Obvious indicas starting to bulk. sativas still stretching.. Started upping additives for resin and terpene production. Not sure if it's worth it on unknown strains, but giving it a go anyway.. I know what these seeds produce in soil, so should be able to compare end product.. Getting problems in the kratky..Changed over to using vitaponix (bought a sample pack) - and am getting what looks like root rot.. Ai is now telling me it could be a good time to lower my Canna a to 2.5mlpl and keep b at 4mlpl. to lower nitrogen intake. give that a go next week. Have combined week 4&5 pics.

Flowers really showed up this week. Started feeding flowering nutes as of tonight, so they went 2 full weeks still on veg nutes. Today is the end of week 2 since switching to flowering light schedule. Growth isn’t as explosive as it had been the first two weeks, however still growing. Slowly did some defoliating over the last 2 weeks, opened things up a bit, will do a little more this week and then leave them to grow until harvest. Stay blessed and happy growing 😎

Another week, some more training, and girls seem healthy and green. No real clear signs of flower yet, meaning it may be bigger girls. Hopefully nice growth in the next week as well. Will continue to water when dry at a PH of 6.2-6.8, with decholrinated tap water and, keeping bottom of fabric pots wet to encourage root growth. Also keeping top soil moist and making sure they are getting decent light exposure. Will be amending top soil around and of week 5. Otherwise been easy and just monitoring heat and humidity. So far been easy to maintain 50-55% and temps from 22-24C during day. Sits between 19-20C at night. Continue to pull top sites down with LST and a couple leaves here and there, but otherwise usually tuck leaves under prime bud sites. I've decided another grow light would be the best way to go. I have bought another light and will update the diary next week with that information!

Plants continued to grow well some plants show signs of nutrient deficiencies, trying to address it without burning all the other plants. But besides that all looks good and we ready to flip to flower. 12/12 cycle to start. Clones looking strong and ready to be replanted as mothers for the next batch of clones / SOG

Marching through flowering! She's doing very well all things considered. Last week I said I broke a few branches? Last picture this week is a close up on the area. She has repaired herself and it's as if nothing has happened! Nature really is miraculous. I honestly expected to loose at least 2 branches!!!

The healthiest plant I've grown so far, no signs of any deficiency or stress, yet the buds are developing slowly. The slow bud development may be strain specific, but I am not sure as it's my first time growing this cultivar. Looks like a 10 week flowering period run.

BUENOS HUMOS!

2024 November 7: First cold freeze of the year, Last photo shoot before harvest, wow. First ever outdoor grow for me, no rain cover, no greenhouse. Watered with rainwater collected from the roof plus the nutrients. The plant blended in quite nicely to the environment. The smell was quite nice, not too disturbing and i was smelling it just when i was close to the plant. I harvested the plant and washed the buds, it needs more manicure than any other plant i came across with due to the small green leaves... Still beautiful plant, beautiful buds, what a journey, what a monster lady!

This week was marked by stable climate control and healthy plant response after the recent transplant. The SCROG net was maintained, and light defoliation was performed on the larger plant to open up the canopy. The smaller plant, though bushy, was left mostly intact to avoid over-stressing after transplant. Both plants showed daily leaf movement — reaching for the light during the day and relaxing at night — a sign of good turgor and rhythm. Environmental conditions stayed well within target, with VPD averaging around 1.14 kPa during the day and 0.92 kPa at night. On Sunday, a corrective action was taken to address minor color variations: the feed was adjusted to include the full bloom-phase nutrient mix at 75 % strength. Spoiler: within 24 hours, the color balance already started to improve. Reason for transplanting the smaller plant: The smaller Special Queen was transplanted from an 11 L fabric pot into an AutoPot system to ensure more consistent watering and nutrient delivery during the bloom stretch. The original pot was starting to dry out unevenly, which risked fluctuations in moisture and root zone health. By moving it into the AutoPot setup, we aimed to stabilize its environment, promote steady root expansion, and allow it to keep pace with the larger plant under the SCROG. The transplant was carried out carefully to minimize root disturbance, and the plant showed no signs of transplant shock in the following days.

🌸 Week 5 Flower – Frost on the Horizon We’ve reached the midway mark of flower, and the Mango Kush sisters are entering their true production phase. What started as white hairs and clusters is now becoming recognizable bud sites, with calyx swelling, pistils stacking, and resin glands beginning to form. Even though the two phenos are still at slightly different paces, both are showing the strength of Mango × Hindu Kush genetics: dense flower set, uniform branching, and a promise of rich aromas to come. ⸻ 💧 Feeding Update – Adjusting for Signs & Demands This week we observed minor leaf spotting, likely an early sign of calcium/magnesium imbalance. With the canopy pushing hard into bloom, demand for structural nutrients rises. To address this, we adjusted the recipe: Updated Feeding Mix (per liter): • 🌿 Aptus Regulator – 0.15 ml • 🌿 Aptus CalMag Boost – 0.35 ml (slight increase for leaf support) • 🌿 Aptus All-In-One Liquid – 1 ml (reintroduced for balanced NPK support) • 🌿 Plagron Sugar Royal – 1 ml • 🌿 Plagron Green Sensation – 1 ml Why this change? • All-In-One Liquid provides a steady base of NPK to complement the super soil and ensure no hidden deficiencies appear as flowers bulk. • CalMag Boost increased slightly to help counter early spotting and reinforce leaf health. • Sugar Royal & Green Sensation remain to push terpene, resin, and bud density. 🌱 Educational Takeaway: At mid-flower, nutrition must shift slightly from “steering” to supporting. The plant is now a high-demand engine, and small deficiencies show quickly. Adding back a balanced NPK base (All-In-One) ensures pistil and calyx production doesn’t stall. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment – Riding the Heat The room remains lively but challenging: • 🌡️ Temps: peaking at 31–34°C • 💧 RH: 50–60% • 📊 VPD: ~1.8–2.0 kPa While slightly hotter than ideal, the Mango Kush girls are holding strong thanks to airflow and the resilience provided by biostimulants like Sugar Royal and Regulator. An AC unit is on the way, which will stabilize the climate moving forward. 🌱 Educational Takeaway: High VPD increases water demand, plants drink more, transpire faster, and pull nutrients quicker. This can be beneficial if balanced correctly, but also risky: deficiencies show up faster, and stress can slow bud formation. Monitoring and adjusting is the key. ⸻ 💡 Lighting – Mid-Canopy Power Boost Our lighting orchestra is now running at higher intensity to fuel flower bulking: • ThinkGrow Model One – deep penetration into the canopy • 2× ThinkGrow ICL-300 bars – mid-canopy support, ensuring no shadowed sites • Future of Grow Black Series 600W – full-spectrum coverage • Lumatek Zeus 465W Compact Pro – evening out the footprint PPFD is averaging 750–800 µmol/m²/s, which is perfect for mid-flower. The canopy is even, with bud sites developing from top to bottom. 🌱 Educational Takeaway: Mid-canopy lighting like the ICL-300 prevents “popcorn buds” by ensuring lower sites receive enough light intensity to develop properly. The result: fuller plants, less larf, more usable flower. ⸻ 🌱 Genetics in Action – Mango Kush Week 5 • Pheno #1 – Still ahead, stacking pistils into early bulking buds, beginning to sparkle under macro view. • Pheno #2 – Catching up fast, with strong pistil growth and early calyx development. Though she started later, her structure is filling in beautifully. Both phenos are showing that classic Mango Kush balance: fruit-forward aromas beginning to rise when you brush the flowers, with the Kush backbone promising earthy depth in the final cure. ⸻ 🔮 What to Expect & What Not to Expect ✅ Expect this week and next: • Rapid calyx swelling → buds begin “rounding out” • Trichome initiation across sugar leaves • First noticeable sticky texture • Stronger aroma when handling ❌ Not yet: • Full frost coverage (peaks Weeks 6–7) • True terpene explosion (Weeks 7–8) • Final density (Weeks 7–9) 🌱 Educational Takeaway: Week 5 is often where growers get impatient. Resist the urge to overfeed or over-adjust. Buds are setting their foundation now, the bulk and frost come with time. ⸻ 🔄 Recap – The Journey So Far • Weeks 0–2: Seedlings established, Aptus Start Booster support • Weeks 3–4 Veg: Rapid branching, transplant into super soil + Aptus Mycor-Mix & Buffer • Week 5 (Flip): 12/12, stretch begins • Flower Weeks 1–2: Power Buds introduced, lighting expanded • Flower Week 3: Flower set established, pistils everywhere • Flower Week 4: Bulking begins, feeding simplified • 🌸 Flower Week 5 (Now): Buds swelling, trichomes emerging, All-In-One Liquid reintroduced, environment monitored closely ⸻ 🙏 Gratitude To everyone following along, thank you. Each week is a balance of science, art, and patience, and it means a lot to share this journey together. The Mango Kush sisters are teaching us once again: growth happens in stages, and trust in the process brings the best results. ⸻ 💭 Grower’s Note: “This week felt like the garden finally started to sparkle. The first trichomes are here, pistils are building like fireworks, and even with the heat waves, the girls stand tall. Pheno #1 is racing, Pheno #2 is steady — and together, they remind me that nature never grows in straight lines, only in rhythms.” 📲 Don’t forget to Subscribe and follow me on Instagram and YouTube @DogDoctorOfficial for exclusive content, real-time updates, and behind-the-scenes magic. I think this is the first week where I've started to have some issues on just about every plant. The buds still look awesome and healthy, but I'm being a bit paranoid that the rest is gonna go down quick. They all have leaves that are starting to yellow a bit. Temp: Trying to push the temp up. Its 70-80 but usually closer to 70. Humidity: Closer to 60, trying to get it down with a new dehumidifier soon. Critical Kush - Minor yellowing Quarter Pounder - Had some spots on this on Thursday and starting to yellow. I skipped the Dr Earth Life in the previous feeding because it looked like it had some burn, but now I think its suffering. Amnesia - On Sunday, after watering on Saturday, the Amnesia seemed to take a pretty big hit. A lot of the leaves dried up and got crispy and I'm not quite sure why. Check out the video for an overview of some of the issues and let me know if you have suggestions!
