Flowering week 3. Everything is ok. I made a light defoliation.

DAY 56 flowering: Hi all and welcome to any new visitors too. We are at the near end point now with this 1st run of the viparspectra xs1500. It has been a very pleasant experience and also a humbling one too. I never expected the performance it has proven and initially thought I would struggle to find a practical way of incorporating it into my set up and to see what it had got to offer. Deciding to go the route I have was more driven by the lights abilities to perform wat better than I anticipated. The 5 seedlings soon became 5 big ladies that would have been impossible to squeeze under the 2x2 flowering coverage They did however, get an amazing start right up to flowering beginning before I had to choose who stayed under the xs1500. The 2 that I mainly diary for the lights ability are the focus of the journal but I have to include a little on the other strains due to their initial support from the light and to also include the Gorilla cookies as they are amazing plants. They are both so close to ready now and sadly one of the mains has been hit with an little bud rot from its density. The buds smell so candy sweet now too. I will be keeping a very vigilant eye on these now. Grandaddys mimosa had continued her swelling from using the #Shogun Dragon force and is a perfect example of how the product works in the final 2 weeks of flowering , when usually they are fading out to finish. The buds have doubled in girth with an absolutely solid feel to them too . The light has helped create some very hard buds. No signs of whisky popcorn at all and each stack is a solid spike of flowering plant. For such a squat girl, she is so impressive. She smells so fruity with a hint of citrus to her and she is engulfing all the leaves that had been poking out previously. I think she will be a surprise yield next week !. The Northern lights girls are both doing really well too with the #2 mutant starting to ripen up finally now. She is still way taller than her sister but has sone long node gaps. #1 is totally different, she is a spiked monster compared and her colas are taking on a nice pale orange colour as they ripen. I do think she will go another week before being ready to consider harvest. She is still so fresh looking in a lot of places that I dont want to rush her at all. The light has managed to penetrate deep enough into the plant to create long spiked colas with no issues down low in the canopy with whispy popcorn to mention either. This is a very positive point to mention as some l.e.d do not get the penetration needed to do more than create a top canopy with poor light reaching deeper and not supplying the par they need. This light does not have that issue by a long shot. It penetrates like "Dirk diggler" and reaches all those important ladies parts !!!.... I am most impressed by the mimosa so far and as a 1st gen cross auto of a mimosa lemon Male sacks and a random multi strain seeding from its pollen release , I have ended up with a good amount of crossed autos from trusted and stable strains. It can be fun growing these out and so far this is the 3rd from the batch that I have successfully run. Aside from the benefits of the end products we get , the journey we go on can be an amazing and eye openening experience. If you start to investigate how these plants really live , love and die and how they use the network of available systems to communicate and build our much loved bud factories , you will find it hard to climb out of that rabbit hole . Finding out that fungi is not the man everyone wants to party with but IS a complex communication system used in nature to meet the needs of the whole forest/fauna in unison is life changing !!!!!. At day 57, they are now going into a 48hr dark period before harvesting . I did have a couple of bud rot issues in one or two buds due to the density of their growth. I am hoping to keepnot at bay during the low and slow dry after trimming wet this time. I will update their yield ect once they finish. Pics dont do them justice and they smell so sweet. Hello:) So this week was really interesting. I saw something that I‘ve never seen before. On 4 leaves of the front right sangria there are flowers growing ON the leaves? You can see it on the last photo and towards the end of the video. Anyone knows what that is? @growerschoice it surely has to do with this being a triploid right?:) Furthermore I added some bactrex and orgatrex this week, continued watering as normal and the plants look nice. The buds are stacking like crazy. I also have a war going on with the insects… I have now 4 sticky traps and kill about 50 each day manually, I hope they dont destroy the roots too much… It‘s getting under control but I had to something… Also I feel like the wasabi is almost done… Like 2 more weeks while the sangrias look like they need at least 3-4 more weeks. Let‘s see, so far I‘m happy with the results:)

So, this is the one I liked the most since day one, love her colours, her structure and her smell, but precisely because of that I was too excited to harvest her that I forgot to take proper photos so I leave the ones of her last days .. Day 10: The LED I ordered should have been here a few days ago and I still don't have it which means for the past few days she has been sitting on the windowsill trying to find the source of light while growing really tall and spindly. Sad times! Day 13: Today I have been out and bought a nice big 6 litre pot for her to spend the rest of her life in. I have transplanted her in and she seems pretty happy. Day 14: Today my LED light finally arrived in the post! I feel like time has been wasted now but I've still re-potted her into a 6 litre pot filled with already watered soil and put her in my wardrobe until my tent turns up.

Day 63 : These girls are continuing their quest for glory and still popping pistils. #1 In her organic soil looks the most potent up close and her main stem is so fat now. I tried to reposition it a little and lost the battle as it could arm wrestle a Gorilla !!. I amended her pot today with some charge(200ml/10L) in her water along with the other LOS girls and a top dress with "life cycle" (30ml) . I think another week at least for her so she could use the boosts. #2 Is also looking potent and smells amazing like her sister up close. she is a very thirsty girl and uses all her nutes within a day to a lighter pot slightly every feed. She has been fed with just the shogun sumo boost (20ml) , dragon force (40ml) to 10L water to compare with her MC fed sister. her height is held down with lst but if I grew this strain again , I would not train it flat but manage it as natural as possible. #3 is the reason I say this. As she had looked a little different in size and colour , I allowed her to grow untrained. She is still completely different to the others but from talking to a member here , there are about 9 different ones. wow. She smells identical but her buds look so different to her sisters from different Misters. She is being fed with Mc (10g) , sumo boost (10ml), pk warrior (6ml) , calmag(10ml) and silica (10ml) to 10L water. She is loving life and packing her weight on now. i think she may finish a bit after her step-sisters but I expect a few more weeks possibly. Keep it green Growmies

A few days late with the update but the pics and recording is from day 42 of flower

She's staying short & bushy naturally but I still topped & defoliated. I topped and defoliated every plant. I'm trying to form them into canna-bushes. Hopefully I'm doing the correct training procedures to make them all grow that way both indoors and out.

This girl took a little longer to trim up. Me and two grow buddies got her done in about 4 hours. Boy is she a sticky one! And stinky. 😁 There were plenty of scissor hash hits, which slowed us down a bit. The buds seem dense and tight and should dry and cure up nicely. I can't wait to dive head-first into this one. It's like I want it to take it's time hanging and drying, but at the same time, hurry the hell up! 😉 All in all, I'm very happy with how this grow went. 💪 SMOKE REPORT This girl was a pleasure to grow, she had no issues start to finish. And even better, she produced a very nice yield of 5.6 ounces of very nice, potent, flavorful buds. The buds have a nice earthy flavor, which is my favorite type. They're nice and dense too. It's not quite as couch-lock as the Opium I grew from Divine, but it's still a night time smoke. Overall, great stuff! 😎

10/27 - Today is technically day 28 since germination. I would normally wait three more days before doing this update, but enough has changed, I figured it warranted documenting it early. Today I did a solution change to half-strength week 3 guidelines per the Dyna-Gro feed schedule from their website. This gave me a ppm of 740 total, including 170 ppm tap (measured using Hanna Primo .5 conversion). This gives me 570ppm (1.14ec) of nutrients. The solution was changed about four hours prior to their nap time (of four hours in length). Shortly after the lights came back on I noticed this discoloration on her roots (as shown above in picture and video). Both ladies in the video were given the exact same solution at the same time and now show noticeably different ppms (Sour Diesel Auto - 770ppm; Amnesia XXL Auto - 720ppm). I'm not sure why they are exhibiting different reactions to the same solution. She doesn't seem to be showing any other negative effects at this point. Root growth is phenomenal and her vegetation has only accelerated since being topped. Just slightly concerned about what to do with the root issue. I have thought about adding Botanicare Hydroguard since the smaller buckets will run slightly warmer in temp. Once they start drinking more, I will bump them up to 5 gallon buckets, but that's not needed at this time. Any advice, questions, or observations are very welcome. This is my first DWC run and first run with Dyna-Gro. Edit: 10/29 - Added 2ml/gal Botanicare Hydroguard as a precaution regarding her potential root issue. Res temps are mid-seventies, so I'd say it's a safe move and some relatively cheap insurance. Edit: 10/31 - PPMs kept increasing up close to 800 from the original 740. Added pH'd water to dilute right close to 700ppm. Would have diluted more, but that was touching the bottom of the net pot. Removed two main fan leaves that were actively shading new growth nodes. Added second Mars Hydro SP150 and raised both to 18" above canopy.

As week 8 started, buds are gaining size. Plant is drinking lots of water. About. 3/4 a gallon a day to day 1/2. Added a second light to setup now. Hoping to help the flowering buds with extra light. Relocated my fan to help circulate air flow around more of the taper colas. Should have a around 3 week a left til harvest. Can’t wait to see how this first grow turns out and what to learn from it overall at the end.

This results in increased germination speed Hopefully all 3 seeds will germinate by tomorrow? Seeds popped today:-)transferred 3 Purple Kush seeds in to small pots 10/09/23 3 Purple Kush seeds, 1 seed in each small pot. Each Pot is Half filled with lite mix compost and Half filled with Vermiculite , watered planting medium before sowing seeds 2cm deep in planting medium. The seed will push through the vermiculite easley with very little effort, in effect increasing higher successful germination rate, the compost will offer the first tap root an immediate lite nutrient supply. Placed 3 pots on top of a Propagation heating mat for correct germination temperature, position in a shaded place, and keep out of direct sunlight. This may seem like a lot of effort? and it is, but it will be highly beneficial by increasing a higher germination rate and higher amount of seeds will germinate from using this method :-) especially if your seeds were expensive. 11/09/23 no sprouts above the vermiculite yet, i will check it again tomorrow. Today 2 Purple Kush Germinate and rise above the vermiculite 3 days after sowing. Purple Kush is going ok, it could be growing faster, unfortunately i can't upload new photos because there is a problem in the GD system, they are doing there best to fix this problem as soon as possible. GMO Cookies where started 16/09/23 filtered water in glass, also add 3/5 drops of hydrogen peroxide, stir water well before adding the seeds, and stir again after adding seeds to water. 3 seeds sprouted, but only 2 survived, it become to hot and one GMO Cookie sprout died. I have now started another strain (Party Monster) 19/09/23 filtered water in glass, also add 3/5 drops of hydrogen peroxide, stir water well before adding the seeds, and stir again after adding seeds to water. I will leave it for 24 hours, 5 seeds of Party Monster have sprouted and are under the same 100W LED grow light. GMO Cookies have all come up above the vermiculite and are now positioned under a 100W LED, there is a small clip on fan blowing and circulating the air. This is my second attempt to grow GMO Cookies from 3 feminised seeds, i messed up on the first 3 seeds, i put them under a 250 Watt LED and it fried them, my folt. Growing from germinating seeds is a very delicate situation, your environment temperature needs good control. 2 Party Monster seedlings are looking good, coming along well under the 100W LED light. 3 GMO Cookies are looking good also under the 100W LED light. Plus i have now started soaking in glass of water 03/10/23, 5 Strawberry Yields fem seeds aka Strawberry Fields. filtered water in glass, also add 3/5 drops of hydrogen peroxide, stir water well before adding the seeds, and stir again after adding seeds to water. The seed coat softens by soaking your seeds in a hydrogen peroxide solution, allowing the seeds to absorb more oxygen. This results in increased germination speed! 1 Super Lemon Haze fem seed planted in a 2 ltr pot 28/10, this is the only plant i will keep for flowering. The Pot is Half filled with lite mix compost, and the rest of the pot is half filled to the top with Vermiculite , watered planting medium thoroughly soaking it before sowing seeds 2cm deep in vermiculite. The seed will push through the vermiculite easley with very little effort, in effect encouraging a higher successful germination rate, the compost will offer the first tap root an immediate lite nutrient supply. And i planted the 11 remaining popped SLH seeds in the brown round pot, this is just to see how many will rise above the vermiculite from the 13 SLH fems seeds soaked on 27/10. I will give these away to a friend. Both pots have been placed on a propagating heating mat for consistent and ideal germination temperature until all seeds have risen above the vermiculite. Once my 1 fem seed has germinated! i will cover the pot with a transparen plastic bag and place the pot 20cm below a 100W LED light. Super Lemon Haze feminised seeds Seeds sourced from Satdica Bulk Seeds Soaked seeds 27/10 planted up on 28/10, 12 out of 13 seeds have transformed in to 12 healthy little seedlings. 11 seedlings will be given away to a friend, and i will keep the one seedling you see already planted up in a black 2 ltr size pot. Spoon your seeds into it's planting medium, do not touch with fingers, spoon it in with half spoon of water and a seed, place the seed in the center 2cm deep in the planting medium, water it in again very lightly to help the seed settle into a comfortable position before leaving it to rest covered on your heating mat. The seed will push through the vermiculite easley with very little effort, in effect increasing higher successful germination rate, the compost will offer the first tap root an immediate lite nutrient supply. Watered and fed them in with Plagron Terra Grow 5ml to a ltr of water, i may have added too much, perhaps 2/3ml to a ltr of water would have been enough? placed 3 pots on top of a Propagation heating mat for correct germination temperature, position in a shaded place, and keep out of direct sunlight.
