Week 10 - Final week before harvest this strain has been an experience growing. Plants are Frosty and very sticky with intense Strawberry Grape Terps. I’ll update with a final harvest Good Luck Everyone.

Because of how early I topped her, the base was very dense with foliage so I did some defoliation. You can see the four main branches (2 of which were topped) and the central FIM with its supercropping scars in the 4th pic. Still running a 1000w MH bulb at 50%. Looking at getting a SMLED/COB LED combo light to replace my cool tube and associated fans and ducting. Water level was down to 50%. I'll have to start topping up. July 04 I rearranged my setup a bit while switching the MH bulb for the HPS. I think next run I'm going to grow 2 autoflowers and stagger them and try to run a perpetual harvest. I'm going to try to stick with the HID lights if I can manage the heat effectively. It was working well when I had the 6" cooltube and the 4" carbon filter exhausting out the window, but now that the smell is more intense, I don't want any air going out except through the carbon filter. I've thought about running filter-->fan-->cooltube-->outside but they're different sizes so it would lose efficiency. I've also thought about running clean air from outside the tent through the cooltube and then outside as it was intended, but I just don't think that's going to work with the space. July 05 I noticed shiny spots on the leaves which seems to indicate I have thrips. I can't see any actual larvae even with my glasses on, but the sucked out spots are fairly distinctive and I can see small black particles that must be excrement. Temperature seems pretty good in there and humidity is ok at about 45%. I have some peppermint Dr Bronner's castile soap so I made a foliar spray of insecticidal soap by just pouring a few drops into a big spray bottle. Just worried about when to spray so I don't burn the plant. Just checked the reservoir and temp is 26c, PPM 860, Ph 6.5. I'm going to add plain water and try to bring the Ph back down to 5.5. It's possible that what I'm seeing is due to the Ph being too high. I'm going to start checking the Ph at least every couple days. It's annoying to unclip all the training wires every time I open the reservoir. It's also not very convenient to fill it. It's at an awkward height. I like the 5 gallon bucket because it was easy to set up and understand but I might be better off with a different type of reservoir. 3:45pm I just sprayed the underside of one section of leaves, I'll see how that section does under the lights. My concern is that if I spray under the lights, it will burn, but if I spray at night, it could cause mold. Hopefully I can get away with spraying all the leaves once or twice a week and it will go away. July 06 She looks ok but I'm thinking it might be a Ph issue. Ph was 6.2 so I decided to just pitch the water and start again. I changed my method so I'm mixing the nutrients in the actual bucket the plant lives in and testing it there, instead of mixing in another bucket and pouring it into the DWC. Ph is now 5.7 and PPM 700. July 08 just noticed that RH is 70% when the lights come on. I feel like I'm going to need a solution for overnight humidity. Maybe dry rid bags. Rh is 60% after a couple hours. Leaf, solution, and substrate temp down to 24 which is nice. Ph is back up to 6.3 again! I pH downed some tap water to 4 and added that to the reservoir. July 09 Pistils just started coming out :) The Ph is still back up to 6.3 again but PPM is 750. I'm going to change the res again and lower the nutrient content a bit.

This week I performed a fairly heavy defoliation, which opened up the canopy and encouraged strong branching throughout the plant. The response has been excellent, with vigorous new growth and a very even canopy developing across all main tops thanks to the ongoing LST. The structure looks extremely promising, and it appears this will be the final week of vegetative growth before Frostbanger transitions fully into flower next week.

I'll keep the RH in the room @ 50% for the first 24hrs., then raise it to 55-60% for the remainder of the drying. I have the temperatures in the Dry Room at a constant 65℉ to help preserve the terpenes. Hopefully she'll take 10-12 days to dry to the point that she's ready to be trimmed and jarred! 11/22 Week 14 One has fallen five remain FFT-11-1 is in dry Rate of harvest as much weather driven as anything dont want a lot exposed at once. Planning every 2-3 days FFT-10 is in full bud building mode still so keeping the pedal down on them with a 10/10 finishing feed till we see some closure on those buds. FFT-9 is really showing great color purple so deep almost black water only FFT-11-2 is waiting her turn water only 11/23 pics Harvest FFT-11-2 in the morning 11/24 Yield on FFt-11-1 : 189 grams dry FFt-11-2 in dry (1100 grams wet) 11/25 Unless the weather turns on us will harvest both FFt-9s tomorrow FFt-11-2 still in dry be finished tomorrow 11/27 The FFT-10 stands alone , showing signs of ending, putting them on a finishing feed and reduce as the buds close 11/28 Welp those signs of ending backed off and she making buds heavy again. Lights on pics Built a better jute cage for FFT-10-2 she is very wide and there was a danger of branches breaking from weight of buds. Increased Bloom and Peak PK hitting them a bit harder as dont want noticeable def beginning until I want them as much as practical. Buds still spikey and hairs strong though seem a few less its not much. Seems every time we switch up our PK for them it triggers another round of production. See what what when they begin to slow again. This is fun dont get to do this... ever... no space pressure finally although thats due to problems in germ more than my design going forward I think. End of week 5 for this lady. Awesome week for GG4 Sherbet FF she is bouncing back really good from the issues she had in earlier weeks. She still developing slow but thats ok. The leaves looks really good and healthy. I did a good defoliation to the botton so she can receive more light. For week 6 she only is going to receive water and cal-mag so she can continue with the recovering.

Harvest time!!! Sadly one plant was taken by either an angry farmer or a lucky one, but the smaller plant did make it all the way. There´s things I will change next time around for huerilla growths in general. 1.) No more photoperiodic strains for outside grows. Takes too long and they hardly ever mature in my part of the world. 2.) I will add soil/nutrition for the plants next time. Now I have tried going the natural way and I´m happy I did. It was a nice minty smoke, but honestly I would liked more than 2 joints for half a year of waiting 😉

Medium: 🥥🥥🥥🥥 Coco remains as the most manageable medium in our arsenal. It’s simplistic, similar to conventional soil but as a nutrient neutral medium, it’s also much more tailored to the growers preferences in terms of feeding. It’s best attribute is excellent drainage and consistency - a lot fluffier than soil which definitely translates to faster growth rates. It’s a damn shame that this particular grower forgot the cardinal f$&@king rule when it comes to any grow - always water to run off and pay attention to the strength of the feed in relation to the plants growth stage. If we had followed these basic principles we wouldn’t have run into the serious late stage burn that almost toasted the whole plant. On the flip side of that, coco flushes out incredibly well and if not for this attribute, the whole grow would’ve been an unmitigated disaster. Method 🎚️🎚️🎚️🎚️ Uggghhh - hindsight f$&@‘n sucks sometimes. Best descriptor for how we grew this girl - imagine having the dinner table set with your finest china, a bottle of the most expensive red wine you can find, a brand new top-o-the-line BBQ, and then burning the absolute f$&k out of a $40 prime rib. That’s exactly how this grow feels... We were looking to scrog it the whole time and this went perfectly. The plant helped quite a bit with longer than expected internodal spacing. This allowed for a really even canopy/bed of buds. Again though, the vipar 450w (truly a 200w~) shit the bed mid veg. And we needed a replacement. Went with a 100w SpiderFarmer QB. While I truly am pleased with the purchase I do believe that we should’ve upp’d to the 200w model (or 2, 100w models) to achieve a similar output and result - @silverback_guerilla was right on point with the lighting advice (*again). Given the reduced yield it just feels like the nodal spacing and overall bud quality may have suffered with the reduced power. This, despite the better light spectrum and overall coverage in general. As an aside - an additional Fixture is now on the way😉👍. Worst part about this is we’ll never really know what the true limiting factor actually was due to the nute burning. Probably the single most stupid, rook mistake I could’ve made was not watering to runoff.... just too much shit going down in the world (and in life) these days and I started to treat the grow like it was on auto pilot🤬🤬🤬. The whole worlds a cluster f$&k right now so why should the grow be any different right? 4/5 for the method, losing1 point because the grower is a lazy moron. Yield/Harvest🌴 The final numbers are better than expected, 2.26oz of usable bud. Not overly fluffy and not overly dense. Not glazed in frost but not without a little shimmer. All around mediocre unfortunately. What it coulda? Shoulda? Woulda been??? Note sure 🤔 but we’ll take it👍. On a more positive note - There was still another new addition to our grow cycle. This time on the back end. Everyone knows that trimming just plain sucks. When we’re spitt’n out 3-4 plants every few months, the exercise is a dreaded necessity if were gonna maintain the vast array of choice that we’re used to🤙👌. The whole process just for one plant can take hours unless you have help. We prefer to wet trim too so for those that don’t require a commercial size trimmer, the only option to save some time is a trim bowl. We bit the bullet, dropped the cash on one - have NOT been disappointed at all! Not only did it cut the chop process from 2-3 hours down to a mere 45 minutes, the buds literally came out rack ready. There was no need to do any touch up trimming and the bud photos you see are as-is, right out the bowl🤩. Really coulda used this last fall and I would recommend this to anyone who chops more than a handful of plants per year. Just awesome and worth every penny!👌🤙👍 At times like these, we should all just be thankful that we still have both the opportunity and ability to grow our own✌️. Week 3 = The Clown Show. I definitely transplanted too early into 14l pots. I also should have only started two seeds because this tiny tent is crowded now. I kinda freaked out when I saw what looked like nutrient deficiencies (calcium, potassium, I don't know) AND nutrient burn? I was so damn confused. I also realized not ph'ing was a dumb idea and quickly went out and bought a ph meter. I assumed since the tap water here is drinkable and not chlorinated, it's fine. But turns out it all comes from underground aquifers that are made of bedrock and every mineral that increases ph. I'm using lemon juice as my ph-down now and have figured that out pretty well. 1ml of it gets the water down to 6.0-6.3. Anyway, I spent the weekend in YouTube University trying to figure out what mistakes I made. More experienced growers, please feel free to comment with tips. Just don't be an asshole.

i was thinking about harvesting half and letting the bottom half finish but after chopping some of it i just ended up taking it all down. i knew i wouldnt get a crazy amount of weight from the early mess ups but im guessing it will be about 2 oz when dried. im happy with anything thats smokeable for a first time grower tho and i cant wait to get started on 2 more ladies :D im thinking maybe do the purple punch but this time use a 5 gallon pot so i can see her at her best ! the roots were sure cramped in this 2gallon lol. thanks for reading and following my journey :D

Growth is super, despite having splitting and getting a break where I topped due to something falling on the plant. I quickly patched her up with some electrical tape and a cable tie and she recovered within a day! Super resilient plant. She's starting to smell and putting out a few pistils already at the end of week 1 flower!

Electrical Conductivity refers to how easily a material or solution allows electrons or ions to flow continuously when an electrical potential is applied. Electrochemical Reactance is the opposition to alternating current (AC) caused specifically by the temporary storage of energy in electric or magnetic fields, rather than energy being lost as heat. Reactance does not directly alter a material's intrinsic electrical conductivity. Instead, it dictates how the system stores and releases energy over time, which creates a temporary barrier to current flow in AC circuits. Together with resistance, reactance makes up total impedance. Electrical impedance (the combination of resistance and reactance) in the rhizosphere dictates how easily ions and water move into plant roots, directly impacting the Electron Transport Rate (ETR). High impedance restricts ion mobility, leading to nutrient deficiencies that decrease ETR and stunt overall plant growth. Using copper and zinc plates in the plant medium to form a natural earth battery to assist with Electrochemical Reactance. The moist soil acts as an electrolyte, while zinc serves as the anode and copper as the cathode. Zinc is a highly reactive metal and oxidizes, losing electrons into the soil. These electrons travel through an external wire to the copper plate. The moisture and dissolved salts in your plant medium allow charged ions to move freely between the plates, completing the circuit and generating a small direct current (usually between 0.8 and 1.1 volts). This micro-current subtly alters/the Electrical Conductivity (EC), allowing more effective breaking apart of chemical bonds in the soil (electrolysis), making soil nutrients like phosphorus, calcium, and potassium more accessible to roots. Buried the zinc plate on one side of the plant’s root zone and the copper plate on the opposite side. Ran an insulated copper wire above ground to connect the zinc plate to the copper plate, creating a closed loop. Make sure your soil remains moist and contains natural mineral salts; entirely distilled water or bone-dry medium will prevent ion exchange and block the current.
