I have just been giving it plain tap water with no nutrients for the last few weeks.
