when you grow a feminised photoperiodic outdoors you have to bring time and patience. she is growing and is strong. still no sign of sex. she hasn't really had much stress, so i'm not worried about her turning male. i'll just keep growing her. her sister, RQS Northern Light is also doing very well. both have been given a homemade fertiliser made from aquafaber, coffee grounds and banana peel. they liked it very much.

Another week has flown by! The girls are doing great, cruise control this week as I have just been monitoring RH and temps. Trying to keep them as low as possible, I’ve been getting as low as 74 during the day and 68 at night. I finally took a look a look at the trichomes with my jewellers loop, lots of cloudy, and a few amber around the leaves and top colas, but still lot’s of clear trichomes. I’ve ordered myself a wireless/usb digital microscope to assist with the process, and looks like it will be here just in time to determine harvest day. 😎🎄 I started by eliminating the nutrients at the beginning of the week. I typically allow for 3-4 pure water feeds before I harvest, and at the rate they have been drinking, this should be enough to get through the 7-12 days they have before harvest. I don’t flush, but rather “rinse” with normal water amounts, allowing the plant to use up the remaining nutrients in the soil. This also allows me to recover most of the soil from my grows and reuse ♻️ with other soil mix. There has been great debate and a great deal of bro science out there for many years, but the recent studies suggest there is no difference in end result when it comes to flushing or using nutrients right until the end, if a proper dry and cure is performed. Veg36, están creciendo bastante bien, a esperar unos días para un próximo riego. Veg38, ya hay que revisar amarras y ver si hay hojas abanico tapando algún brazo, siguiente riego era en 1 o 2 días más. Veg40, se regó con EC 2.5 y pH 6.0, se cortaron un par de hojas, hay que seguir haciendo LST para lograr una altura uniforme. Veg41, algunas hojas están mostrando quemadura en la puntas por exceso de nutrientes, los siguientes riegos tendrán que ser más suaves.

Time for the stretch! Lots of flowering growth happening now. I can see where the bud spots will be so I’m going to have to stop moving the branching around in the Scrog, also the branches are getting thick and less pliable.

She grew beautifully and smelled great. Wonderful lady. Would love to grow her again she threw weight like a boss. I can’t wait to cure her up and smoke her.

Holy stretching Batman!!! Sour Diesel Haze has taken off this week and I don't think she's done yet 😃 She's just starting to show small white hairs, so maybe I could call this the first week of flowering, but I'm going with the last week of veg for diary purposes.

This week I had to remove my red light (sad because red leds are the most efficient one in terms of pffd per wattage) the reason for that is bleaching of the tips. Scientists found out that cultivars start bleaching if u hit 600 umol/m2/s red light (just red photons and not every strain bleaches). Besides that I did nothing to them. From now on I will try to keep the temps low but with a pretty small day/night temp difference. Now preservation of terps and maturing are my points of interests. Some nice colours are getting through … that was supported by some nitrogen deficiency. This was Not on purpose but better than burning them with nutrients. (Nitrogen is required to produce chlorophyll, which is Green. If u reduce the nitrogen towards the end you can support other pigments to come through.)
